...since the Spec 2.0 update.

I used to used a controller sometimes if I was just playing around with settings etc. but since Spec 2.0 when you set the dual shock to controller one it resets the wheel to controller two.

Now I'm 99% certain is did not happen before, you just would not be able to steer using the controller when they were both set to controller one.

Anyway as I mentioned in my T500 specific post, I lost a lot of feedback effects when the wheel was set to controller two, so something for all wheel users to keep in mind maybe?

They were never able to be set to controller one at the same time. When you first turn on your PS3, plugged in devices that function as controllers (be it steering wheels, flying joysticks, USB dongles for guitar hero controllers) always have priority over your bluetooth devices. When you turn it on, your wheel is set to controller 1 and your controller to 2. What happens is that when you switch your controller to 1 your wheel is moved to 2, but GT5 knows (as it detects the right axes and force feedback capability) that you have a steering wheel connected.

Maybe you never noticed it but it happened before Spec 2, as that is handled by the PS3 and not in a game basis.

I've always set my DS3 to controller 1 to do settings, navigate menu's etc. the T500 reassigns itself as controller 2 but you still retain control from the wheel in race. I have not experienced any loss in FFB or sensitivity pre spec 2.0 or after the update. I have a V2 and have had no issues with it at all. Best wheel available IMO.

I am pretty sure I had controller as player 1 as well as wheel the other day but will have to double check...

I guess since they (kind of) fixed G27 button mapping they figure no one needs a controller along with a wheel anymore....

My DIY buttons box still function normally , so I sure it's not true.
Last night online race I use my buttons box to turn off ABS by RA menu. Nothing change after 2.0 : )

I've noticed this issue since 2.0. I normally can turn my DS3 on after a race to navigate menus in photo mode however now the controler does not auto assign as before. I suspect it may be to support the Thrustmaster shifter when it arrives as it's a standalone input device next to the wheel.

As long as GT5 has been out you've never been able to set two controller devices as controller 1.

Like someone else said, plugged in devices will take priority over bluetooth. Everytime I turn on my PS3 with my wheel already plugged in, it always gets controller 1 functions. I have to hold the PS button on a controller assigned as 2 to change the assignment to 1.
