This topic is based on something months ago. While Gran Turismo 4 will be the final Gran Turismo on the PlayStation 2, some (if not many) GTPlanet members read that it is possible to have GT spinoffs. You can think of GT Concept as being a spinoff of GT3. GT Concept was more colorful, more vibrant, and had some other special effects. I don't have GT Concept, so I cannot comment in full, but I have seen pictures of the AU Cerumo Supra going off course at Autumn Ring, kicking up leaves all the while. GTC featured mostly concept cars, everything from million-dollar concepts on to race cars, and even some street cars as well. There was a topic someone released about someone asking if motorcycles would be in GT4. Of course, we all said that it was highly UNlikely that motorcycles will be in GT4. I never really thought about coming up with this topic until recently. I know my buddy Kart Racer would love to kart race tracks like Motor Sports Land. I'd personally want to race Superkarts around Tokyo, New York, or if I want permanent road courses- Grand Valley. I would like to see what motorcycle racing around tracks would be like. Imagine being Valentino Rossi tackling the Laguna Seca Corkscrew (MotoGP [returning] to America NEXT YEAR!) telling the competition, "YOU GOT OWN3D!!!" Or this will impress the muscle heads here in the States, how about an all-American version of Gran Turismo? Take on the world in nothing in American muscle, including trucks and American race cars. Perhaps you like open-wheelers. Go from go-karts to the wild F1 cars. Perhaps you want all race cars and not have to worry about racing in a Vitz Cup race for 10 laps at Test Course. Fine. Go from fun Mini Coopers to cars like the Toyota GT-One, McLaren F1, Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR, and if you want to go old school on me (this will require licensing), I give you the Porsche 917. Or maybe you want a GT that heavily focuses on rally, and does it better than in past GTs.

In the event of Gran Turismo spinoffs, what would you want in a spinoff? It's all up to you, GTPlanet! So reply now. If your ideas are as interesting as mine, or if you want to race milk trucks and see cows eating grass on the side in rally races, your call. So go for it!

so sad to hear that GT4 will be the final GT on PS2
in that case i would like to see a version like
Combine Tokyo, NewYork and Geneva autoshow together
And then have a version of all JGTC, LM, Super Touring cars, Super production cars.
But i think it's just a circle, first we want specific car on specific version of GT, and then we end up asking more and more cars, so end up will combine all the cars together and there we go....GT5

and NO there will no be any motorcycle in GT series
anyone play Riding Spirits series
they are pretty much like motorcycle version of gran turismo

Aparently theres going to be GT4 Bikes- All the GT4 tracks but with motorbikes. This was rumored for release this Christmas but that was when GT4 was planed for the begining of this year. There was a website that had a small screen shot of it but I cant find it!

But I think after they finish GT4, they should concentrate on GT5 so we can use the Ring with amazing graphics, AI and physics, and 20+ cars at once as soon as possible :D

Gran Turismo: Club Sport

Featuring Ghymkana, Touge, HillClimb and AutoCross sites from all over the world.

Catering exclusively to the low-budget club racer.

I would cream my pants many a gallon if this ever green-lighted into development and production.

GT Underground!!!

nah......I would want something similar to concept so you can try out all the cars of the future!!

Theres no GT4 Bikes, there might be a PD game with bikes but they won't call it Gran Turismo.

As for Go-Karts, while some of you might like the idea of racing a kart around Tokyo or New Yory, do you have any idea of how boring it would be? Go-karts race on small tight circuits for a reason, and thats because they arn't that quick, you get the odd type like the Pro-Karts which can shift a bit but still your only talking 90Mph, slap in your GT3 disk and drive a car round Tokyo at 90Mph or 150Kph and see just how exiting it is.

HOw do you now they havn't already started on GT5?:trouble:

I'd like to see a GT Kart racing or a GT vintage! :sly:

I would love to see a GT based racing game , where they did away with all the rubbish little road cars .

I would really , really love to have a GT game with racing cars only with cars from the JGTC , and such like !!
Also would love too see some of the old cars added to this , like.....

KURE NISMO
SIERRA COSWORTH RS500 - ( touring cars )
NISMO GTR LE MANS ( from gt2 )
THE ORIGIONAL TVR SPEED 12
BMW 3.0 CSL ( BATMOBILE) ETC.......ETC.......ETC

Also ( a little off subject ) , but does anyone know what happened to a game called 360 challenge by Brain in a jar .
was around a bout a year or so ago , and didnt hear anything of it . It looked absolutely stunning to - at least GT standard .

