What's your hi-fi system?Music

that's pretty much why I picked the 767 over the 878. Other than a few inputs, and 20watts, THX was the biggest difference. That and the extra $300.

The system I have now does crank. The Lobby scene in the matrix will stop you from blinking. As well as the title intro in Zorro.

Please take those god awful running boards of that landcrusier...

Get some nice ones, like the tube style:D

Anyways, nice suv, the older ones always look coler than those new ones.

I've only got a Kenwood Mini-Hi Fi system in my bedroom, but still sounds good. I'm getting the one in our lounge-room soon: Sony LBT-LX10AV Hi-Fi, with DSW and some nice surround sound I must add. We had a huge sub-woofer for a while, but it got a massive split. It sounded good, too. :(

I've got a 3 year old Technics hifi. Could've had DVD player instead of just Cd but for an extre £100. Very loud, around 350 watts 👍

This was inspired by vat_man's comment "newly upgraded amp", I was interested to know what hi-fi(s) members have. Include anything you have that you can be bothered describing, and in as much detail as you like. I'll start:

Living Room:
Amp: Sony STR-DB930 Dolby Digital Receiver
Source: Sony DVP-S725 DVD player
Speakers: Bose Acoustimass 15 (5x satellite, 1x sub-woofer)

Study:
Amp: Technics SA-EX500 Dolby Pro-Logic Amp
Source: Marantz CD-63 II CD player
Source: Sony MD-JS530 Minidisc deck
Speakers: Bang & Olufsen Beovox 700
Computer: SoundBlaster Live, Altec Lansing Dolby Digital 4.1.

Got a little portable in the kitchen and a clock/radio/cd in the bedroom, plus a "shower radio" in the en-suite.

You'll notice no tape decks. When we moved last year, we made the conscious decision to abandon tape as a medium. I'm quite into Minidisc as a format, and we have a CD-RW in the computer, so we threw out about 200 tapes. We're quite into our entertainment, as you can see, and we have over 600 CDs and over 80 DVDs.

Living Room:
TV: Sony 29" Flatscreen Trinitron
Amp: Sony STR-DB930D Dolby Digital Receiver
Source: Sony DVP-S725P DVD player
Speakers:
Fronts: Sony SS-X7S
Surrounds: Sony SST-X7S (x3)
CD Player: Sony CDP-CE545
Tape: Sony TC-WE435
Subs:
Sony SA-W101 (Active 60W)
Sony SA-W305 (Active 50W)
Videos:
Mitsubishi HS-M60V (Hi-Fi/Nicam)
Sony SLV-EZ77 (Hi-Fi/Nicam)
Consoles:
Playstation
PS2

Mobile: Creative Nomad Zen Xtra 60GB mp3 player

Bedroom: Computer 5.1 speakers with Active Sub which I hook up my mp3 player. A 14" Mitsubishi TV with Sony HS-M25 video.

Also own a Technics SC-CH717 (with Chase surround) on loan to friend.

My sister's boyfriend bought a '96(I think) Chevy Suburban 2500 4WD not too long ago and he's planning on putting in:

2 12inch Solo-Barbaric L7s
1 Rockford Fosgate Amp
Source: Alpine
overhead monitor by some maker like PEDO.
and some KICKERs for the mids and tweets.

I have an Acoustic Solutions CD player, an Acoustic Solutions amplifier, Teac dual casette decks, and an Accoustic Solutions DAB tuner (digital radio is that a british thing because when i was in NY everything was FM) All connected to a pair of £600 (about $1200) pair of standmount speakers.

Denon PMA-255UK amp
Cheapo technics tuner (it's old), but sounds nice
Harmon Kardon FL8450 5 disc multi changer
A pair of big 70w Wharfdale speakers, I like old speakers ;)

All bought second hand, total cost about £270, sounds GREAT!

This is hooked up to my TV and PC, cause ya know, PC and TV speakers suck.

Hmm. I thought I'd updated this thread.

Oh well. The upgrade bug was biting a while ago.

Currently seeking budgetary approval to rip all of this out. However, the approximate £6,000 budget is about £5,998 more than the Financial Controller wishes to spend

Study:
Amp: Technics SA-EX500 Dolby Pro-Logic Amp Deleted. Now a Marantz PM-7200
Source: Marantz CD-63 II CD player
Source: Sony MD-JS530 Minidisc deck Deleted. This 5 year-old deck was sold on eBay for 45% of its purchase price
New Source: Denon TU-260L Tuner. Bought from eBay for 30% of retail price. However, this too is scheduled to be deleted
Speakers: Bang & Olufsen Beovox 700 Deleted. Awaiting sale on eBay. Replaced with B&W DM602 S3 speakers on Atacama Nexus 6 SE stands
Computer: SoundBlaster Live, Altec Lansing Dolby Digital 4.1, iTunes.

Current plans are to replace the AV system in the living room with a Denon Amp/DVD combo, plus B&W speakers, and a 37"/42" LCD/plasma. Also, the tuner is going, because I can't run an internal aerial connection, and it's not very good without one. I'm also looking for an audiophile-quality soundcard for the computer.
