Ok get ready for the worst reviews ever. First movie I saw was Paul. That's the one with the little green alien thing. I watched about 5min and my friend told me it sucked so I stopped. Didn't seem good anyway.

Second movie I watched was the one with Justin Timberlake and Mila Kuntis I think its something like not that into you as the title, but I don't remember. I watched maybe half and hour of this movie and it sucked too. Justin Timberlake plays the art director of GQ magazine which was the only entertaining part since I want that job however there is an extremely small part about his job.

So, you gave us your opinion on two films you didn't actually watch?

And the second one is called "No Strings Attached."

Coneheads (1993)

"Coneheads" is the perfect kind of movie to have on killing time late at night, or when you just want to veg and not think about anything. The humor in the movie is simple to understand and easy to laugh at. Adam Sandler's cameo in the movie was great.

Sha Po Lang.

Can't get over the fight scene with Donnie Yen and Jing Wu.... never seen the two fight together, and on top of that, it was fought out with a baton and a knife!

Story didn't have dinky consequences to advance the plot, cops become corrupt, all in all the fighting was entertaining. Glad to see they went with that direction in the very end, I'd say it but it's spoiling.

Hanna

8/10

Thin plot, not very sophisticated, it earns most of it's points from being heavily stylistic (good thing).

Edit: I really want to see "Tokyo Gore Police" next.

Underworld Awakening. We watched this in 2d. If you are a fan of the series this was one of the best. Just some serious butt kicking and insane scenes of violence. Kate Beckinsale is just so awesome in these movies. :dopey:

I thought Paul was okay. Honestly, I don't judge movies by what other people say, I have to see it for myself.

And it's Mila "Kunis", of which I find quite hot.

Mesrine, 2008 so not a new film but it's really good, it's a French film (so subtitles) but don't let that put you off, if you're into crime drama's then this is for you, Vincent Cassel (plays Jacques Mesrine) is really great in this film.

Can't wait to get my hands on part 2.

I somewhat watched them and partial opinion from my friend. I started by saying worst review ever just because of that fact tho. Also thanks I forgot that was the name.

No joke I was told by a shemale that this movie was so good. It was the most random event in my life. However it made me really want to watch it to see for myself. I have been hearing more reviews and heard it's easily best of the series and pretty good overall.

I thought Paul was okay. Honestly, I don't judge movies by what other people say, I have to see it for myself.

I base on whether to watch it or not on what others say. I have certain people who like quality movies like me and the guy who said it was one of them. He said it was a different director than the other movies those guys made together.

haha didn't know how to spell it, but looks funny now that I read it again. Yes she is hot, but the movie was pointless.

Ok my review is for Moneyball. I wanted to watch this movie for a long time now, but wasn't sure if it was gonna be good. I heard it was really good from the same person who told me Paul wasn't that great so I figured I'd give it a shot. I watched it on the internet and the sound was messed up. It was really strange at first, but I got used to it and didn't bother me after a while. The movie is pretty good. I do not like baseball, but I do like figuring out alternative ways to win. That is what this movie is all about. Sort of a old school vs new school techniques and which is the best. Brad Pit is in it which of course he was great in. Jonah Hill is also in it who I don't like, but was also good in this. I'd recommend watching this if you are on the fence about it. Technically about baseball, but much more in depth and entertaining.

I plan on watching this over the weekend. Tried to rent if from a RedBox last weekend but they were all out.

I hate it when people are put off of films because of subtitles.

Same here, but a lot of people are, unfortunately... which is a shame really because there are some great foreign films out there, what annoys me the most though is when Hollywood decides to remake films because of this... The Ring, Rec, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo etc.. the original versions of these films were much better in my opinion.

Anyway, my luck was most certainly in last night, as 'FX' just happened to be showing Mesrine part 2 -Public Enemy Number 1... it was even better than the 1st part!, will most definitely be getting this on DVD/Blu-ray, i think i'd give it a 8.5/10 easily.

here's one I saw with subtitles:

Ladri di Biciclette (a.k.a. Bicycle Thieves) (Vittorio de Sica, 1948) -- The primest example of Italian neo-realism cinema, about a poor young father in postwar-ravaged Rome who finally finds work putting up posters around town, only to have his precious bicycle stolen, what follows is a cat-and-mouse detective story with intense realism, though not in the violent and mystery aspect, but more in the fact that the man's work tool has been stolen and he will now be without a job, without money and without a way to support his family. It's a story of a man against the elements, that shows life being compromised of little deceptions that build up and create a downward spiral of misery. Very touching movie and very well done. It's #85 in IMDb's Top 250. 9/10

- Black Hawk Down -

Now, ive seen most "good" war movies, like Apocalyse Now, Full Metal Jacket, Platoon and of course Saving Private Ryan.... This one, however, is one that I missed and never got around to seeing.... So I got it discounted on Bluray so I could enjoy it on my home cinema set in HD. :) My expectation levels were low, I knew it was supposed to be a good war movie, but I had no idea it was THAT good. This one is definitely up there with the best of them. I was blown away by the whole story and the way its filmed is just superb imo! Enjoyed it from beginning the end, even if the last half of the movie is pretty much ALL action. Id have to give this one a 8.5/10... 👍

Watched a few movies this weekend, including Unkown, Planet of the Apes: The Origin, Win Win, Just Go With It. I guess that was it.

The one I liked the most was Win Win, it's a low budget film but the story was good. I give it a 8/10.

The Big Lebowski

Great film, loved the acting by both Jeff Bridges and John Goodman. I really think John Goodman should have won an Oscars for best supporting actor. Would defiantly watch it again. 9/10

I only need subtitles when I watch Scottish films

:ouch: Ouch. I take it you can watch Japanese films without subtitles? Watashi no Kannojo wa nihon jindesu. :sly:

And no, I did not use google translator. The sentence itself pretty much explains how I know that. I understand that Scottish accents can be hard for others to understand, but we do not all sound like people from a certain Ken Loach film. My accent is actually quite "posh" compared to other Scottish accents, which I hope will serve me well when I start working as an EFL teacher. Failing that, due to my time spent in Canada, I can do a pretty good Canadian accent.

I haven't seen the remake of "TGWTDT" but I agree about the Ring and .Rec. Terrible remakes. I can just imagine the guys responsible patting themselves on the backs thinking they've done a great job.

Remakes in general, are a bad idea. I can only think of two "remakes" that were better than the originals. And when I say "remakes", anyone who has seen the two films I'm talking about and the originals will know that they were mostly just inspired by the originals.

1. John Carpenter's "The Thing". Aside from a similar premise, this is pretty much a completely different movie to the original (The thing from another world).
2. Scarface. See above. A few similarities, but overall a much more accomplished film.

I hear that Hollywood is working on an Oldboy remake. Oh dae-su does not approve... And no one can replace the beautiful Kang Hye-Jeong as Mido :D.

I recently watched Låt den rätte komma, or "Let the right one in". It was a good film. The fact that the American remake changed the boy's name from "Oskar" to "Owen" is all the sign I need not to watch the remake. Couldn't they just have called him "Oscar"?

I was just making fun of the comment :p

In all seriousness though, I do need subtitles when watching a few films, even if they are in English. Anything that isn't English or Spanish, I can usually do without the subtitles.

I'm the same. My girlfriend is Japanese and prefers it when I turn the subtitles on. Her English is good, but sometimes in films people talk too fast for her liking. It's become a habit now that I generally turn them on even if I'm watching something alone.

I live in a house with a chihuahua and a toddler. I need subtitles at all times.
