I've ordered a WSP for the G25 in preparation for GT5.

Can anyone tell me if attaching your wheel/pedals is an easy process. Also I assume everything is included to attach these i.e nuts or bolts.

Im mainly asking because i've done my back in again and not up to anything too strenuous. I shall be glad to finally get the G25 out of its box because i've had the wheel for nearly 18months now and never used it!

Hows the FFB on G27? Im in the same boat as you, NEVER used a FFB wheel before but I got my Fanatec Carrera yesterday and it feels great.

The G27 Force Feedback adds so much to the racing experience. You can really start to 'feel' the cars you are driving.

For example, the Ferrari F40 in GT5p. This car was a beast to drive using a controller. I was unable to lay down quick lap times with the F40 without having traction control turned on. I used L2 and R2 for brake & gas on the controller. This at least helped (some) when trying to ease onto the throttle with the game more powerful vehicles.

The G27 changed everything. I am now able to really drive the **** out of the F40 with all driving assists off. Don't get me wrong, the F40 is still a beast, but i can catch the car when it begins to slide (counter-steer) and hold onto the racing line. Moreover, the G27 pedals are infinitely better at easing onto the throttle and brakes.

I've no experience with Fanatec Wheels, so i can't really compare the G27 to them... but based on what i read on the forums, its seems Fanatec and Logitech both make exceptional products

I agree with everything you said there and would like to add, with a wheel most people are afraid of it 'slowing them down' okay in my first couple of laps I was like 3 secs slower than a pad but it's a learning curve.

It feels so much better and Im like 5 seconds quicker than my pad times.

No need to answer my question as my Wheelstand pro arrived today.

Have to say im delighted especially as the total cost of Wheelstand Pro and my brand new G25 was £199.98. I think im right in saying the G27 costs alot more on its own and from what i've seen of the G27 compared to the G25 it isn't worth it.

Hi,
I've yet to decide on either the WSP or Rennsport wheelstand v2. Has anyone mounted the CSPs to the wheelstandpro? If so can anyone provide their opinion and or a photo of it attached.

Thanks,
Moo

To all Wheel Stand owners!

I am doing a litle research and like to find out why you decided to buy a WSP instead of the Fanatec RSWS or the other way round.

It does not matter if you tested both products. At the moment i would just be interested to find out your motivitation to buy either one of those.

So why did you purchase your WSP?

Or why did you purchase your RSWS?

This will help us to improve our product and service and will help others to make a buying decision. You can mention any argument like:
  • price
  • service
  • product design
  • product construction (adjustability, sturdiness ec)
  • user recommendations
  • test reviews
  • compatibility to this or that wheel
  • etc etc

Quite simply I chose the wheelstand pro because when i logged on to your site to order the Rennesport stand, the price had gone up, and the PWTS was sold out. I feel your stand is far too expensive, despite the extra pieces of metal you include, that would be useless to me.

I chose the wheelstand pro for a couple of reasons. Firstly the reviews were excellent. The second and most important reason is what I heard on the Forza forums. Allegedly Fanatec would take payment straight away despite the customer having to wait months for the product. Now in my opinion any online retailer should not take payment until just before the product is ready for postage. For example the payment for my wheelstand Pro was accepted on the same day it was posted.

That only happened when pre-ordering the PWTS.

I received My wheel stand pro a couple of weeks back and I'm loving it.

The reason I chose the WSP over the FWS...

Well I looked into both stands and read up as much as I could from all different forums. Early reviews of the WSP showed a few flaws in the design, that was promptly adjusted by the designer upon receiving feedback. The WSP also has quick release locks, for fast adjustments too.

The Delivery times for the WSP was also very fast, It arrived on my doorstep in four days
The quality of the build is superb too.

while waiting for the stand to arrive, I ordered some 12mm black split tubing from eBay to cover all the wires with, then cabletied it to the stand with enough room for the stand to be fully adjusted and folded down.
Now it takes me about 15 to 20 seconds to grab my wheel stand, unfold it, adjust it and plug it in... ready to go :)

It makes no sense that now, going for the RWS, we have only the option for V2 that includes Pedal Stopper and Shifter Plate for G25/G27 if all we want it to hook it up to a GT3RS V2 CS Ed....okay, the Pedal Stoppers could come in handy (but still they are not mandatory to play with ClubSport Pedals)...but Shifter Plate for G25/27? Makes no sense for a buyer going for a Fanatec Wheel...

