What tires are on your ride?

Front: Continental Conti-Sport Contact 3 195/45/16.
Rear: Continental something or other.

Not sure exactly what's on the rear as I've never really looked, but I had to replace the front ones a few weeks ago because of a nice puncture. God knows what were on there before, but I can tell you that they didn't match... I did want some Goodyear Eagle F1s, but I couldn't find any round these parts unfortunately.

I've never used them personally, but both the tires you mention should be good for either duty. The new Bridgestone RE-10Rs are supposed to be good, too. I love my RE-01Rs which have 25,000 miles and probably 40 autocross passes on them, and they still look good. They are well past their prime but still fun to drive on.

Let's see...

Rear:
235/75/15 BFG Radial Long Trail T/A

Front left:
235/75/15 Uniroyal Tiger paw

Front right:
Don't have a clue, it's bald

Gotta love mismatched tires

On my friend's grey Beetle all of his tires are pretty crappy and old so he had to fill them up all the time. He only looked at one side and filled the other side up the same until we finally realized he had four different tires and was filling a 35psi tire up with 50psi :scared:

1990 Mazda Miata base model.

Kumho Ecsta XS

In my EG9 i use Toyo proxes T1R (wish i think are extremely good) and in my EG6 Toyo R888:tup:!

On my third and last set of Advan Neova AD07s. Last set because it's finally out of production... but I've had some good times with these tires... good times...

2008 Civic Si Sedan

Michelin Pilot HX MXM4 (Grand Touring All-Seasons). Good for tread life and not much else. 215/45R17 I believe.

Mazda 3:
All-around: Pirelli P-Zero Nero 215/45-R18
Overall Impressions: Excellent grip, relatively quiet, okay price ($600/set), good tread life. I got 45,000 miles out of my first set, and probably could have made it to 60,000 if I had checked the alignment after I lowered it :ouch:. Loved 'em enough to replace like-for-like.

Nissan 370Z:
Front: 245/40-ZR19 Bridgestone Potenza RE050A
Rear: 275/35-ZR19 Bridgestone Potenza RE050A
Overall impressions: Excellent grip, reasonably smooth ride, noisy, prone to hydroplaning, no grip in the cold (it is a summer tire, after all). They uphold Bridgestone's reputation for very good tires, but better tires can be had for less money (a new set of these runs $1200--tires with better reviews can be had for under $1000).

Talon -
Summer: Falken Azenis RT-615, through the wearbars. 225/50-16. Possibly Bridgestone RE-11, or Kumho Ecsta XS nest.

Not Summer: Falken Ziex ZE912. 225/50-16. Great in everything but snow.

Gravel/Snow/Beat-down: mismatched set of Goodyear Eagle GT and Toyo Proxes TPT. 205/55-16. Can't beat free.

Both my cars have Conti Sport Contact 2's...

Porsche f 225/40/18 & r 265/35/18
Mondeo 235/40/18

The Porsche will be getting MPS's the next time the rears need replacing... which will be soon given how quickly it wears them out.

My car, summer: ContiSportContact 2
My car, winter: Dunlop WinterSport M3

Wife's car, summer: Yoko S.drive
Wife's car, winter: Pilot Primacy Alpin PA3

235/45/R17 Yokohama S.Drive's on the TL.

How are yours holding up as the mileage racks up?

The ones we have on the wife's allroad are getting very noisey.

Don't JUST DON'T! I think almost any tire would be better. You'll probably only find the asymmetricals as the supercars are being phased out.

Agreed! I really dislike Goodyear tires. I've hated every set that's been equipped on the cars I've bought, and they're bloody expensive! You can get actual good tires for the same price or even cheaper, in every category.

Wow, lucky escape then? Thank god for Kwik Fit's inability to stock things.

255/40s on all four corners (17x9 SSR Type C RS wheels).

Excellent tires. I'll be looking into new wheels soon to fit a set of 305s or 315s in the rear, and unfortunately I don't think this tire is available any wider than 275... they will be missed.

Eagle F1 GSD2s are a really good, and not very expensive, tyre.

Maybe one big tire thread is in order?

====

Anyways for the winter I have Hankook Winter iPike W409's. Awesome tire, I'll review them a bit later. For summers, well I have nothing right now. I still have the Goodyear Eagle GT's but they aren't going back on the Cooper. I'm looking for any and all suggestions for summer tires. Basically I want something that rides halfway decent over a long period of time. I do a lot of road trippin so tires meant for the race track aren't going to cut it.

I've thought about Michelin Pilot Exalto PE2's or Continental ExtremeContact DW's. Thoughts?

Yes, I'm chucking the Goodyears on the Shelby for BFGs or Nittos and I expect 5-6 seconds better lap times at least, on a 4 mile track.

The tires are not where you find the correct tire pressures. Recommended pressures differ by car.

Holy oversteer Batman! :scared:

I considered merging the threads. But this one is a bit more informal and pretty much everyone with a car has something to contribute. Whereas the other one is more focused on reviews and comparisons.

Unless everyone is dying to get them merged, I'll leave them separate for now.
