70's to early 80's Le Mans cars.

Seems like a forgotten era.

Not hard to see why its been forgotten

I would say add 90s CART. 1,000 horsepower turbo charged engines in big, heavy cars. Even had 4 former/future World Champions driving in the series at the same time.

Legends Cars and the Formula cars of the sixties. I love those cars. GPL has them, I want GT5 to have them too. :p

The race between Nigel Mansell & Damon Hill, just before Mansell ended his F1 career at Williams Renault. This had taken place shortly after the death, of Ayrton Senna.

I mean like the 1967 Le Mans race :).So what đź’ˇ's do you have ?.

S&S.

Well as 1967 is one of my favourite years, I would at first try to make that year the most complete as possible and add :
- the chaparral 2F which gave the ford and ferrari a run for their money at the beginning of the Le Mans 24h, and won the last race in Brands Hatch.
- a bunch of Ford mark II, from 1966 (the winner trio in Le Mans) and 1967 (Mark IIb, bucknum made the hole shot in le mans 1967).
I still think this can be part of GT5, as the chaparral 2D & 2J were present in GT4. Fingers crossed......

The Porsche 917 from 1969 to 1971 deserves its entry in the hall of fame, as well as the Ferrari 512s, but that won't happen of course in GT5....

Then, I would dream of Formula one cars from the '80's especially the turbo cars from 1983 to 1988.....still dreaming....

I have to say I'm allready over excited by the presence of the Ford Mark IV and Ferrari P4. Thanks Kaz for this.....

Best regards,

The early '70s when the XU-1 took on the might of the GT-HO in the ATCC, real David and Goliath stuff, real stuff of legend.👍

.. and 30's Formula 1.

This.

Recreation of 1938 most famous Nurburgring race where you have to drive consecutive 16 laps of pre-war Nurb and pit in the same time as Manfred von Brauchitsch - than cutscene starts where Brauchitsch car catches fire - and than race your Mercedes-Benz W 154 (with the start number 16 and green bonnet, to be accurate as GT games are) to victory with more than three minutes and 20 seconds ahead of Hermann Lang's car.

I see that as a pefect Mission Race for hard-core :D

F1 didn't start until the 50's guys...

But I have alot of passion for that era, Auto Union and the Silver Arrows 👍

It didn't we know, but it is easier to quote than to correct trivials that 99% of people do not care about such as "what is GP, isn't it F1?" or something similar. .

This way or another, you know the race I'm talking about 👍

I would love to see '60's '70's & early '80's nascar before the manufactures got such a big seat at the nascar round table also '20's
'30's era le mans

I always thought those were called "cigar-tube" racers ?

This is my idea of a roadster:

retro4370b.jpg

Engine in the front (probably an "Offy" - Offenhauser 4-cyl), 50s styling. Funnily enough, this style was abandoned almost completely not long after Jim Clark's win at the Brickyard in '65. The Lotus 38 (a "cigar-tube" monocoque) was so influential, that the next few years were dominated by cars like it. This is where Lola first became involved state-side, for instance.

After reading all of these posts, it seems that GT shouldn't exclude any era...
I think Kaz knows this, now that he's been to the Concours D'Elegance at Pebble Beach, etc.

Should prove interesting...

haha, to be fair, it probably just says I have too much time on my hands :sly:

EDIT: I see now that it is your thread. :O I meant no offence :)
