As long as the risk is kept to yourself, I agree with your statement
Try overtaking on the outside everynow and then. The sense of achievement when you do that is amazing :D

Indeed it feels good when you do this beautiful overtake not to mention it was risky but no contact. It feels like you achieved something but also a slight relief and a nice pat on the back.

Also doing a double overtake while two cars infront are battling it out and for them to clash and take each other out and you also get the last laugh. Double overtakes can also be risky especially when two battle it out they can also take you out.

You need to gain the advantage on the straight leading to the corner. In other words, you should already be on the inside and have your car (or at least half of it) next to the other car, on the inside, when you get to the turn. They will have no option but to let you pass, even if they do bump into you. That doesn't mean drivers should just forefeit their position when being challenged - I've had many battles for position, some of them were clean and very exciting!

Basically if you don't have a solid nose (corner advantage) inside of the other car, you should abandon the attempt and regroup. Otherwise you're just shoving your way inside which is not clean or respectful. Anyway, that's how I try to make a clean pass. I can't tell you how to avoid the penalty as that depends on the other driver being respectful. If they really deserve the position, they will yield it to you temporarily, then pass you later on and reclaim it. (I have slammed the door on a challenger when they clearly didn't have an advantage on me, they were just trying to see how long I would tiptoe around them trying to avoid contact.)

Completely correct! Excelent clarification on the subject! :) (I think...) :)

I see you also have a good taste for overtakes

Exactly!! Yesterday on race A; I entered a curve very fast on the inside with intention of passing through a slower player ...then he (intentionally or not) changed his trajectory slightly but towards the inside to the inner apex of the approaching curve... I still caught that move... and I felt that I would pass easily but would surely touch the guy and probably send him out of track (as I was coming really much faster than him...) and my immediate reaction was to brake and put myself out of the track into the inside grass... And I got penalization and lost time.. but I felt I did the correct think... Mainly because he was playing fair from the begining... To be honest ..if before that situation, he had used on me some dirty moves... I would not be so correct....

I feel that mutual respect is very very important in everything, and in any sport competition it´s essential!! But when someone makes me loose my respect for him.. because he disrespected me... then... you know... 🤬 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
