Dovesniper711No...
Punk is anti-goverment rockers, social misfits.
Curse and all of that.
Like Anti-Flag, Rancid, 99 Red Balloons, Penny Wise....

ALso Less than Jake is a great punk band!
NOFX!
How more of a dumb **** can you be sir? Just due to ur ignorance, you think that if you dont know about them they never existed! LMAO, they where of the best bands to come out of the underground punk scene in London. They died in a bus accient shorty after they hit it big in the UK.Darin99 Balloons was a 80's song by a female artist that I forgot who that was.
There never has been a band by that name.
LMAO funny.. um no punk is a style of life that has bleed into there music.Event HorizonSo, what you are all saying is that "punk" is not about the song, it is about the people who play the song. So if Brittany Spears played a Rancid song, it would just be considered rock/hard rock?
Name some other Punk bands, is Blink 182 punk? I also heard that the Killers are punk. I would classify the music of Blink and the Killers to be Alternitive Rock. One of my favorite songs right now is Somebody Told Me, by the Killers.
No Green Day isnt punk, it is Indie. Blink 182 is Indie.Event HorizonGreen Day is punk?!? Time of our lives doesn't sound any different than other Alternative Rock... I am so confused![]()
KosmikFoolPunk is dead. Punk was basically being out of the mainstream, and having ideas that fought pretty much anything that was generally accepted.
Instances of punk:
- Dead Kennedy's
- Black Flag
- Agent Orange
- The Sex Pistols
- The Ramones
Blink 182 and Simple Plan are not punk at all. And Dovesniper, your definition of Indie is completely wrong. Indie stands for Independent. It's not a type of music, it's how big they are and how big the record label is. Modest Mouse was Indie before they got a radio single. Get your facts straight before you go spreading false information to the easily influenced.
Integra Type RMethinks the purist are going to come in here and say "Real Punk ended in the 70's."
icemanshooter23The only punk I am framiliar with is The Clash. I like their music quite a lot. Havn't really gotten into punk though.
real punk isnt dead, just take a look at NoFX,Anti-Flag,RX Bandits and a lot of underground punk.punk is just getting more pollitical, just take a look at rock against bush vol.1 or NoFx's War On Errorism(The best $40 ever spent on 2 cd's)KosmikFoolPunk is dead.
