Speaking of BOB. Since you can start races on the internet while away from the PS3 and leave BOB to do everything, does it mean we no longer have to do the PIT stop duties? As far as I know, in GT4 you were in charge of the things that happened during a pit stop otherwise the car would just sit there. To me that was very stupid cause I still had to sit there and watch everything. If I have to sit there the entire race, I might as well be racing myself.

If you didn't touch the controller, it would wait for a short time and then take over your pit duty's. I remember falling asleep and waking up hours later to find my guy still running the 24hr with a full tank and fresh(blue) tires.

Six months or less. Unless I decide to overpower the field, I imagine that I'll have some difficulty adapting to the new physics on city courses, which have been the bane of my GT existence since inception.

You know Jump_Ace, SlipZtrEm, and Geomil21...next time I'll remember just to take a picture of my completion, even tho I'm more than 100% sure I finished everything there was in GT3. Dudes, I broke down when my PS2 file was erased.

So, within the next two to three years I will post 100% in GT5...hopefully!

Steph, I already stated i was mistaken and that i was thinking about GT2.

"Due to the rushed release, it is only possible to complete 98.2% of the game in the earliest North American version. A reference to drag racing in the game's manual, and the fact that there are three drag racers — two which can be won from races, and the last one by race modifying a Dodge Intrepid — strongly suggest that drag racing was to be included, and, though the racing aspect was removed, the record-keeping aspect was not. The name of the removed drag strip (Palm Strip, which Polyphony Digital misspelled as 'Plam' Strip) is shown in the intro movie.
In the English-speaking PAL version, players can reach 100.9% completion, due to the presence of both Vauxhall AND Opel manufacturer races, absent in any other version."

Yeah Dude, I read your post earlier. No hard feelings, just saying Im going to document my progress for GT5 to see how long it will take this time.

Well with GT3 and GT4, I completed both around 2 years. That includes stepping away from the game for a few months, and what not. With GT5, I figure 2 years, maybe even more.

I have a feeling that online play is gonna prevent most people from getting 100% anytime soon. It's just way more fun to play against others and compare lap times to the rest of the world. Back in the day when the GT series didn't have online features it was fun to try reach 100%. Nowadays I feel less people care.

Definitely over 3 years!
This game will have so much offline content plus I'll wanna play online so I will never get around to completing some of them.
If playing gt5 earned me money, then maybe wouldn't take so long, but I'm just a casual gamer so will be a long long time.

argh. I just sat there for 10 seconds and nothing happened so I gave up. Thanks for the info.

I never had 100% in GT4, but i played constantly. Even if it was to compare ghost times around the nurburgring with different vehicles. Now with the track editor, i'm sure i will spend countless hours on GT5 and that's not even mentioning online, creating GT_Planet clubs and races. Oh lord...has 5 years passed already? LOL, one more month to go..wow.

I'll probably get close, but definitely won't be hardcore enough to complete the whole game. But I will definitely get all the cars in the game! :D

Haven't finished one yet save prologue. No idea if I will. I'll likely drive the most efficient race for money like I usually do.

Ya never know though.

Come again?

I believe you! The reason I remember it being 100% in GT3 was because people won a bonus car (or two) upon doing it. I was actually in the process of replaying it and GT4 in preparation for GT5, so I'd double-check... if I hadn't given up about 20% in. No point now, 4 more weeks and all...

Oh, also, someone mentioned in this thread that they didn't have 100% in GT3. Double check your Arcade Mode has the Time Trials complete.

Probably it would take me about a year to complete the game.
Though I have been super motivated to start GT5 finishing 100% GT4 with 100,000 a-spec points. I'm just 3K shy of the 100K mark. Still lots of endurance races (I will B-spec races longer than 4 hours).
Actually GT4 is possible to be done twice (I have already the black FGT) but this time I concentrating on at least 100,000 pts.

I can't believe I've been playing GT4 for nearly 5 years and its successor is still not out there, but we're almost in the finish line, so it's time to get a PS3 (geez finally)!!

you missed out possibility:
never because of lack of two f&%ing gold licences... (sob)

It is a pitty because the steering of GT4 is so much different to GT5P...
You really need a bit time to get used to that arcade style...
I only need in gold:
> Le sarte complete with the bentley
> Nordschleife with the benz evo
Not the easiest with PAD...

I guess the last 29 days until GT5 is the best to finish this!
Besides GT5P has come a bit boring to me...

It's not my goal to play 100%. If online racing works smootly, than that's where i will spend my time.

When I've tuned every single car in many different levels of performance, so......never. 100% might be a different thing, and that's going to be 2 years, 3 months, 1 week, 3 days, 16hrs, 12mins and 19.853sec.

Whenever it says "100%" . No seriously, I voted by the time GT6 comes out because I've never 100%'d a GT before, mostly due to me being young and inexperienced but, this time around I will put alot of extra effort.

GT5p was easy for me. I had the game but then sold the PS3 and the game because I realized GT5 would be at least 2+ years. Sold my PS3 in November 2008.

Never. I could honestly care less about licences, and championships. I just wanna drive cars.

Poor poll. My answer is probably never. Not because there will be something too hard (Mission 34 was relatively easy), but because I don't really care for 100% and won't do all the races. I don't have that much free time and there will be so much to do in this game.

All gold license tests is the goal for me. Hope they will be harder this time.

i never completed any of the previous games 100%, i got to around 95-96% in GT4 before i sold my PS2... but my goal is to hit 100% this time around, not sure my GF shares that vision though :)

With well over 500 new members signed up in last month I thought I would see if this poll could get some more votes. Maybe after a couple weeks I might try to do the poll over again to see if the results have changed after players have had some gameplay (Mods PM me if you think it would be an OK ideal to have a poll after game has been reviewed by others).

Last vote was Oct 19 2010 with 243 votes.

It really is hard to say not knowing what all there is to do. If it is anything like GT4 then I would say within a year or so but who knows. Online racing should be a big part of GT5. I can see myself spending a lot of time tuning for and racing online instead of GT life all the time.

Should be fun :)
