What websites offer basic knowledge on cars?

Hi, I am only 18,, and I have been driving for 1 year. I really would like to raise my knowledge on cars, such as knowledge that i can use to repair my car, or let me know more about engine and turbos? Is there anywebsite for recommendation?

Your best bet to get started is "How stuff works", as they have a dedicated car section.

Its all quite basic, but that seems to be what you are after to start with, so here is the link.

^ Word on the Wiki. There is a lot of great information there, but you do have to take some things with a grain of salt. I don't think the automotive pages are screwed around with too much, so you probably don't have anything to worry about.

If you are really interested in working on your car pick up a helms manual for it. It's an invaluable resource for the home mechanic. The best way to learn about specific cars is to find enthusiast pages to get stats and things. General knowledge can be had by going to the sites folks mentioned above.

Also don't be afraid to ask questions. Feel free to hit me up on AIM or PM me. I am sure many other members feel the same way. I don't think anyone would fret much if you posted a thread here asking some questions either. It's a good group of fellas around here and some of these guys are rediculously knowledgable.

Speaking of that, what kind of car are you driving kusanagiblade?

Well your VIN number can tell us that.

WDBEA = meh.
WDBJF = meh.
WDBJH or WDBUH = meh.
WDBUF = I want it, I want it now.
