OP...

Wrong forum, did you expect people here to say, yes your right we bought the wrong console and the wrong game for racing while the driving is ok everything else is dated. and.... blá, blá, blá....

Well let me tell you something...

yes you are right I bought the wrong console and the wrong game for racing, while the driving is ok everything else is dated (from car selection to the career mode) If I only knew, the thing is GT4 was awesome and the PS3 has better wheel support and unfortunatly Im not rich but Shift 2 is coming in one week and if that one isnt my fix than its time to move on to fanatec, Xbox 360 and Forza for some exciting racing and some up to date race cars...

You can bash all you like I have my fanboy repelent on... I was a big fan (not boy) of the GT series but not anymore. Seems like people get offended because someone express their honest opinion.
GT fanboy = GT AI IMO

Simbin titles and Shift also has shaky interior views. It's true IRL your brain stabilizes the image so you don't notice the bouncing of your head but IRL you feel those bumps while you don't in sims. This lets you know when your car in a sim is bouncing from a bumpy part of the road.

Sorry for the late reply...

You don't need the camera to shake to show what is happening with the car (bumps, swaying, etc...). You can clearly see what's happening by viewing the scenery outside of the window, and it's relation to the interior. Not to mention, if it was supposed to mimic driver movement (ala SHIFT) then the interior should be shaking too, not just what's outside of the window.

PD needs to give an option to turn off the interior view camera shake.

My .02 cents.

I liked the OP (loved the avatar) but don't agree with all the points.

Top 5 worst things for me are:
• The On/ Offline physics problem
• Lack of events > L30.
• Lack of Premium Models
• The rank and £ exploits
• The APPALLING textures that shouldn't be seen on PS3 / HDMI..
(dodgy Standard modelling & textures/ the Shadows/ Smoke/ Water Trail)

But on balance there is a huge amount of +:
• Variety of events / cars
• Custom tracks
• Weather / Time shift
• Online
• Tuning

I mostly collect cars now - the online physics puts me off any serious racing, and it's too frustrating to gold licenses on DS3.

I am ordering a DFGT wheel & stand in the next few weeks as I'm told that gives it a new lease of life... Might be worth considering?

Also think the OP needs to mix it up and race online some more - set up a room and do something different. Karts/ F1 / Shuffle / LM Night Race with FGT/ try different views etc. This helps for me.

We need some more Specials as promised, bit more support with patching, and then ultimately full DLC (Cars / Tracks), - and it'll still be the best racing [or driving if you want] sim for a fair while IMO. 👍 When PD are back on their feet I'm sure they'll be able to address MOST of those problems though. :indiff:

I've switched between both consoles to play GT5P, Forza 3 and GT5 respectively, right now I'm waiting to see if GT5 is improved by DLC and hoping Shift 2 is as good as it looks.

My best driving experience is the fantastic sounding P2 Acura at Road America in Forza 3, it's a real shame GT5 is missing so many modern LMP's, US tracks and is still lacking in the sound dpt.

I can't see me selling my PS3 but as it stands it does look like Forza 4 could be the definitive driving sim even if the game only offers minor updates and the latest road and race cars.

I'll explain it like this.....Forza much like Need For Speed and Many other racing "Games" are made to be Fun but what you are failing to realize is Gran Turismo is a SIM and while techically it's a Game it's not NFS or Midnight Club. Personally I hate Forza,NFS,Test Drive type games because anyone can pick the Skyline or The Viper and race like a pro, while GT takes the time to teach you Real driving and those with The Patience will be rewarded with the Skills to go play those other GAMES and dominate.

I only played very little of Forza 3 but what I did play felt very little like a Sim. It was more like a mix of Sim and Arcade. I won't knock your opinion because u have a right to spend your money as you feel, but I disagree that Forza is better, maybe more accesible to casual and Serious racing game fans, but that's about it.

I agree with you , Fm3 is one of the best games that the mix of sim and arcade right. A lot better than the first Shift. I have my doubts about Shift2 can match Fm3 in this area.

As someone who has played sims for twenty years I can safely say GT5 and Forza 3 are pratically identical.

Some GT5 fans have convinced themselves the game is a massively superior sim so forgive it's faults. I admit myself I only played the GT series and PC sims until a year ago so when I played Forza 3 I was shocked how good it was from physics to sounds and customisation.

Forza 4 needs to tweak it's physics to match GT5's, GT6 would need to overhaul it's content, game structure and customisaion to regain it's crown.
