I never tried it until the beginning of 11th grade, I was 16 then. My first time ever drinking, I got plastered. It was at our high school football game and I was drinking bacardi 151 mixed into a 1 liter bottle of coke.
I started to drink occasionally after that (about once a month) then I started to go out every weekend once summer came around. I even remember one night in the summer that we drank 3 times in the span of less than 24 hours, we started late one night, woke up the next morning, went to practice, drank after practice around noon, then went to a football game around 6 or 7 and drank then too.
It has gotten out of hand a few times. When my parents found the 15 or so bottles in my closet, I quit for about 2 months. But when I had quit I realized I was starting to do things worse than actually drinking (i.e. smoking pot, taking various pills, smoking a lot more cigarettes) So one night I just gave in and started drinking again.
Since then I haven't touched pot or pills (cigarettes are a different story

)
My parents have now accepted it, under their terms of course. I am never allowed to get in a car while drunk or with anyone who has been drinking (this is, of course, common sense anyway), and I am to tell them where I am going to stay on a night that I'm drinking.
So basically now I drink about once a week. All in all, I don't see it as a very bad thing, as long as I'm not out on the road or something stupid like that. As long as I enjoy drinking in moderation, which is no more than twice or so a week.
The weirdest thing is how quickly your tolerance goes up. When I first started I can remember getting hammered off of 2 drinks. Now I can drink 6 beers and not even feel a buzz. And I'm not a big guy by any means (5'7, 125 pounds). Does anybody know if a tolerance can be lost once you get one?
