Ok i have been playing this game on and off now for what? Since release date. There is just something about the controls off the car that doesn't manage too excite me.
*The carphysics looks awesome
*The camerashake of interior view is very good.
*In the cars seem too handle pretty realisticly.
Believe me i've tried too enjoy it, because i bought the ps3 for it. I have put quite a view hours in this game.

Yet i find it hard too get immersed in the game as the driving and racing aspect off this game is not fun or exciting. Maybe its because i use a ds3. But i also use a controller with Forza and thats like ten times more immersive and give better feedback on bodyroll and grip levels etc. I have about ten reacingames and both consoles so i do have some comparible tech.

I STILL have more fun racing and driving in Forza 3. It's the only game that can be named in the same breath as Gran Tursismo. I remember everyone saying it was gonna blow Forza out off the water but it did not and only solidified The Forza series as the new king. We have yet too see what Shift 2 will be like as a package. Shift 1 sucked, the only way too fix it is the ability too tone down the shakiness. But in a couple of months we can see the Forza 4 vs GT5 reviews up. I cant wait for all the trolling.

Anyway the post is about why Gt5 is not enjoyable IMO.
*Ai seems too also play a big role in this.
*The absence of Proper damage modeling and simulation.
*Track specific physics.
*No save tune option for tracks.
*Photomode made too complicated.
*Stupid wait after every menu transition.
*No brake upgrade.
*No 60 frames a second. the best it does is 40 to 50 on some tracks. I have yet too find a game that runs as smooth as Forza on 60 frames.
*The UCD only 300 cars availeble at any given moment.
*Redbull X1. nuff said.
*Car selection missing cars that SHOULD be in a game off this caliber. Koeniggseg, F50, F50 GT, F40 LM, MC12, Reventon, 360 stradale, A premium Veyron, Porsche carrera GT, E30.
*Absence of Real TopGear testrack camera view. just stupid.
*Not too speako ff the shadows, smoke and dirt.
*No side view of the car while driving.
I will have a lot off fun with the coming

Forza 4 since i'm still playing Forza i only completed 72,23%.
I think it will be able too do pitstops F1 style with Kinect, like augmented reality. I think T10 can make something epic this time around now that Gt5 wasn't what everyone expected off it. I mean common the Hype was big and everyone was claiming it was going too 's epic,huge,timeless....wow it now catching dust after completing A-spec and a lil B spec buit that 🤬 was weak 🤬🤬.

Yup. It's you.

Nah, just kidding. You make some good points, but they're a little buried in your rhetoric and poor spelling/grammar. In my opinion, GT5 is still a great game, and very immersive, despite its (many) flaws.

It's apparent you prefer the arcade style of racing such as Forza 3, which is more of a newbie type race (can you say rewind button). BTW I have Forza 2 & 3 and IMO doesn't compete with GT5. GT5 shines with online racing.

Yeah, you make some good points, like slow menus and lackluster AI and damage modelling. But it's hard to take you seriously when you just complain about the X1, not enough cars in the UCD, frame rate of less than 60, complicated photomode, lack of all the cars you really wanted (including some that are exclusively licensed to other games), etc.

Also, I highly doubt Forza 4 will have augmented reality pit stops using kinect...

Why does the X1 make the game less enjoyable, if you don't like it then don't drive it. Photomode being too complicated is a load of nonsense, photographers have been complaining of the lack of options with it, it's not hard to use. Porsche not being in the game is due to licencing, PD couldnt get one.

And aye it has flaws, but so do all games. If you like Forza more, that is cool. But GT5 is what it is, regardless of updates it is going to remain mostly the same. Will have to say though, driving physics in GT5 are a lot better than in Forza 3, and atleast for me the driving physics are very important when it comes to enjoyment.

X2010? You don't have to drive it (and if you had completed the Red Bull challenge you'd appreciate the car).
Photomode too complicated? It even lacks some options and it's easy to use.
300 cars in UCD? More like 30.
No brake upgrade? You can set up your brakes from Settings menu or RA Function menu.
Veyron is a bad car, PD doesn't have the licence for Porsche cars.
There is side view.
Game runs perfectly smooth.

Noone forces you to play GT5, if you don't like it don't play it.
Simple enough?

Very valid points. Most of these are common complaints with reasonable backing.

I'd try to play around with a project car. Go buy an Aston Martin DB9 and try to make it compete with a Ferrari 458. Forza is a much more structured game than GT, use your imagination and use everything from the tuning shop, to arcade mode, to drifting, to online racing, to photomode to learn how to enjoy the game. If it can't, then hey, you tried, go play Forza if that's the game where you have more fun.

*Photomode made too complicated.

for me its too simple.. I would love to see more options in photomode.

have fun with your Forza game then and join that forum. Cause nobody here wants to hear you complain about an awsome game in most of our opinions. I think GT5 does blow Forza out of the water.

you perfer forza over gt5..woah!! one less noob on the track.bye!

