Not to mention the longer wheelbase on the new M3. I do prefer the E46 models too, they're just better cars in almost every way than the current gen bimmers.

Not really. I've owned 5 of them and currently have an E92 M3 convertible in my garage. It replaced a 2006 330 C with the Performance Package from BMW Individual.

The new M3 is a much better car than the E46.

In reply to the OP: I enjoy the Z4M Coupe. Takes a while to set up properly and you have to drive it well to win. But, it sounds just like a straight 6 ought to sound and it's a lot of fun to drive.

I just tried out my CSL because of you guys. No Mods, no tuning - Instantly became my new favourite car! It's only 4 seconds slower on Trial Mountain than my fully tuned Ford GT 05 (no stripe). ( maybe i can't drive the GT? )

Would love to try out the M3 GTR, but i didn't see it yet in UCD.

EXCEPT the Diesel 120d car. cant be %*!@ driving any diesel car . Im a big big BMW FAN. M-POWER !

I got my ass handed to me by a diesel golf in my GTI at the last autox. Those suckers have torque. We don't get many of the diesel BMWs over here but I hear they're quite nice.

Simple : All. The M3 GT-R Race Car is a very good race car, I completed nearly the whole game @ GT4 with it. I didnt use it much in GT5. All premium BMW's are sick drift cars as well. I got every BMW, V12 LMR, M3 GT-R, M Coupe etcetera etcetera, EXCEPT the Diesel 120d car. cant be %*!@ driving any diesel car . Im a big big BMW FAN. M-POWER !

You might want to give the 120d a try.. I use it sometimes in hp-restricted online races. It is fun to beat the usual assortment of wing monsters in a beige (!) Diesel :dopey:

1Series Tii Concept or something (the one whit the striping) Is fun to drive.
It could use a little more power. But whit a good setup its realy nice.
Dont install the Rear Wing (if its even availeble) it screws up most cars handling if the front downforce is not availeble. Fast corners cant be done if the rear downforce is to much.
If u got rear downforce u need Front Downforce to be 2/3 of the rear minimum for good bmw driving :p .
(my opinion)

The M3 GTR Is Good To but its like a overweight Touring car But its only 1100+kg
Still it has nice amount of power. Cant find the right setup i think.
(There are more fun cars of the same class out there).

I know its not anywhere near as fast as those BMWs y'all are talking about, but I happen to be a big fan of the 1973 BMW 2002 Turbo. It's an absolute pleasure to drive, and I am relatively quick with it anyways. 1:27.5 is my best 450pp/no aids/RS time on Laguna Seca. It could be tuned up more still, but I'm trying to keep it legal for the Vintage group we're getting together on here (PM me if you might be interested in that =p)

The 135, all stock, except suspension tuning, and around the Nurburgring is a joy to me. It was surprisingly quick for stock performance, and is capable of kicking the rear out on hard throttle.

M3 CSL. M3 GTR is a bit faster, but has more of a road legal race car feel to it, and is not as "lively" and fun to drive as the M3 CSL. Among other ~360 bhp stock cars, it's certainly one of the fastest.

Extremely underated cars - those who know, know, those who don't - miss out.

In the sports hard rooms i have hosted there is always someone with CSL owning everyone else (not me). Wouldn't really call it under rated...

In GT4 The GTR and CSL were equal around Nordschleife in my hands. The lighter engine in CSL evened them out. Haven't tested them in GT5 yet...

I'm with the CSL crowd here. Not only the the most pleasant BMW to drive but the most pleasant car in the game to drive (for me).

I like the M5 - 2005 model (UCD option, not the new one in the Dealerships). Its a blast. You can powerslide it around superbly. I sold my first one thinking I would "upgrade" to the premium car version, but I just couldnt enjoy the Premium version. Recently found the 2005 version again on the UCD and bought it without a thought, enjoying it again now :-). Maybe I need to work on the new one more :-)

Also the LM v12 is a great machine. I can get around 1.01 on the DF Track on that. It's a hoot.

The 2002 Turbo for sure. Some later BMWs are fun, too, but I really love the 2002.

For a road car the CSL is my favorite Bimmer. The funny thing is that I bought one early on and max modded it, and I didn't like it. But later on I picked up another one and tried it out stock. WOW! This car should NOT be modded.

For a race car the GTR Race Car is my fav. One of my favorite cars in the game period.

I like the BMW that's in my driveway, but in GT5, I've taken a liking to the 135i with a few mods (ECU, intake, sport exhaust, LSD, etc.). Also, the M3 GTR rules!

135tii Concept. Just as superb and wicked fun as the 'regular' 135i, but looks alot better with the slightly different bodykit up front and nicer side-skirts :-)

Can anyone say why people here seem to prefer the Standard BMW M5 '05 over the Premium '08 M5? I think its about 140kg lighter, but is there more to it than that?

Edit: Created thread for this, but feel free to answer here too :-p

 E46 M3 CSL.

The 1 series and M Coupe are pretty fun too. I drive all of my bimmers completely stock BTW. My 666hp M5 is an exception, though.

Ok, I bought the M3 CSL after seeing the amount of praise for it, so I'll test it the next time I'm on GT5. I also bought the Premium '08 M5 and unsurprisingly, I love the thing.
