Do you have any tips or tricks to win the new Time Trials? Im always a couple hundredths from gold, and just cant get it right! What cars should I use at 500PP American and 600PP?

I used a stock Challenger SRT8, but it took me around an hour to get gold. Just kept going til I got it. Don't give up, you'll get it.

I used the Shelby Supercharged for both. Didn't even tune it - just add a little more grunt for the second one. Its a bit twitchy but gets the job done easy enough - good luck.

Use the 2j. Just detune it.

Camaro SS10 for the first although the Ford GT No stripe seems popular.
Nissan GTR Black edition for Suzuka

Worth checking the time trial leadrboards to see what is used.

Or you could think outside the box.. I have a feeling PD made an error and forgot to allow only street cars, as the Sports Hard tire restriction would suggest.

Can you really detune the 2J to 500PP. Doing something other than just Power Limiter?

I haven't tried myself but the 600pp tt you can detune the 2j

Just detuned my 2J for the 600PP event. Worked like a charm. Much appreciated to whoever found that out. :)

I did and your welcome

For Cape Ring I used the Ford GT no stripe. I preferred its handling over the other muscle cars. It needed heavy detuning and a new gearbox to get most out of the lower power.
As I am not a muscle car fan I decided to go with the easy/easier win.

For Suzuka I used my mint condition R33 TC (DLC), glad that I could finally use it in one of the seasonals.
It is probably not the easiest car to gold Suzuka in, as it has the tendency to understeer, but it was fun.

R33 TC? As in Nissan GT-R?

I think you're not talking about the same as the OP. First of all, this is an event for American cars, not japanese. And second, there's no such thing as a R33 TC in the game, only a R35 Touring Car.

I'm sorry, you're right.👍

Anyway, since it's a Japanese car I think it's not eligible to this event, or I might be wrong again...

Only the 500PP has to be done in American cars, the 600 you can do it with whatever you want, I did it with the Scuderia.

Well, I dont have a 2J nor a Series One Supercharged.

I just got GOLD at both events using the Camaro SS10 in Cape Ring and the Ford GT Test Car in Suzuka. Its nice that I had cleared Gold 2 seconds faster.

So far, I'm seeing the Top Online Rankings, people use the SS10 and 2J Race Car for the fastest possible finish.

I will give it a try again later.

I wondered that myself. The tire restriction and very slow gold time would be more appropriate for a street car.

As far as the op, the obvious answer for this seasonal and all seasonals is to look at the leader boards.

500pp: suspension modded Camaro SS10
600pp: suspension modded GT-R Black edition

You can get the 2j in the ucd every once in a while.

if you don't have that car, you should put some credits aside to buy the 2J whenever it pops up - think it was around 12.5mil cr. also save money for the
- Nissan R390 road car,
- Honda NSX LM prototype road car
- Suzuki GSX-R4.
all those cars are OP cars for some, but can be very usefull in many situations, esp with dumb bobs in B-spec seasonals or if you want to have a remote chance at the leaderboards in time trials

Hmm, I haven't tried yet, but can a Saleen S7 be detuned enough to be effective at 500pp? I haven't seen any in the leaderboard list, so I assume it's not the fastest choice or it cannot be entered? Anyone try yet?

It is always good to be double checked, but it would be kinda weird if I golded the event in a car that didn't exist and if it existed wouldn't be eligible to enter :)

As has been said in another post, it is the DLC Nissan Skyline GT-R R33 Touring Car

I used the tuner subaru impreza, can't think of the correct name for it at the moment, for Suzuka. Got a 2:15.7xx in only 3 laps, so I would suggest it for those using a DS3 and find the non 4WD cars hard to drive with SH tires.

Yes, you can use the Saleen but it's not competitive to be on top positions, the gold is easy though.

Well, I dont have 15 million credits either!

this forum sucks.
I used the '06 Z06 because I found that when tuned to 500pp its power to weight ratio was better than the camaro SS, which was the popular choice for the leaderboard. Also, imo, it is a very tunable car.
And even though I don't agree with the concept, I find that if one does the engine tuning then the power limiter, one can get an extra hundred torques.

I used a Ford GT '05 (No Stripe, fumes' tune) to gold Cape Ring. It works even better for Suzuka.

Respectfully submitted,
Steve

I have golded with Camaro SS 10, Shelby, and Saleen S7. But just barely for all of them. Best time is still only 3:01.169

I think it is a good challenge, and I despise those show-offs who claim it is too easy. Some of us don't have 10 hours a week to drive. And if it is really easy, do it in a slower car.

I beat the 500PP with a Corvette Z06 with a spoiler on it. Now to the 600PP.
