There are currently no F1 races online. You can only use the F1 in arcade mode. There were F1 online races in the past, they might come back whenever the next online update comes around.

Just got the F2007 last night, and i had one race about 3-4 hours ago. Its 20 laps :/ There was only me and one other guy, He was from Japan. Being my first ever race with the F2007, and using a Sixaxis, i did crash a lot early on and i got lapped around lap 7. Then i sort of got the hang of it and nearly got past him (although i would have still been behind), but then i had to let the dog out, so he lapped me another two times whilst i was basically stopped in the road
My best laptime was around 1:35, not half bad for my first try i feel.
Anyway 👍 to the guy i was racing, he was pretty quick, i think he averaged 1:34 a lap, or something along those lines.
I'm not used to pro physics with Rear wheel cars so i kept getting wheelspin. To get the cash to buy the car, i spammed the S6 race on standard physics, you get 40k+ for doing a 2:20 - 2:25 lap of Suzuka, so it didn't take long
) Maybe next online update will feature a F2007 race.
