have you guys played around with this at all? Seems like the Turbo 1 (low RPM) is too much for him and he can't use it correctly (or maybe thats just my Bob). I have been using Turbo 2 (mid range RPM) but am not sure if I should go Turbo 3 instead. I used to always think Turbo 3 was the best because it gave you the most power, until I realized they have different RPM ranges for all the turbos.

I love cars and racing games but don't know too much about them (tuning wise) and this game is actually teaching me a lot, as are these forums...

Stage 3 (high RPM) should only effect top speed and so should be easiest for bob to control.

I imagine the 1st and 2nd would be trickier for bob as you would often get the boost mid corner and spin out.

yeah I was wondering why he would come out of a corner going 50 mph and I would hear the engine hitting its rev limit, I will try the Turbo 3 for him and see what happens, I guess Bob doesn't know how to control the throttle...

Also if Stage 3 is more for top speed, has anyone tested how that impacts the top speed? I noticed on one of my racers that going from a Turbo 2 to a 3 only increased the power by about 4 HP, which shocked me since its a 900HP car, but will that make it capable of say 230 mph instead of 220 mph even though the HP increase isn't that much?

I've found that with my Bobs, it's more about the drivetrain. On FF and especially 4WD cars, I can keep pushing his pace constantly. FR, RR, or MR cars are a little more touchy

its really about adjusting the transmission. Basically get as much HP and take as much weight off of the car. Get the appropriate tires and make sure the transmission is adjusted for more acceleration on courses with shorter straights and top speed for longer straights.
Thats my 2c and I am lvl 21 bspec lvl 24 aspec

First Race in the Sunday Cup I put my level 0 Newbie Bob in a Fully Tuned MP4 Mclaren

He won by miles :D

Earlier Races they do seem to like 4WD though , So a Fully Tuned Audi V10 5.2 Ltr seemed to keep him happy aswell

The high rpm turbo can cause the most problems coming out of corners as far as I can tell. As the rpms go up the car produces a jump in power that will often cause the rear to jump out and smoke the tires.

In general any turbo should work ok just be careful not to overpower your tires to much. 900 hp RWD on comfort tires is not going to have a pretty ending.
