For those of you who use a wheel. What is on your feet? I use the old school method, Socks! Pics of those with racing shoes would be nice

Thanks

Happy Racing!

I wear summer shoes with extremely thin soles mainly because the pedals on the G27 are very hard on the feet and the resistance from the pedals (especially from the brake pedal) becomes painful after a while.
Oh yeah and racing with socks is just plain ugly :)

Socks or nothing, I'm sitting in my living room playing using a DFGT so I use the thinest thing possible.

I've always used socks mostly because the stock pedal boxes are not designed for a size 14 foot, I need all the room I can get.

However I've got my pedals mounted individually now where they are in my real car, I'm considering getting some "indoor" shoes for racing. I did something really weird to my foot the other day during a heel and toe, like my foot flexed lengthwise and it hasn't totally recovered yet...

I use socks but the PWTS brake is a bit hard on the feet after a while.

I use socks but I may invest in some sim boots as I replaced my pedal plates with these.

And they dig into my feet on long sessions online.

Same thing I wear at the local track.

Might as well practice in the same environment as you compete in.
Although I don't wear my helmet in the living room.

Something along these lines - gets pretty hot to wear shoes in a house, with floor warming nevertheless. But in Finland atleast it's forbidden to drive real cars with bare feet. The reason is that it's dangerous like that (and we have a whopping majority of "stick shifts" here, meaning a lot of clutch work).

*edit* to be clear, shoes are needed to drive a car properly imo - same goes for a sim.

I tried it, but didn't like it.
I also tried with boots/shoes. Didn' like that either.
Hence I'm always driving with socks on.

Just curious: anyone here driving with no shoes and no socks, so just naked feet?
To me, socks give me the feeling in the pedals, with shoes I have no clue how hard I'm braking.

I have a G25 pedalset btw.

does it count if you have a towel round your waist?

What does a towel have to do with feeling in your feet?
I mean: for feeling the pedals/braking better I use socks only.
I;m wondering if there are people who want even more 'feel' en only use naked feet not even socks.

I play with bare feet or with socks, if the room feels a bit cold :P
Prefer shoes for my real-life car tho, makes it easier to change gears.

Maybe you should change your title from "Who drives GT5 naked?" to "Who drives GT5 barefoot?"
otherwise you'll just get a thread full of jokes and sarcasm.

Always had to play with socks on my Driving Force, shoes just got in the way. With my Clubsport pedals, I'm not so sure, still working on learning both. Bigger and more durable-feeling, plus it's a little easier to use the brake for some reason beshoed. I think I stand a better chance of managing to learn heel-toe with shoes on as well.

Barefoot doesn't work very well, they tend to stick and dig in to things too much.

Depends on my mood really. I reversed mounted my g27 pedal. I usually drive with socks. I tried with pumas and dc. The feeling is pretty legit as far as brake resistance but I just feel more more comfortable socks or barefooted. I usually drove my evo barefooted in real life

When I wear socks my feet just slide everywhere :) so I don't wear shoes or socks