Lastley , has anyone played " TOKYO HIGHWAY BATTLE " - if they could do this with GT cars & graphics , that'd be pretty cool

Here's what I would do:

GT5: Pretty much like GT3. Simulation mode with cars to win and parts to buy. More specific-car restrictions, like actually having to use a British car in the British GT. License tests and time trials, OK. Arcade mode but not required for completion. A good selection of road and street courses, both real and fictional. Delete rally. The main GT5 disc would include ALL the cars from all versions (see below).

The main disc would be $50-$60. Then there would be $20-30 expansion packs:

GT5R: Real rally. Real and fictional stages, but organized the way a real rally is. One-way stages, with starts staggered by 1 minute between you and the AI, with time on the last stage determining order on the next stage. That way sometimes you'd be on a fresh stage, sometimes you'd be in the dust cloud, and if the AI in front of you wiped out badly, you might pass him.

GT5X: Autocross. Street and prepped cars, with accurate classes determined by mods you've done. A couple of different backgrounds; a thousand cones, a sea of concrete, and a lake of asphalt. One-car-at-a-time runs for Solo II, or heads up against an AI car on a mirrored course for Pro Solo. Lots of repeatable events to practice specific course layouts, but also with a random course generator (after all, it's only cones you're moving, and that's the way autocross works) and a course editor so you could put together and save your own course layouts.

GT5D: Drag. Heads-up and bracket racing, with classes again accurately determined by mods. A couple different backgrounds.

GT5D1: Drift. Drift to your heart's content. Real and fictional road and street courses, touge and canyon runs, etc. etc. etc. Style points and/or timed runs.

This way nobody would have to do the parts they didn't like just to get 100%, and PD could really concentrate on doing a good job on the individual pieces instead of trying to do all things in one huge game, and doing a mediocre job on some of them.
I'd end up spending at least $100 for the main game and the first two expansions, as opposed to only $50-60 for the "all things to everyone" version, and I'd be a lot happier about it.

I don't see anyone spending that much for a drag racing expansion, an autocross expansion AND a drift racing expansion. You'd have to put thoes two together. Also lets use GT5Rally as an example, it would need to be huge. Think about it, GT5 will be massive and for the expansions to be worth it your looking at over 10 - 15 tracks and over a hundered cars. You'd have to have a few stages as well as circuits and maybe a couple of special stages, lets say it has 15 tracks in total, you'd have 8 stages, 4 circuits and 3 hill climbs which can be runin reverse as well. Make on of the circuits a track on ice and you've got a reason to include ice racing cars too, now you have a proper expansion worth buying, you could easilly have 100 cars to do with this, you'd have all the latest rally cars as well as older ones that didn't make it into GT5 and you'd have different classes of hill climb cars and some of thoes ice race cars too. On top of that you could also have a few cars that arn't real rally cars but real cars that have been modified into rally cars like the CZ3 in GTC you had the normal conept and a rally version of it ect.

Ok, how about this....Gran Turismo Aerial Edition.....all planes (prop / jet) same style..races, testing. settings....just think about how cool ( and pretty much impossible ) that would be !

^ that would actually be quite sweet.....you could fly over various areas with differing terrain.....you would have a nice selection of racing and stunt planes which you would use to perform aerobatic tricks and prove your skills to move up the carrier mode.....ofcourse...all of this would be in PD's mouthwatering GT graphics engine!!

GT Le Mans seems cool to me with the most cars ho ever enterd the 24:H, from the Renault 4cv over the GT40 and the Ferrari 250 GTO to the Audi R8. From every year a number of Le Mans legends. The track it selves chould als be availible in a few versions, it looked different in the past then it looks now, so the track should be availible in a few ages.

Another possibility would be gt off road....baja and the likes.....

Any Race series would be great, JGTC F1 Toca DTM GT etc.. all with the correct amount of cars on screen with Gran turismos physics engine plus race damage and those graphics PD is famous for. (shame it will NEVER happen but heres to dreaming  )

More realisticly now a new Gt concept style add on game in which the new cars and tracks can be used in GT4 using the hard drive or something would also be good.

I'd dig a GT4/DTM edition promo. DTM cars on DTM or german'esque tracks (deep forest).

I'd also dig a GT4:JGTC edition promo. JGTC500 and 300 cars on JGCT circuits.

As much as I wouldn't really want it I could see a HUGE market for a GT4:import tuner edition. Just street racing, maybe one or two tracks.

Not on PS2 unfortunately, as said GT4 is the last GT on the PS2, this includes games like GTC.

It'd be cool to see a GT: Motor City -style game. Motor City was one of THE coolest games online. But instead of just muscle cars, bring in some of the more popular import cars. I know I'd have a blast makin' a EK coupe powered by a B20Vtec with a T3/T4 with custom everything 👍

I would pay anything for any drag game like MCO, that is the best car game ever I'm really not kidding I would really pay like 100 dollars for anygame like that. It really pisses me off cause EA had such a great car game and they were really good at making it realistic and then they go and make NFSU.........So if PD can make anything like it I will buy it in a second.

