I just saw that trailer and... wow, you are absolutely right.

I didn't see a movie, but rather a very long trailer for a new Mortal Kombat movie coming out, and they just completely killed the franchise, it looks very un-Mortal Kombat.

I think that trailer was a pitch to Warner Brothers.

Scott Pilgrim vs The World
If you like video games, unconventional comics (such as the ones this is based on and Kick-Ass) and the perpetually nerdy Michael Cera, I heartily recommend this film. However, I should remind you that this movie is aimed at young people, so anyone who considers themselves middle-aged should skip this one. It's not over the top funny, and it has an awesome soundtrack that I can picture myself listening to while playing GT5. The characters are well thought out, and I can't seem to find any plot holes. Couple that with good ol' gaming nostalgia, and you have a movie for the young people. Just don't bring your grandparents.

Score: 8.5/10
Did that have a Capcom announcer?

The Book of Eli (2010)

The book of Eli starring as the main character playing as a nomad in a post apocolytic world and it's believed he holds the last bible since the last war 30 years ago.

I liked watching the movie and the story wasn't very strong, but it was enjoyable. Like always Denzel Washington plays a really good role as the nomad and he was enjoyable to watch.
Gary Oldman played as the "villian" in this movie wich he performed. Sometimes he tried a bit too hard but it wasn't a big of deal.
Milla Kunis played the typical im dependable as soon se set one foot in the wasteland.

Overall it wasn't the best out there, but if u have an hour or two to spare then i recommend it you.

8.5/10
I really think Oldman did try to hard though I figured out what he was doing too early in the movie.

Funny People (2009)
This is not a comedy regardless of the fact that Adam Sandler & Seth Rogan play the leads. It is in fact a drama about comedians. Unfortunately as a drama it falls a little short of the mark. I found the direction to be a little aimless and drawn out. Adam Sandler was okay however after years of trade mark Sandler characters, this movie left me wanting a little more Billy Madison and less of this slightly odd & not very funny comedian. Eric Bana actually puts in the funniest performance amongst a cast of established comedians. Overall I felt that it didn’t quite deliver. Score: 6/10

Cape Fear (1991)
Robert De Niro pulls off a great performance as a Chilling sex offender who is released from prison. He set to the task of revenge against his former attorney (nick Nolte) who failed to represent him properly. I thought the performances were quite good. De Niro looks incredibly creepy and believable. Nolte on the other hand I was less impressed with. He was okay, but not a particularly memorable character, however this could also be due to how he is overshadowed by De Niro’s performance. Avid Simpsons fan, you will probably recognize the Cape Feare episode (season 5) which is a hilarious take on the film. Anyway back to the flick, the strongest point I thought was actually the score which is brilliant, more so than the movie itself.
Score: 8/10

Resident Evil Afterlife (3D) Decent movie but the first one is still my favorite. If it wasnt for the 3d this would have been a rough movie.

The Crazies. This is actually a great movie. Lots of suspensful and scary parts.

Dog Soldiers. Fairly good movie. Better than I expected. Some decent gore too.

Barry Lyndon (Stanley Kubrick, 1975)

I was surprised to learn that this film was actually one of Kubrick's later films, and earned Kubrick Oscar nominations for both Best Picture and Best Director in 1976. At over 3 hours long, it is typically Kubrick - extremely long and overly ponderous in places... but, (although I am slightly biased) it is excellent. The score, the cinematography, and the performances (not to mention the locations, the costumes and the screenplay) are all outstanding, and there is a certain 'satisfaction' to be had with the story too. It is a bit too long, and quite slow, but then again, so were 2001: A Space Odyssey and The Shining, and it never did them any harm. I doubt it has the replay value of some other of Kubrick's epics, but it's an excellent film nevertheless. 9/10

1. What a load of rubbish
2. 3D is horribly overrated
3. Milla Jovovich is one hell of a sexy lady!

Sex Drive.

not the greatest film ever but there are their funny scenes.

yesterday, i watched Ip Man.

nice entertaining movie with a bit of everything: action, drama, comedy.
Great fight scenes and a good movie to pass time on a boring evening

I just saw this movie, too so I will add my thoughts.

1. What a load of rubbish
2. 3D is actually well done because that's the only point of the movie.
3. When Milla Jovovich is the best actor in your film you may need to talk to your casting agents.

Huh, maybe the 3D installation here sucked then. They just got one and a new one is coming in December.

The depth was great and all, but are 3D glasses supposed to be so heavily tinted? When I put those glasses on all the colors just vanished, making it a heavily de-saturated movie to watch and the goggles were so damn dark I had to take them off once in a while to see what the hell was going on in those sewers.

Also, I didn't like how sharpness wasn't up to it. The focal point would be normally sharp, but then the rest of the screen was blurred out. Especially moving objects or persons were kind of really blurry.

She's married to the director and one of the producers. She is the one who keeps making the movies happen.

And, to wash away the negative Milla Jovovich vibes:

Multipass. Multipass. Mul-ti-paaasss.

The American

A slow uni-plot movie with very slow, somewhat predictable action, and little dialogue. (In fact, when the sound disappeared during playback in the theater, you hardly noticed. Local thunderstorms do those sort of things.) But that would have robbed you of a few nicely delivered lines from Paolo Bonacelli (playing a priest), and well, some sounds from Violante Placido (although she doesn't have to speak for enjoyment). Clooney was quiet, strong, but neither absolutely phlegmatic nor trying to steal every scene, either. Photographically, it was very moving and descriptive, focusing more on austerity and simplicity; although many small-subject-composed-against-wide-shots between action was used.

More of a lazy afternoon movie than an a way to end the day. Probably not for everyone, since the camera work was the real star.

Leloo Dallas Multi-pass has to be one of the funniest sequences in sci-fi movies

Walked into Scott Pilgrim today. Had to walk out because Michael Cera is SUCH a fag. Can't stand that guy.

I'm on a roll for bad movies today. Zombie Strippers is Troll 2 awful.

The whole Fifth Element is one of the high points for popcorn sci-fi. 👍

Hello!
Resident Evil: afterlife...
and now Im waiting the SAW IIV

Im waiting the SAW IIV
Saw IIV (or more accurately III) has been out for 4 years so I think you meant VII/3D.

And welcome to GTP, san4os. While it certainly isn't a requirement, it's usually a nice idea to give us a few thoughts on the movie you watched. :)👍

The new Robin Hood movie's pretty good in my opinion. I've read some reviews complaining that it was too political but this made it all the better I'd say. 8/10.

I also saw this movie

1. What a load of rubbish
2. 3D is generally overrated. This wasn't bad as far as 3D goes, but yeah... that's still not very good imo.
3. Milla Jovovich is indeed a sexy lady...

That's because people forgot that Robin Hood's "rob from the rich, give to the poor" philosophy was in a system where rich = government and government friends and poor = everyone else.

When taken from that angle it is a story about taking back unjust taxes and returning them to the people.

Ragnar Danneskjöld would be proud.

Speaking of which, I just found out this morning that Atlas Shrugged is being re-released in Portuguese over here. I've been trying to find a copy of it for a long time with no success, this definitely made my day!
