I was watching the latest commercial for Land Rover's Range Rover Sport, and wanted to know where that stretch of road is loacted.

Here are some pics I took of the commercial:

I have no idea, but is it not the greatest irony and proof of the main usage of an expensive modern 4x4 that in all those hundreds of square miles of off-road terrain, the Sport is being driven on the smoothest stretch of ashphalt I have ever seen.

That's exactly what I thought when I saw the ad.

I'm sure i've seen something similar photographed in the Al Hajar Mountains in Oman. A quick Google Earth of the area seems to point to the mountains looking pretty similar. Not conclusive evidence i know, but i bet its in that part of the world.

take a new range rover off road are you mad?
they fit in well with the countless other big vehicles that just happen to be 4x4 meant for the road and challenged by wet grass

i think TheCrackers right, around there anyway

It reminds me of when Top Gear took that Bentley to Dubai, so I'd say its probably Africa or the Middle East, but I'm guessing it could be one of a thousand places so basically I have no idea.

The Stelvio pass is closer to home in either case...

The Range Rover is actually built to go off-road.
(Considering your quoteing straight from Top Gear and if you kept watching that review you would have seen where Clarkson was saying how amazing it is off-road.)

i wasnt quoting from top gear :odd:
havnt and will probably never see one go off road and in the mean time the decent land rovers that were actually (rather than just said to be) built to go off road can still do it much better

Looks like that place that Topgear did there recent photoshoot for TG Magazine with the Bugatti and Koenigsegg.
