fully tuned evo RS sounds 03 good,

btw, if u tune at different tuners, does it actually make any difference in sounds, i.e. if you tune it at HKs or let's say MINE'S ?
Yeah, that's what I would like to know.

although i am partial to the chapparals. nice throaty growl in low revs. by the way, i wouldn't recommend fully tuning a chapp 2d. you stick a stage 4 turbo and trhe horsepower goes up from 440 to 1040. now you may think that sounds fine and may be thinking "yeah, ok, it now has 1040hp, what your prob?"
Well, the 2d only has 3 gears, but they are very very long, which means by the time you get out of first, the car is already doing 130mph. and then after that the turbo consistently kicks in, which means the car is going like a greyhound on nitro glycerine (you know what i mean, but if you don't it means the car is going very very fast!)
So, ok, you may think that sounds good, but unfortunately, with the car going that fast, it become highly unstable. if you were to turn hard while going down a long straight like mulsanne on le mans, that car wouldn't know the meaning of the word "control". the car would simply spear off into the barrier and then spin wildly. and i should know. i did that once. luckily it wasn't in a race!
So, what the point i'm trying to make? only buy a stage 4 turbo for a chapparal 2d if you feel brave enough to handle the car at high speed. plus, with such a large turbo kit, the turbo lag in first gear is HORRENDOUS! but mind you, if you tune the auto gear to maximum, and teh put it onto the max speed test, this thing can to a phenomenal 270mph+!!!

anyway, i'm drifting off the point of this thread, so i'll just shut up now!!

I just noticed something, I won the Corvette C2 69 Race car.

I'm off to the ring to test it, while testing it, my dad says, wow the sound sucks!
I raise the sound, put the car at idle... he went Woah!

That car with 5.1 surround system is magnificent!

Yeah, that car sounds amazing.

i think the gt-one has the best sound when loud and purely because its so indastinguishable (not sure how to spell it but its an abreviation of different) from other race cars with that loud roar, especially coming out of the pit lane awwwww :D

I like the sound of the Lancia Delta Evo street version with racing exhaust and racing tranny (with short settings of course). I like to take it to Citta Di Aria and do some very aggressive laps with it. :)

The old Audi Quattro sounds absolutely nothing like the real thing. My dad used to have one and it sounded absolutely incredible. Why on earth can they not make the cars sound right!? You'd think they'd never heard a rally car in their lives. The majority of the cars on this game have no exhaust note at all. Completely useless..

you create a better game and I'll buy it...

its not going to get there till it comes out on a better system.
consider this. gt3 was good, now gt4 is running on exactly the same system. there have been no system upgrades, no processor upgrades, no ram upgrades, no video processor upgrades, your ps2 is exactly the same as the one you played gt3 on. thye can only push this now old machine so far.
If they add something now it usually means something else has to suffer so the game runs smooth.

I'm extremely happy with gt4 and would be very hard pressed to find anything to complain about. in fact it would be the limitations of the console and not the actual game I would complain about anyhow :)

I think it's time we got back to topic although I completely agree with you Ving.

The best sounding car in the game has to be those Nissan LM cars like the R89c, the R92cp and the R390 GT1

Now I KNOW you're not going to believe me, but my lil black beauty of a

RenaultSport Clio 2.0 16V

has one of the coolest engine sounds I've heard, it's fully tuned, save for stage 3 NA tune (it's got stage 2 and 269hp). It's an evil rasp of a noise, just delicious, like a proper race car's.
That the tiny thing is black as night and has a monstrous aftermarket wing on the back just nails the point in :)

Hmm, if it could only 'outnoise' the shredding tires when the NOS kicks in.... :dopey:

Does modding a car without changing muffler change the exhaust note (apart from maybe adding effects like the sound of a wastegate)?? I thought only changing muffler can change the car sound.

Did anyone ever try to switch the sound from Stereo (or 5.1) to Mono? You might think im mad, but it made quite a difference in volume and clearness of the sound.

When I set the sound to stereo, I only hear your engine sound, unless I switch to behindview. Put the sound to mono, it'll mix both the engine and muffler sound together, which makes the total quite a bit louder and imo nicer.
