ask, and i will tell
saw this photo in the realistic thread and was wondering where exactly it is on the ring.
NrburgringNordschleife_16.jpg

anyone know where?

Deba94 should get the best response of the year award or something. That second video is some of the coolest footage of the ring i've seen. well done.

How annoying would that be, if you were on your one and only lap and you came up behind that thing, especially on that part of the track. Do you think maybe the driver took a wrong turn on the way to the car park?

haha I doubt he took the wrong turn.

I was thinking the same thing about being stuck behind it on that part. It's like the Annoying Devil and his Fiat. 👍

Except worse.

Thanks a lot for the replies! 👍 I pretty sure I'll be able to find it myself now. And special thanks to deba94 for that detailed response! My idea was that I could get some good pics going past the sign so if anyone wants to send me an FR and I'll work something out. 👍 👍

I am assuming that the sign is in German and I'm too lazy to type it into Google translator, so would someone be kind enough to translate for us non-German speaking racers? Much thanks in advance. 👍

OK, I wanted to see what the sign said, so I took my lazy fingers over to Google Translator and this is what it came back with:

"Taxis are included in everyday life and come out of Stuttgart. This is not the everyday."

I am assuming they are referring to a BMW Taxi that takes you around the ring or something. I better read a couple of the links in this thread to find out more. 👍

Edit #2: Googled it and found out what a Ring Taxi does. 👍

To understand the sign fully, you need to know most taxis in Germany are Mercedes Benz. Mercedes Benz (or Daimler) have their headquarters in Stuttgart.

In normal everyday life cabs are beige colored and come from Stuttgart.
Here however, is not normal everyday life

Yep, which would be Brünnchen.

Was that a TOUR BUS running on the track with the cars and motorcycles??!! Was this just a "Run what you Brung" day at Nurburgring? This is SO COOL!!

The one thing that I cn say about GT5, is that it has given me a totally different appreciation for Auto Racing! Here in the states, we get NASCAR and NHRA Drag Racing shoved down our throats, I sure would like to see more GT and Rally racing!!

I'm gonna look for more on YouTube!! :) 👍

The ring is considered a Public (Toll)road, sometimes you can even find a RV running a lap.

My car and motorcycle assurance says it is valid for every public road excluded the Nürbergring.
So it is public road but gets treated somewhat different. :D
