Whats with my Escudo?

This thread makes me all nostalgic over the GT2 Escudo... THAT was a fun car to drive! I loved messing around to see how fast it'd go. I haven't tried in in GT5 yet but I guess it DOES become apparent that realistic foes not always equal fun! Somehow it loses some of the epic god-likeness when real-world physics are introduced.

I think the title of 'Ultimate Cheatmobile Gifted To Us By PD' has passed from the Escudo to the X2010... too bad, because at least the Escudo was actually raced.

Yes but in GT2 is was way too unrealistic (but hey, I was 12 - didn't care about realism at all).
In GT2 the Escudo would eat all the purpose-built race cars, I used it so much in Enduros, but even back then it didn't like going over 340km/h.
But still...X2010-like car for 2000000 Cr. - bargain!
Man I miss GT2...

Yeah, I know what you mean - I was 8 or 9 when I started GT2 and physics-be-darned I thought it was the most amazing thing on wheels!👍 I should go back to my machine test to see how fast I was able to get one to... I actually used to take pleasure in modifying it to see how I could get eh most speed out of it.

But yeah, the X2010 price reveals the extreme inflation present in the GT universe - I miss the $2,000,000 tops prices as well!

Apparently - you never played GT2.
As you can read from this thread, Escudo was a legend on GT2.
I haven't played gt2. But I'm assuming that games get more realistic over time as opposed to having inaccurate representations of cars just for nostalgia.

Yeah GT2 is much more arcade-y compared to GT5 but yeah, even though it was ultra-real back in the day PD must not have had the extreme boundaries of their physics engine sorted out yet. I would reccommend searching for the GT2 Escudo on Youtube... it'll probably make you want to try GT2! (you should anyways regardless of the Escudo - still an epic game!👍)

GT2 is still the best game ever.

GT5 is better, but I love GT2 more.
It's nostalgia, I remember all the good times I've had on that game.
I wish I still had it...was testing a tune for my 'Cuda and the game froze, I was furious and I smashed the disc onto my table, two times. Needless to say - the disc broke in half.
That was some 5 years ago.
:dunce:

You should've chucked a controller instead!:)

Maybe try Ebay? My disc in in great shape, but we put the PS1 downstairs in the basement a while ago and I've yet to be able to find it again...

The PS3 plays PS1 games. Just not PS2 games.

As for the controller thats why my L2 button is broken and I often flash band myself while playing call of duty.
