I would say the car that sucks a lot and shoudn't is the Spoons Sports S2000, it's just the biggest dissapointment for me in GT3 it lacks speed and all. It should be as fast as it's counter part the S2000 LM Dream Car

Other than that the Escudo Pikes Peak Edition sucks, just to much power, no handling whatsoever.

the ctr2 is by far a better choice than the escudo. ( and that's not to mention the fto lm, impreza lm, and zz2.)

anyway, later. :D
In the hands of a good driver, the Espirit V8-SE/Sport 350 (no real difference besides slightly higher downforce in the S350) Zonda C12R, TS020, C5R, and R390 are all very fast machines. I rank them higher than all the cars you mentioned besides the ZZII.

I don't get it.

You knock my choices to replace the escudo, then you list a group of cars with something besides a 4wd config.
:dunce:

:sly:

Try catching those little things before you shoot me down, if not that fire you put out just might end up being friendly fire. ;)

:D

Of course you like rwd more, but that's just the point... anything other than 4wd cars are not an issue in this specific scenerio.

You qouted...

With a quote like that, how in the world can you list a group of great cars and act like I neglected some of the best cars in the game?
:irked:

Not to get bent out of shape or anything here, it's not like that. But for sure... that fact (regarding 4wd) is key to this discussion.

I mean...
I mention a replacement for the escudo and give 4 of the best 4wd cars in the game; then you come in and disagree only to name 4 of the best cars in the game (although I must admit, the c5r is second to the oreca in gt3).

Anyway, yeah.
No big deal... just tryin to defend my previous post, which reminds me...

The fto lm, impreza lm and ctr2 are all good cars regardless of what you compare them to.
The fto lm is right there with the zz2.
The impreza is miles ahead of all 4wd cars beside the zz2 & impreza.
And finally, the ctr2 is a great little monster for serveral levels of competition.

First off, the ctr2 is capable of a perfect 2.000 pwr which serves quite well for olr races under pwr restrictions (along with an implied 4wd standard).
Second and more importantly, the ctr2 is a work horse for all the newbs who needed an 800hp rally monster.

So yeah!
:D
Catch you around.

It's all a sense of driving style. Now that I'm getting used to competition drifting I prefer MR the most because of its natural ability to steer it self through a corner, and FR because a well tuned FR and be steered with the throttle. 4WDs just push alot (except the ZZII which is why I like it so much). I'll have to agree though the FTO LM and Impreza LM are great cars. Just not my jug of iced tea :D

I still feel like your missing the idea that other drivetrain configurations are not an issue in this.

We are very specifically talking about a replacement for the escudo.
That limits you to 4wd choices.

However, you are totally right about the choice of drivetrains... MR, FR, RR any day of the week over a 4wd.

1 thing about 4wd that is so tough is the tuning.
You really have to get the settings right on a lot of 4wd competitors before they are at their full potential.

Anyway, :D
Nice talkin with you though... this sort of post is what I enjoy the most at the gtp forums. :D

why cant we keep things positive... we all have dislikes and favorites.. its all a matter of taste and skill

Soz, I never read between the lines that you were limiting yourself to AWD cars, if thats the case the first two I'd grab are the 993 and the (R34-based? Sounds like it and its AWD) ZZII :D Although I do have a RWD 'Carerra 2' 993 hybrid thats otherwise stock and is also a blast to drive :)

You do know what a 993 is right?

The CTR2 is the 993, whereas, the 3400S and the RGT are the 996..

I know the 993 is a CTR2. The 'Careera 2' was a 4WD-to-RR conversion.... but the stock is an alternative to an Escudo P.P.E. Isn't that what I said?

I would think that the worst car would be the car that posts the slowest lap times(thus ruling out the escudo), but in terms of least favorite cars to drive, the escudo is at the top of many's list. This can probably be appointed to the escudo being out of its element on road racing courses and being insanely overpowered.

You know, I was just thinking about it, and really...

One big problem with the escudo is the fact that the car is meant for 1 race on 1 track.

In gt 1 or 2 (can't remember which at the moment) that track was there, but in gt3 it's not.

What track you ask?
:dunce:

The Pikes Peak Course.
The Escudo was designed to race the pikes peak run and not much else, if anything.

So, without the p.p. course in gt3, the escudo is really all by itself in the corner with nothing to do.

Maybe that's why the escudo is such an oddball in this game.

If you dont mash the gass and are carefull w/ your cornering, the escudo is the best rally car in the game... I cant say the same for road racing

GoKents for a little more info there were two pikes peak tracks in GT2, the uphill and the downhill, the Escudo was built speciffically for the uphill. It still races the uphill, I think :D

the reason its got so much horse power is because as you get higher up in elevation, horsepower decreeases. That car kinda reminds me of the Mine's skyline, which i think is a great car once you get used to the fact that you cant keep your foot to the floor all the time like you can w/ most of the cars in gt3.

The Escudo is the biggest waste of time in the game. What PD should have done was to
include the Pikes Peak downhill stage to accompany this otherwise undesirable race car.

What purpose did you intend for this thread? How are we supposed to judge them?

Or are you simply posting random thoughts?

Topping my list, would be the Escudo, as it's no real contender for anything other than a Fast top speed. Even in standard configuratino it's so hard to control, that it's nearly worthless.

AO
I agree with you, AO.

you could say the same thing about hundreds of cars in gt3.. but the escudo is only good for rally and testcourse, so pound for pound its the worst car.

Demon, the Escudo is built for the uphill... although it would be fun... or aggravating... to drive the downhill in that monster.

Wouldn't it be cool if GT4 could include a fantasy Pikes Peak Paved downhill?
