What usually happens to our GT collections when the next Gran Turismo comes out?

I'd imagine that a major factor in why we'd likely start over from zero, would be if some models don't make it to being included in the next installment. For notable examples, there were the Fittipaldi EF7 VGT and Mercedes-AMG W08 in GT Sport. Not that I mind starting over in a new game, as I believe it leads to more of a "shared experience" of progressing through a new installment. Plus the prize cars for stuff like licenses and various events could differ, too, so the impact of winning a certain car may be a bit muted if I already had it from a previous game's data.

I think it depends, if GT8 stays on the PS5 platform and it's a expanded game such as GT2, GT4, GT6, logically should be able to carry over our liveries and other items, if it's PS6 then similar to Gt Sports end of life.

I just realized something, but, with the way this game tracks mileage and how it actually changes car value when trying to sell a car (as opposed to the older games being a static value), do you guys think maybe PD will allow players to either transfer or "purchase" their GT7 cars from GT8?

I know the mileage mechanic mainly exists for car maintenance, but I think it'd be cool if we could bring cars into older games and continue increasing the mileage--I've seen some players with SICKENING mileage counts in Sport mode. Some of you guys are REALLY committed
