I had one of these when I was younger.

And he always used to battle with:

Alex The Kidd was awesome, that brings back some memories.

My dad was given a Master System II which included that game, but I only ever played that once. I also have copy of Shinobi.

Had that on PC when I was about 13-14, I loved that game, the 406 Peugeot, Honda Accord and Vauxhall Vectra were my favorite cars to use.

I never had the first game, but I do have ToCA 2. All I remember is how insane it was to race in the Formula Ford events (wheels touching almost all the time, which resulted cars flying everywhere). The BTCC cars were much better to drive though, especially the Accord and the 406.

Mistakenly rented this from Blockbuster with my friends:

One of the best mistakes we ever made. Whole thing was in Japanese and we couldn't figure out a thing, but it was SO MUCH FUN.

I used to rent Shinobi all the time from my local video store.

I really liked remote controled cars. I was dreaming also of a mini helicopter with a camera and all because I saw it in a movie!

I also had some traumatic experiences like when my dad bought me an ATARI 2600 (loved it eventually) instead of the NES, and when I bought a fake megazord that wouldn't disassemble. ARRGGHH!

Most magical moment as a kid would be bringing home the N64 and running around with Mario!

Hiring a game by mistake you say? Happened to me too, I took the command and conquer box to the counter, yet when I got home I had ended up with some game called Total Drivin'. Best mistake ever.
Couldn't find a proper youtube vid sorry.

I loved that game :D I have fond memories and still remember the Rossi/Morgan teams (And how crap their sports cars were, though if I remember rightly they made up for it in rally/dakar). Roberts FTW, plus whoever had this sports car:

Could never seem to do well in the Indycar races though :dunce:

I spent all day finding the hidden tracks when I was young. 👍

This looks remarkably similar to the one that I had when I was a toddler! Mine was for flying a yellow/orangish plane, though. Is it the same?

Well, that's not the one I had. Just a Google search to represent it. But it could be the one you had. Either way, they were all awesome 👍

Subuteo anyone? I've no idea what the real way to play was or what rules it had but I do remember playing a lot with it. :odd:

When I was a kid one of my favorite toys was GI JOE.... And my most valued vehicle at that time was this 3 foot monster! The Phantom X-19... after looking it up I realised its from 1988.... seems so long ago... I was 7.... :p I don't see toys of this size anymore... but then again I don't even remember the last time I set foot in a toy store...

Edit: This thing was actually pretty pimp looking back... I was spoiled as kid.. :p

Just looked up Subbuteo. Man, that looks awesome.

Damn, I was begining to think that I was the oldest person on these forums. Good to see some folks here from my generation...god, I sound old. But yeah my old time favorite toy was this

Starscream. I had lots of toys, but this one stood out the most. He turns into a jet. A ****in JET. Lost him at a beach by burying him (like a retard) in one of the beaches in New York. Never found him.

...better made as well! :dopey:

How about one of these...

I had one of those! We would set up rediculous jumps down the stairs and stuff.

Scalectrix was where it was at though. My uncle had a set in his place in Paris that was MASSIVE, it was the thing I looked forward to most when heading over there! He gave it to me when I was about 6 and I kept it for about 20 years before accidentally leaving it in a wardrobe when I moved out of a house I was renting.

My first introduction to racing games was Pole Position in the arcades on holiday. Then stuff like Hang On and Super Sprint. Later we got a C16 that had a couple of poor racing games for it. But what got me hooked was when we got a C 64 and a mate leant me REVS with the track pack, which included the Nurburgring!

I remember being utterly blown away by an early beta of GT1 (I worked for Sony when it was on development). At the time, the graphics looked so real... They look rubbish now!

OK, quite a major confession here. I used to be a member of my local Scalextric club in the late 70s/early 80s where we raced in leagues but were also allowed the freedom to design and build our own cars. We used Hornby train engines and stuff like that as they would spin incredibly fast with the higher voltage of slot racing, but only last a few races. Good times. I still have all my cars, including some rare hand-made stuff and tons of track which we drag out now and again.

Anyway, all the UK clubs entered the National Championships and I won ours in 1981. I then went to the finals in London and became the 1981 Eagle-Scalextric National Bronze Medal winner - I still have the medal! Won about £250 quids worth of kit, which was a lot then.

Also ran a few 24 hour charity races on a 6 lane reproduction of Brands Hatch - except it had a figure of 8 configuration where Druids should be (I could never work that one out).

[/reminiscing and confession]
