That's odd, I've never had that problem. However, another option is to go back on to GT5 and hit "Share Photo." Then go to your computer and log in to your psn account on gran-turismo.com. There is a tab where you can find your shared pictures. The only downside of doing this is that the photos are lower quality than if transferred through USB.

I use a small-sized 250GB external harddrive which I use instead of a USB stick, mainly bought it for other reasons than exporting photo's but as a result I don't have any issues regarding image sizes.
Do not upload then save to your PC, the quality will be horrid.
Try a better flashdrive and making sure everything copies, what it sounds like is your flash drive is corrupt, or your computer has been on too long (I used to just put mine to sleep at night, and when i'd copy over pictures, they'd get corrupted)
