Well the ford escort is a pretty pathetic car, a little fwd coupe with no power at all it was never anything special so I'll take the Evo.

You son of A... I drive a pathetic FF coupe with no power. :guilty: :)

I don't think that describes the cossie though. It was 227 HP turbo from the dealer and had 4wd split 35/65% front/back.

2002 Mazda RX-7 Spirit R Type B (Japan only) vs. 2002 Nissan Fairlady Z Nismo R-Tune

venue: Riverside International Raceway, 1960 layout:

Not really sure but would think it would be the fairlady Z. since it`s been through Nismo and it is a pretty potent car stock i think it would take on the RX-7. but it would be a close call. that RX-7 is one of the deadlier types(if i`m not too wrong).

New one: Ferrari F50 VS Koenigsegg CCR

Well the Ford Escort and Mercury Lynx are the same (I think)

But 227 HP? 4wd? Proposterous! The top engine trim for the 1995 Escort was a 127hp 1.8L inline-four on the GT... (and if you don't believe me here's the link.)

Oh yeah, Ferrari F50. Even though it's getting a little on the old side, it still has more hp than a CC.

HAHA, yes, the normal ford escort yes. but the escort RS cosworth is a completly different machine. since Cosworth is going to build the new skyline GT-R-engine it just proves that they know how to build engines. and they better get more then 127hp out of one of their most brutal models ever

and i would say the ferrari aswell. it`s got a better setup alltogether. i don`t think it`s any road-car that could take it on a track....

Instead of comparing 1984 De Tomaso Pantera gts's let's compare some cars someone other than the 30 year olds on this site want to talk about...

Lamborghini Murcielago Coupe Vs. Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster!
Oh a tough one!

BTW, guys, can we try to post why we woud think it would win? I know some have.

i`m putting my money on the roadster cause of the lower weight. altough i don`t know how much stiffer the other car is.

i`m not 100% sure since i`m not a diblo-fan but i think everything but the looks/weight is the same on those two cars. and it should, as i said, make the roadster the winner.

Audi S1 Pikes Peak edition and the Peugot 406 Pikes Peak car.

EDIT: the Koenigsegg CCR has bout 270hp more then the F50. so i`m not that sure anymore.... but i still think the F50 would win... i think....

if you don`t belive ME, check here: RS Cosworth Specs

he did indeed say the RS cosworth. not the normal 1.8 escort :)

I'm going to go with Peugeot, since Peugeot is a car we don't get altogether;

Audi, on the other hand, teases us with much milder versions and sells their top cars overseas :grumpy:

Aah! Classic one:

You see, even our muscle car dads were once kids (believe it or not) who also liked small cars. But instead of using turbos and nitrous, they found the biggest and baddest big block they could find. This, youn'guns is the birth of sport compact:

1974 Chevrolet Vega with a 454 vs. 1974 Mord Maverick with a 429.

Oh, and this showdown starts at the christmas tree :trouble:

Holy crap, I've never saw an Escort like that! How many did they make/import?

dunno, i live in norway and we have loads of them :dopey:

altough i don`t really like them... but the point was that it was NOT the car you thought it was. and because of that i actually think the ford would win over the evo. unfortunatly :scared:

Well I live in the good old U.S. of A, and I've to see one yet.

The vs. still stands:

1974 Chevrolet Vega with a 454 engine swap vs. 1974 Ford Maverick with a Boss 429 engine swap.

1/4 mile showdown.

vega = 2219 to 2404lbs...depending on bumpers ex. new engine
Maverick = 2968 in stock trim 2 door 2900 = grabber model ex. new engine

chevy 427 ZL1 = near 500HP

Ford 429 in the most powerful cobra model = 375HP...so...we have a winner

If the engine's swapped, then it's probebly tuned. Both could make 600hp easy if worked right.

But I'm still glad you chose Chevrolet :) 👍

1984 Mord Mustang SVO vs. 1989 Pontiac Turbo Trans-Am 20th Anniversary

Venue: Sonoma.

None were imported to the US. I think there are only a handful here, and none are street legal. I've only seen one in my entire life, driving along the edge of Lake Garda in northern Italy on a rainy day.

ok, 6 rule applies..

Ralley Prepped Evo vs baja prepped lancia stratos...best of three 1/4 mile drag, 24 hours of Leguna Seca, and 10 laps at Tahitti Road

Once again, Evo, Evo and Evo.

Next round David vs. Goliath: Ferrari 575M HGTC vs. Lotus Elise 190.

Venue: Silverstone

Im assuming you are both running stock. The 328i has a 185HP 2.5L. SR20DET is a 250HP 2.0L @ 8 psi.

Winner: 240sx.

On a circuit like Silverstone, which especially when the full circuit is used, is a fast one - the Ferrari would win easy, on a track like Cadwell Park - the Elise would probably win.

Lancia Thema 8.32 vs 03' Honda Civic TypeR

He was right. The Koenigsegg easily takes the F50 down. The Koenigsegg has alot more power where the F50 is doing 204 to 205 as a top speed, the CC is doing over 230MPH. :scared:

well how come the F50 takes the mclaren F1 EASELY on the track then? when the F50 has a top speed of about 340km/h and the mclaren has a top speed of 393km/h? have you even read about how the F50 is set up? it has the wildest setup i`ve EVER seen. and the CCR has a top speed of 395+km/h according their homepage.
