Where are the CARS?!

Wat has happened to all the cars  In GT1 and GT2 they had a good amount in GT3 they have all moved out. no more second hand cars and only 2 or 3 cars u can start out on and they're crap. watis up with that?!?

Well, you always don't start off with the best cars, and one of the better things about this game is graphics. Total cars is 181 in PAL so it is reduced considerably.

I have all the cars in the game and I dont have enough time to drive them all. But just on Thursday I decided to sort by mileage and I am taking every car at the lowest spot and entering it in a few tournaments etc until they have about 50 miles. Then when I get back to them I will drive them for another 50 miles etc.

So right now my total mileage is 45,000 and my lowest car is the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI Tomi Makinen Edition (non-stripe). Mine is black with gold BBS rims. It has 12.7 miles and I am doing Japan Champs Amateur and as many other tourneys as I want to including GT World Beginner.

My highest mileage is Escudo with 2,470 and that is because I always do the rubber band trick on Super Speedway endurance. Next to that is F094/S with 1,117 because I have now done Formula GT twice. Then after that is SVT Mustang at 1,095 because I used it to do super speedway like 6 times to win an F1 and it was also one of my first really powerful cars. After that is Miata (950miles) Skyline GT-R R34 (706) and then is starts dropping off pretty fast.

each GT3 car has 10x the polygons of the GT2 cars. now, granted this is on a (4GB+?) DVD, but there's the scenery...and Bobo the monkey.

If they put all the cars from GT2 in (and there's no reason they couldn't) then we would still be waiting for it to come out. It takes much longer to model the cars at the level of detail used in GT3. And as 12 sec pointed out, you won't have time to drive the ones that are there anyway.

I read an interview that said the used cars were removed because the older ones (ie. R32, EvoIV) were just as competitive as most new cars, so they moved the older models into the new car section and jacked up the price.

Dont worry, GT4 will be better. ;)

can you back that up?

i think there will be less cars, due to car damage and other such things they will prolly add :/

I guess what u have to is ask urself what you want. lotsa cars, less cars but better looking, or damage and other goodies and even less cars.

I like the gt3 setup with better graphics and a little less cars... :)

I think there will be more cars (PD more experienced) because there will also be more cars on the road...

car damage, car damage dont get me started on car damage  in gt2 they have that on arcade i hate that thing. its not the amount of more up to up-to-date cars im looking for the old dodge's

Trade offs?
There're nearly 200 cars for the game. I might be nuts, still think that's impressive, especially given the licensing.

And I actually like racing with the lower powered cars like the Miata.

between the 2 tunnels @ Trial Mountain, there is a felled tree laying diagonally across the track. sitting on that tree is a monkey, and i believe the concensus name from GTP is "Bobo" :).

5 bucks says that car damage ain't comin' anytime soon.

To do so would warrant massive amounts of work and disc space... probably even more than the actual car itself (just speculating there)... as real as PD wants theGT series to be, I highly doubt car damage will be added... simply too much work.