Edit : Woops I didn't see the post above, kinda says the same thing.

Hiya! :D :O  Meow! (='.'=)

I would want a Exotic spinoff from GT! :O WHY? Well, since PD plan to release GT4 this fall or hopefully like some sources, NOVEMBER... and since it seems that EA games's contract with Porsche and ferrari ends november, it may not be enough time to sign and put in those exotics, BUT maybe they already did and waiting for those exotic company to sign like AS if they already agreed to or maybe they did anyways.
I just dont think there isnt enough time to add in those exotics IF Ferrari and Porsche decides to change their minds over it...AND again sign contract with EA games! And then have PD clawing at getting out those exotics from the game since the contract they want to give is no longer legal while the date to ship is scheduled for this winter.
So, IF they do anyways sign, and there is not enough time...THEN MAKE A SPIN OFF of EXOTICS FROM GT!!! :O:O:O

I would call it "Gran Turismo: Enter Exotic!" :O:O

Just imagine when finally we get to see those exotics done by the GT master's at PD  I would drive every "cool" looking exotic for my very own pleasure and I would surely be playing it FOREVER!!!! :O:O

Karts can be pretty slow, but the only racing I've ever done was for fun at Houston Indoor Kartzone (can't recall website). Now when it comes to karts with insane speed, take a look at some of my favorite karts in these examples, THEN think about how a "GT Kart" spinoff would go:

http://www.f1karts.co.uk/action/index1.php?class=GBOX250-03
http://users.cyberzane.net/rforker/ABOUT250RACING.htm

The first two links take you to Formula 1 Racing Karts. I love how racy they look and perform. You know they can do 175 mph, right? The first link has pictures of their Formula One Gearbox 250 Kart. The next link has them in action and features 17 pictures worth. If a 250 is too much for you, look at this one: (http://www.f1karts.co.uk/gbox125/main.php). I think these karts can compete, even if they can't do Le Mans or Complex String. Shall I quote from the third website:

"On full sized racing circuits, the real maniacs can indulge themselves in the SuperKart class. With its liquid-cooled 250cc two-stroke engine and manual clutch six-speed gearbox, a SuperKart can deliver truly impressive performance (0-100km/h in well under 3.5 seconds, 240km/h top speed, 2.6g of cornering power.) SuperKarts cut some embarrassingly quick lap times and have been known to match the lap times of Formula Atlantic or Indy Light cars (editor's note: Indy Lights now defunct)!! At two circuits in England, Oulton Park and Lydden Hill, the outright lap record is held by SuperKarts; faster than Formula 1 on these tight tracks." -Capital City Kart Club, Vancouver, B.C., Canada

So don't consider normal karts, consider at least the SuperKarts. They are the ones that can still provide lots of excitement, even if full-bodied cars don't tickle your fancy. There is a catch to this, however. These karts don't have suspension, so suspension tuning probably will not happen. That may take away from springs, toe, camber, stabilizers, that sort of thing.

In a future post, I'll talk about SuperKarts on a circuit from the Gran Turismo series. Which one? Find out soon!

Laguna Seca's World SuperKart Challenge! It comes your way October 13th to the 17th. You can take a look at the pictures to get an idea as to what SuperKarts at Laguna Seca is like. You can't tell me that ALL karts can't tackle Laguna Seca. At least look at these little speed demons.

...

how about a gt spin off where you go to abandon tracks, (the ones from like th 50's with them massive banked conners) and they have like grass glowing through crack and you have to dodge the hobo's (or hit them carmageddon style)

i wouldn't mind a pikes peak spin off at where you advance through the years (and in cereera mode you have 1 and only 1 shot at winning the race each year) you would race in all class and watch class's come and go and then come back again

GT4: The SUV incidents
Race of the Soccer Moms

^ LOL! And i suppose the main car will be the " Nismo Elgrand S-tune" ?

:irked: Just thinking about it makes me feel all dirty and abused

I would love to see a hill climb spinoff, with insane race and rally cars (GT5: Goodwood festival of speed). Also a retro version with only classic racers from before the sixties(GT5 Goodwood Revival). DRifting of caourse and most certainly a rally.

GT: Rally... Pure and simple...

An all rally GT game would be fantastic... However, they would have to implement some kind of damage modeling, since that is such an important part of rally racing...

;)

^ ahhhh yeah that would be hellasweet!
full damage/rollover model with GT physics... mmmmm
and assuming the whole "gt history of cars" theme KY has going you'd probly be able to race the old school rides too.
