If us lot make a few n00b day 1 servers, I reckon we should (if we can, can we?) put no collision on, for the n00bs that don't have braking, or even want to brake if you know what I mean.

I didn't say that you weren't a quick learner, i merely advised caution in bravado before having played. From my expectations, i think that both of of us should be ok (i've hopped straight into every GT game at Day 1 and gone pretty quick) but you can never be 100% certain what it's going to feel like. I wish all of us waiting patiently the best of luck!
The "n00b" server thing might not be able to happen, unless PD have updated the online matchmaking. The JP version only had random selection of racers and no private races etc. Someone with the JP version, has this changed? Servers should be populated by "n00bs" anyway, with the exception of the guys on here. Collisions on though! If it's going to be on most of the time after practice, we might as well learn with it on "n00bs" or not.

Radio, carpets, I don't care about that stuff. But no door handles? could you still open doors? or you have to jump though the side window?
And I did quick research and yes, No power steering. I really hope there is a quick option before a race just like in GT4. Now with a beast like that, I'll be scared to brake some wrists
If I do end up getting it (which is up in the air) I will want to check out GTTV which right now is what I am most interested in. I know what cars going around a track feel like so that isn't a priority right off the bat. I also want to check out the modeling done on the cars and see how detailed it is, I'm guessing I will be impressed. Eventually I will want to check out the London track and see how it is modeled as well. I'm guessing I will probably use the Cooper S just because I have a shred of experience with the older models and I'll be able to sort of figure out how true to life it is.
I wonder if Poly will model the little string inside the cockpit of the F40, and I wonder what colour it will come with, I rarely see pictures of blue or yellow ones, because most of them were red.
Also I heard the paint was so thin, to save weight, that you could just about see the Carbon Fibre. (If you squinted)
I shall be showing it to the 360 first, tormenting it in a slightly sarcastic, yet mildly threatening way, I may even load it just to see the 360 cry..........OK sorry couldn't resist THAT WAS A JOKE OK! LOL
I'll be going checking out the new tracks and checking out all the options before dipping my toe in the online pool with fingers crossed the demon of Lag dosn't raise his ugly head!

The tough part will be if the pre order dosn't come through the door the same day as it goes live on PSN.......Vast amounts of tranquilizers and antidepressants should see me through those tricky 24 hours though.........LOL
For those who didn't import, NBD... I just suspect the '1st' thing you'll do is gaze in slack-jawed wonder at how beautiful it is. Welcome to the new standard. BTW, I didn't blink for so long I got red-eye, that and driving around sight seeing. Didn't get serious til recently.
I downloaded the Demo of GT5P off the JPN PSN store (too many abbreviations, head hurts) So I have a flavor for the handling and the visuals....Well one track and half a dozen cars at least! Can't quite imagine starting from the back of a 16 car online race, That first corner is always going to be a place to hang back, watch the carnage and nip through on the inside LOL
Oh and I'll just add that the F40 has to be the ultimate car to take online, win or lose, your just going to have fun and look good LOL Although some single class mini races should be a hoot as well........If the JPN gamers don't get that F40 i can see angry mobs setting fire to there copy's of the game and hurling them through the windows of PD headquarters LOL
