If Slipknot isn't punk, SOAD isn't punk, and Blink-182 IS punk, WTF is punk? Is it the way the band members dress and act and not just the music? Argh, I am so confused... :ouch: Maybe Punk Rock can shed some light on the issue...

How more of a dumb **** can you be sir? Just due to ur ignorance, you think that if you dont know about them they never existed! LMAO, they where of the best bands to come out of the underground punk scene in London. They died in a bus accient shorty after they hit it big in the UK.
 
99 Red Balloons is an adaptation of 99 Luftballoons. I think it was in German. It was in Vice City.

Name some other Punk bands, is Blink 182 punk? I also heard that the Killers are punk. I would classify the music of Blink and the Killers to be Alternitive Rock. One of my favorite songs right now is Somebody Told Me, by the Killers.

Blink 182's very old stuff is 70% punk, now it really isnt. Punk is like ****ty drums, and vocals, wiht some kiler ass lead riffs. And the killer is no where close to punk.

(I'm asian and nobody around me listens to Punk not to mention any form of Rock... And all my buddies are more of metal heads :ouch: ... So I don't no many Punk bands.... What are bands I must listen to?)

No Green Day isnt punk, it is Indie. Blink 182 is Indie.

Punk is aggressive, anti-social rock... Usually with very simple riffs (3 chords at most).... Punk is supposed to be the voice of rebellion, against government and authority in general....

Too simple, hackneyed, unoriginal, and modern punk (for the most part) has completely lost sight of what punk is supposed to be all about....

Don't even get me started on that cheesy, whiny, Emo crap.....

It's not a type of music, it's how big they are and how big the record label is. Modest Mouse was Indie before they got a radio single. Get your facts straight before you go spreading false information to the easily influenced.

with that said. i say punk is about the message within the music.
Like Millencolin's Bowmore, if you only listen to it, its a pretty cool song, but if you really listen to it, its a song about getting drunk and getting a hangover. very deep.

and the bands i view as punk are : Pennywise, Millencolin And NOFX. they are punk.

I always thought GreenDay was Punk because of their lyrics but.... (Anti-social, attack on society and self-inflicted attacks sound punk to me) but oh well........ What was the first punk band by the way? The farthest I can go is Sex Pistols and The Clash.....

Edit : Well, I read that the Sex Pistols and the Clash were the end of the Punk era some time ago.... And have no clue who was before them....
 
The only punk I am framiliar with is The Clash. I like their music quite a lot. Havn't really gotten into punk though.

real punk isnt dead, just take a look at NoFX,Anti-Flag,RX Bandits and a lot of underground punk.punk is just getting more pollitical, just take a look at rock against bush vol.1 or NoFx's War On Errorism(The best $40 ever spent on 2 cd's)
