I've always used the "bumper" cam ever since i played GT1. Yet ever since GT5 i cant resist playing with the interior view. It adds so much more depth to the game and i really enjoy it...Whay about you guys? What's your favorite driving view?

This could have been a poll :)
Anyway, I use the inside view? The bumber view is soooo last season.

yeah, inside view for me too. Always used the bumber cam on every other GT game, but theres something about sitting in your 300k supercar :-)

Depends if i need to win the race i use bumper as i am used, if im driving for 'fun' its in car ... but the on the roof cam in the replays looks also fun to try when 'driving live' :p

In a couple of cars (Tuned Viper for example) it's quite hard to see where your turning point is, especially on a track like Fuji, so I could see the benefit of sticking with the tried and tested bumper cam on that one, you'd probably be a fair bit faster!

Since GT4, I've used the roof cam view for serious racing, because it gives me a better judgement of the corners and better view all around.
When I started GT5P, I used the cockpit view a lot, but because I'm on an SDTV, I can't see the rear-view mirror without using the look left/right, so it isn't the best for online racing. So, seeing as I race mostly online now, I use the roof cam again.
The bumper cam is way too low for me and I dropped using the 3rd person view way back on GT3, nowadays I find it the hardest view to drive, the camera seems to move with a little delay in that view, or maybe its just because the perspective is so far back from the car that you can't quite see ahead when going around a corner, it sort of creates a blind spot.

we already had a lot of polls about this, it all comes down to "interior view" is the new standard and it's how it should be played tbh ;)

bumper cam since day 1 but ill adjust to the cockpit cam.

I wonder how close the G25 action ill do with the wheel on the car in the game will be.

Its cockpit/in car view for me as always, many moons ago it was third person view for me, for reason back then; I had the impression that I was able to see further ahead on the track. As a result predicting the car movement ahead. How it would brake, accelorate, with all the 'luxury of seeing further down the track.

With advancing technologies in gaming now-a-days, in car view is a must. Not just for feeling involved more so, IMO. I am converted to the in car view, well... I just have.

I am still wowed with the detailed interiors. Many times I have pranged into a wall, or come of the track. With "Oooh look at that they even have them, thingmy-jigs that you pull up or whatever they're called to flatten/drop the rear seats." Then its crash bang wallop.

Definitely cockpit view. Whenever a racing game has this option I use it. Bumper cam is the next best option so I've used it on all the previous GT games. I even used the 'cockpit' view on Tourist Trophy, which took a little getting used to at first but now adds to the realism immesurably.

Only driving game I use the behind-car view is Grand Theft Auto! Gotta see where those cops are...

Tell me about it!

At 180mph in the Ford GT at High Speed Ring:
"Ooh look, you can even see the reflections in the 'Ford GT' badge in the centre of the steering wheel..."
*Crash*

onboard view!!!!...no doubt about it !!...this is what i was waiting for sinds the beginning of the gt-series..and,after trying the bumperview in the beginning as well offcourse,i am so happy with the onboardview,i can never go back to bumper.....!
spyrrari.

I use the interior view, but if im having difficulty then ill switch to bumper cam just cos it gives you a better view of the track than the interior of some cars (Ford GT springs to mind).

Interior view, they modelled the entire inside of the car, would be a shame to waste it by choosing the bumper view.

Got to be in it to win it !

Some great texture work in the cockpits and the attention to the little details. Like the hud on the vette or the extra stacks in the tuned cars for example.

Does anyone have a manual for the GTR's stereo?

This could be great POLL :)

Hmm Bumper is my favorite, All the time almost in GT4. Now the cockpit view.. I Like it as well. So its hard to choose between the two

If bumper cam is the one with all the dials, Im using that. Thats progress for me I used the outside view for GT1-4. Bumper cam is so much improved in GT:p. I dont use the inside view because i have no interest in seeing the wheel or my hands when im driving quickly...none of that matters. I wont deny it is pretty but hey whats pretty got to do with fast...Ive owned many fast cars and the fastest dont even have a clock!....lol

The Bumper Cam is the Outside view and the one with the dials is "Cockpit View" / "Interior View" / "On Board View" :)

Since GT1 (and please dont fire me for this :p ) I have always used the Birds Eye (The third person cam) View. It as always helped me take corners better. I fail to even remember when did I last miss the apex. Specially braking and turning in late is easily achievable by me, when I am using that view. Even in Forza2 and GTR2 I used this view.. But now with an Amazing position of the Interior View (and also the fact that my G25 is arriving soon), I am planning to switch to the interior view.

Can someone tell me how the transition is?

Also this would be my FIRST experience with a Gaming Wheel, so do I need to know anything?

Does the PS3 have any way of checking the G25? As in without booting up a game, can I check the rotation and the power of force feedback? Coz I cant on my PC as I use a MAC and there's no drivers for Mac for G25.. (i am guessing)..

I'm exactly the same way. The reason I (and I assume, you) used the third person camera was because the camera is higher off the ground and it makes things on the horizon easier to see. With standard definition especially on the PS1 (or the PS2 in split screen mode), being able to see turns ahead from low to the ground is REALLY difficult.

However when I can eventually get my hands on GT5P / GT5, I'll be using the interior view 100% of the time.

Um er, next we'll have Formula 1 drivers using GPS to get around tracks.

Seriously lads, your taking away the whole game by using that birdseye view, In real life you can't see much of the corner ahead, drivers know the corner due to practice.

And to be honest thats the best way, so stick it in the in car view and hit those curbs like Britany Spears hits her vodka and you'll be pro within 1 hour.

Cockpit view is my preference accept for on the London course where i have to use bumper cam due to some screen tear and slowdown issues, cockpit view ads so much more to the realism of the game and they look superb .

I mostly use bumper, I can't stand swapping from RHD to LHD too often - plus some of the interiors really restrict your view of things

1) Its quite easy, I used to use the birds eye view till GT4 then I moved to bumper cam and loved it. Now I use interior view

2) Enjoy! ;) Thats about it!

3) Not within the PS3's XMB, you can only adjust FF settings, etc from within the options menu in GT. Its the picture of the DFP with arrows pointing left and right. Go in there and you can adjust the simulation of the wheel (Amateur, Professional and Simulation) and the FF (scale of 1 to 10, default is 5)

We don't use it for prettiness, we use it for realism... and the speed comes with practice ;)

Thank you so much mate! :) , You've made me all happy!!!

So I am guessing I should start with the default scale of FF or should I do it 10 straight? I want heavy stearing...
Dammit, cant wait for the wheel to arrive.. Damn the Sunday! :)

In GT1-4, I always used the chase cam (behind the car). In GT5:P however, I always use the the Interior view. I've drove the others 3 cameras at least once just to see what it's like. This is one of the very few games that i'm comfortable using the interior view.
