What other cars handle like the Elise/VX220/Speedster?

A good one is a car barely anyone knows of, the Hyundai Tiburon Turbulence. Tuned to 194 bhp N/A with height adjustable suspension and SS tyres, handles beautifully.

For drifty fun though it's got to be the Shelby GT350R, it's got 431 bhp with SS tyres and height adjustable suspension and every corner if you steer 5 degrees too much or put 1 toe too much of power onto the accelerator and you get this seemless slide and the V8 going mental.

Good call! I got it the other day and upgrated the engine to this exact amount. did a weight reduction 1, put some SM tires and sports suspension. It is a really good car, better than let's say... a Celica SS-II, and it's much more cheaper!

One from left field is the Storia X4. It has incredible grip; on some tracks you can literally drive around the entire thing full throttle. However being a 3-pot, it has next to zero torque. Even bogs down at the start with full revs on 👍

It actually has a 713cc 4 cylinder turbo engine. Here is a link to some info about the car.

I have one in Reflex Spice with 200hp and it runs like a dream.

If you want a light oversteery car, you might wish to try the Toyota FT 86 Concept (the one which has been included from the start), it's a lot of fun and breaks out easily but remains controllable when it does.
A fully tuned Mazda Autozam (think it then has about 448 PP) is a lot of fun too and don't forget both RR Alpines (the A110 and A310), if only these cars were Premium I'd drive them much more than I do now.

I completely disagree

theres no way an ft86 is breaking traction in race tires

The newest Mazda Roadster (the NC ??) is awesome at any state of tune (stock, semi-tuned, maxxed).
It grips so hard plus you can drift it if you want
=> It does what you want.

Another one:
Trial Celica.
I have beaten Elises and NSX´s at 490-516pp and I think it´s the best FWD-Car ingame (without front Downforce).

As far as light and quick and quirky handling cars i have a few favorites

I LOVE the lancia stratos. It is so versatile even in stock form, making a good classic racer, a drifter, and just a fun car. That is though, if you can handle it.

The caterham is a no brainer too. So light and quick enough to win the supercar seasonal we used to have.

And finally, i really enjoy the toyota 2000gt. It is versatile like the stratos, but handles less like what you are looking for. It can break loose some racing tires with only 250hp if you rub it the wrong way, which is really fun.

I never really liked the beat, and i have yet to try the old mr2. It is waiting to be used still.

Who said anything about race tyres? (EDIT: I remember now, that was the criterion mentioned in the OP; still, it's irrelevant. This thread has grown beyond that.)
It's a road car (concept), so I suspect the intention was to try it with road tyres.

Incidentally, I can concur: it's great. Toyota even said they deliberately engineered it to work with (relatively) limited grip, so that it's more fun.

Personally, I think all the suggestions in this thread are great! 👍

Ok, is taking me a bit to procure the suggested cars, but after trying a few (only minimum upgrades as required, no tunning):

Stratos: a lot of fun, wish it had more power. Slapped all non permanent upgrades. I think with some suspension/gear tunning it will be great.
Autozam: cool find! Had to do all the upgrades but was able to powerslide it in trial mountain, takes forever to go fast though :)
Catheram: a favourite of mine so I can't believe I am saying this.... far too planted for this comparison
GT350R: very close to what I am looking for. Only put an ECU and intake upgrades though. I think this can be upgraded/tuned to be amazing
MR-S V Edition: also quite good, would love it if it had more power. Maybe tuned I can get it to break loose a bit more.
Tommy Kaira ZZ-S: I had huge expectations, and as it usually happens I was a bit disappointed. Didn't feel natural oversteer and didn't get as much sideways action. This has to be a tunnig opportunity though.

One car that went immediately to the top of my list to compete with the Spirits and VX220s: the AC 427. Completely stock is awesome. Slapped RS, an ECU and a racing filter and it was smoke from start to finish at the Trial Mountain seasonal, while beating the rest of the cars by a mile. I love it.

Wondering what people think about the BMW 120d. With all the torque it might be quite loose. Haven't found one though.