FANATEC, please, costumize your bundles so that we may chose between RWS, RWS + PStopper, RWS + Shfter Plate G25/27, RWS + Shfter Plate Porsche Wheels, WS + PStopper + Shfter Plate G25/27 or WS + PStopper + Shfter Plate Porsche Wheels. It is not that hard to do!!!

With the current offer, I would go for the WSP...it is available and costs less (and works with GT3RS).

.

I get your point and I will consider a price drop in the near future.

EDIT: Just reduced the price to 119,95 € so price should be no more issue ;)

Great News!!! Specially because your products are the ones I want!!! (and please Sony, launch GT5).

When is the V2 bundle going to be available for the US store, and at what price?

I was going to buy the WSP this week, but now that GT5 is delayed, I can wait a little longer.

If you wait too close to the next GT5 release date, you may find your stand delivery delayed too, due to high demands.

Get your order in sooner rather than later.

Have any Canadians ordered the WSP from the European store? Just wondering what fees you had to pay when you received it. It seems like it would be cheaper to order from the European store than the US store, since the US store uses UPS and will have high brokerage fees.

You're right. I'm ordering soon (probably 1-2 weeks before the "real" GT5 release date) and I'm going to get it from the EU website. We're lucky to have a forum member who has pointed this out. I think it's 40$ brokerage fees.

Edit : Fanatec.. - any news for North American customers concerning the inclusion of the shifter adapter with your wheelstand? Or any price drops coming?

I'm in Canada and ordered from the CDN website, I was not charged with any brokerage fees at all.

So you received your wheel and there were no brokerage fees? Did UPS or Canada post deliver it?

Fanatec, I'd also like to know when version 2 of the wheel stand will be available in the US. I'll be working in the US for the next couple weeks and i'm thinking of shipping it to my hotel.

On the WSP, are the pedals totally flat as they would be when they sit on the floor?
If yes, is there any way to create some angle and retain stableness?
Cheers. 👍

Hi, my rennsport wheelstand arrived on Thursday past and just now assembled it. I've read many reviews saying the main post is rock solid but I have tightened the bottom knob as much as I can (hand almost bruised ) but it still has a bit of play in it, mainly in the direction towards the pedals or towards the user.

Is this to be expected or have I done something wrong during assembly? That or maybe I'm expecting too much from the stand. Anyway, if anyone has any advise it would be appreciated.

I have had my stand for just under a year and I have had this play since then, Like you I was disappointed with it and have periodically tightened it up (it takes too much effort to tighten it for me to put my stand down after each use!!) However the movement is not noticable once in use, (if your anything like me; I am too pre occupied with driving as fast as possible to be put off) only after a session will I become aware of the movement you describe.

All I have to do is remember is how bad it was trying to control a wheel on my lap to appreciate the job the stand does. I hope this alleviates your worries.

Thanks for the reply, without the stand I have no way of using my turbo s with my xbox/ps3 (without re-arranging my room anyway) so its definitely not unappreciated. I am fine with a bit of play but there are times when I am playing and if for some reason maybe pushed the wheel slightly forward or back towards me during steering, I become aware of the pole moving.

If this is to be expected then no worries, it still does a brilliant job anyway

Please make sure that you also tighten the screws to the aluminum tubes very tight as you can because this can cause movement as well. Normally there should only be some minimal flex of the material but it is absolutely irrelevant during gameplay

I have tightened both the screws which attach to the aluminium tubes using the large allen key as tight as I physically can, they do not seem to be the problem. The main stand section which can be folded down I think is causing the problem. I have tightened it as much as I can but you can still push it about an inch forward or back with minimal effort. I tried using a wrench to maybe give me a bit more leverage on the knob but all it did was scratch the plastic a bit.

Not sure whether this falls under the flex you mentioned but it definitely looks like it has more play in it than some of the fanatec stands I have seen in youtube videos.

Hi, are we talking about the main knob, on the very bottom crossmember ? That locks the wheel stand in the upright position, or untighten to fold down.
Without takeing mine apart to completely check, the round bar the aluminium feet etc bolt to, prob can go 2 ways around. Theres a hole in it for end of the knobs screw to go into, to firmly lock at 90 degrees. Even when locked in hole, its not perfect thou, have to adapt a bit, when CBA'ed to take apart. Unless they have drilled at each end ie then don't matter which way fitted.
Just a thought, V2 version for info.

Cheers BOB