Posts like these "If you don't like it then that's your problem, go away" are incredibly stupid. To suggest that GT5 is at a point of perfection that the flaw lies in the player is ridiculous, and calling someone a noob because they have legitimate issues with the game is truly asinine.

How about if you don't want to talk to people about issues of GT5 and different ways to enjoy the good parts and bad parts of the game, you stay the hell away from these forums, fanboys. 👎

:tup:Your prolly right. but why come in here and complain about the game if he has more fun in the Forza game then why even write this post? he's just tryin to get people down with more complaints about the game. Every game has flaws but you dont have to play the game if you dont like it. Just giving the dude what he wanted. And that was trolling....lol

Anyways, if you dont like it then play your forza and sell your GT5.

Yes, but this topic is really getting boring since there are many many many similiar threads already complaining about gt5, so i understand that some gets frustrated on threads like these... like me.

Just my 2 cents. :)

👍 I'm with you there. The level of vitriol poured onto anyone who dares criticise the great GT5 is astounding, like some bazaar cult, where anybody who dares question dear leader means their opinions worthless. It seems you're only allowed to express your opinion round here these days if it's praising everything GT, sure the games good, but it has some glaring faults.

*The camerashake of interior view is very good.

I had to do a double take...

You can't be serious...

It's incredibly unrealistic. It's hugely distracting. Last but certainly not least, due to the "shake", the interior view is easily the least competitive view to use.

I have done a fair bit of real life racing (and drifting), and have never experienced anything like what is shown in GT5's interior perspective. Even at low speeds your view jumps around like the driver is epileptic.

I've been using cockpit views in sim/arcade games for as long as they have been available. GT5 is the first time where I have found myself switching away from the interior view.

Beyond that, I can't say I agree with most of your grievances.

I own Forza 3 and GT5, and Forza 3 doesn't get touched anymore. To me, physics are about 80% of why I play driving sims. Forza's physics (and track design) is so far from reality, it starts to lose it's appeal fairly quickly, for me.

The only area where we agree is the load times... Probably my biggest problem with the game... Waiting.... Waiting......... Waiting.......

;)

Not if i want too look at the car from differebt angles.
It's not 60 frames a second smooth..

I go back and forth.

You might be having more fun with Forza3 for the simple fact of these points.

The Main draw of the game is Painting not Racing.
The Tracks are more Interpitations then recreations. IE Wider track width to help new people pass.
There is no button mapping feature.
Got a wheel for FM3? Nice to bad the gas/brake are bound to buttons and not the peddles.
Online Racing in FM3 is all about getting a AWD Audi/Viper and getting max HP with all Assists on to stay competitive.
The Game ships with a rewind feature which caters to new plays to pick up and play. When you bill the game as a Simulator, this is something that shouldn't have made it past Brainstorming.
Graphics feature excessive lighting that gives everything a cartoonish look and helps show off new paint jobs.

To be fair, the X1 kinda gets shoved in your face by PD, and if you are going for 100% completion than you do have to do the challenge.

I do think the lack of Porsche is rather silly - the 70's-80's vintage 911 is my favorite car of all time, and Forza can somehow get Porsche yet PD can't? WTF? NFS games suck, they AFAIK only have the newer model 911's anyway. So now if I want to virtual race an old-school 911 I have to shell out a few hundred bucks for a Xbox 360 and Forza? WTF?

You wanting to do everything means you're shoving it in your own face. It's just game. If you don't want to play part of it, then don't. It's pretty easy.

It's called licensing. It's not silly. It costs millions of dollars and isn't even always an option if the license holder is not willing to license the product for use.

Guess what, nothing new, we know that GT5 isn't perfect but if you don't like it don't play it, you should already know who the videogames work-_-. There are lots of games that I can't find fun and I don't bother others with that...

Having played all three Forzas and GT2 through GT5, I can say without a doubt that GT plays wayyyy more realistic in terms of handling, car-specific physics, and challenge. What Forza has over GT is presentation/customization, and thats really about it. But most people dont play GT to create decorated cars or "pimp out their 22" rims", they play it to come as close to real-life racing as possible.

Your so LAME:sly: your trying too hard.👎

There is only 1 real problem with Gt5, and that's the amount of A spec races, all other complaints are minor issues. 👍

No need to be so condescending. I understand the concept of licensing, thanks. But it still sucks that if I want to drive a virtual Porsche on my PS3 I'm stuck with a crappy arcade racing game like NFS and even then I still can't use the 911's I really like.

Has there ever been a decent explanation about why Forza can get Porsche but GT cannot?

That said, I'm not a "hater" by any means. There are plenty of things I do like about the game.

Simbin titles and Shift also has shaky interior views. It's true IRL your brain stabilizes the image so you don't notice the bouncing of your head but IRL you feel those bumps while you don't in sims. This lets you know when your car in a sim is bouncing from a bumpy part of the road.

Forza has porsche because Microsoft aren't afraid to go throwing money at random people to get what they want. They are like the spoiled rich kid of Games consoles.
