Hey guys, I need some advice on what wheel I should buy for Gran Turismo 5, and maybe 6 when it comes out. I will mainly use it for drifting so are there any good cheap ones out there maybe under $100? Thanks.

Under 100 bucks? DFGT.

Cheap wheels are pointless, may as well use the controller. DFGT is the best bang for your buck at that price range.

You could probably get more help if you had posted this thread in the "Sim Racing Hardware" section, instead of the "GT5" section.

Just a suggestion.

Also, if money isn't a factor, the bigger the better. But if you're on a budget, personally I'd recommend one of the Logitech wheels.

The DFGT is very good value for money. I used to drift it but I have just bought the G27 it's an amazing wheel. If money is an issue then I would defiantly go with the DFGT but if you can afford that bit extra I'd strongly recommend the G27.

Absolutely, I'd recommend the G27 over the DFGT in a heart beat.

However the nature and the wording of the OP implies budget is tight, hence why I only recommended the DFGT.

Foot in mouth if I'm wrong but..

If your learning get DFGT. Then move to g27.

I jumped straight to g27 and killed a bit of its life with noobness

Now that its broken im buying a t500, never used it but I'll get back at you after

At $100 USD, you should go for the DFGT. - Don't go any lower than that. If you've got more money, you can go for the G27, as previously suggested, - maybe even the T500 RS, if you can justify the price ;).

IMHO the Best Value of money depending on Location is the G27 a bit more expensive than the DFGT BUT more rugged and as good as Fanatic and Thrustmaster I think.
I have had the opportunity to trial Fanatic (with Pedals) and I must say for $$ they ask they are like the Thrustmaster and overpriced.

Best wheel for the budget conscious has got to be the DFGT as you can use the standard Logitec profiler to tune and set specific FFB .

Can't lose with the Logitech Driving Force GT. Officially Licensed for Gran Turismo, 900 degree rotation, all the buttons you could ever want and even a little shifter knob.

Thrustmaster RGT or F430 might also be interesting. They are not perfectly made for PS3, but working with GT5.

Both are around 100$ new.

From Thrustmaster's homepage:
