I don't know what "/thread" means, could you tell me?
That you just said everything so right with one post that you answered everything the thread was created for ,sort of beating the purpose of the thread

Am I right? All a matter of opinion..
If you were trying to race online in GT5 according to the GT Planet OLR, then you'd be wrong. If you were trying to race by your own standards, which is a matter of opinion, then you'd be right. It all depends to which set of rules & regs you were trying to adhere to.
Blocking on a straight in my eyes is poor sportsmanship.
Taking a defensive or "blocking" line through a corner in my eyes is okay, slightly poor sportsmanship but is rather common, plus when you're infront you control the corner and there's no real reason to mess up your line to let someone else pass you.
Intentionally swerving into the way though is the main thing that irritates people and will often earn you a swift bump into the sand at the next corner.
My take on Blocking is simple, swerve blocking is a nono, unnecessary early race blocks are garbage,
What's unsportsmanship about blocking ? leader has every right to defend his position withing a certified set of rules doesn't matter if on a straight or during cornering.
if the faster car is allowed a free pass on the slower car infront then that defeats the purpose of racing .
actually if anything swerving to block only once in a straight line is debatable yes F1 use this but GT5's draft is just plain stupid .
My opinion is not fact, despite popular belief
I think if you're slower in the corners and faster in the straights and you block in a corner, that's not cool to me.
HOWEVER that doesn't mean I think anyone should give up their spot intentionally, like I said I think taking a blocking line is okay if slightly rude.
It depends on the circumstance largely, but as I said in my post the main thing I consider bad is swerving into somebodies way. Hence "Slightly" poor sportsmanship. Not "really poor" 👍
I believe intentionally swerving to block a much faster car is completely wrong. Unless you are on the last lap and trying to protect your lead.

TL;DR: Blocking is a part of racing and is completely fine. If someone is going to make you mad because they actually raced you (the nerve of that guy huh?), then maybe your better off doing free runs and time trials. That's just my opinion.
JJSCHMITTY2000I mainly drive X1s, and when I approach somebody on a narrow tracks (the nurb), and they stay smack dab in the middle of the road, it irritates me so that I just kind of hang behind them and wait for them to crash, then zoom foreward. If they would move to the side, it would make my day.
Sitting behind them? Wouldnt that push them to crash?
Yeah, you wouldn't believe the power of sugesstion of crashing to new drivers who don't know to pull to the side when a X1 comes through. Just wait 10 seconds, then they spin out.
People probably don't get out of the way because there's a good chance that they're actually trying to realistically drive and be sensible around the track.
Then some crazy person comes at a billion miles per hour behind them in an X1, and actually expects them to ruin their realistic lap and get out of the way.
No matter what, an X1 is so unrealistic that you can be fast no matter how you drive, whether you're trying to actually drive or not.
If I were going to drive an X1, I'd be considerate of those drivers who were actually trying to drive a semi-realistic line and, instead of expecting them to get out of the way for me, I'd wait until it was safe to pass or I wouldn't pass at all.
If you don't want those drivers to get in your way, go into an X1 only room. Don't ruin the experience of those trying to drive something real just because you feel like being the fastest driver and want everybody to get out of your way. Just be considerate and patient.
Normally the faster car gets their way, yes. But the X1 is so fast that it gets almost no respect. So if you plan to drive it, just try and realize that people aren't gonna want to get out of your way, and you can't blame them when you're in one of those.. Those vacuum cleaners.
