Which cars disappointed you most?

I'm new to GT5P and just going through my single player quest now. I just saved loads of money ($350,000) for the Ferrari 599 and I have to say I'm extremely disappointed. I could have picked up a Lotus 111R AND Mines GTR for that cash (two cars that seem to be widely talked about here).

Just so I don't make this mistake again I thought I'd ask what cars others here have been disappointed with. I'm not interested in knowing the obviously useless cars, but the ones that you love because you saw it on Top Gear or you've got a poster of it in your garage, but once you drive it in game you realize it just isn't what you expected.

I don't want to buy cars that won't help me win races.
 
The lotus's in this game are rubbish.
 
I absolutely love Audi's and I work on them day after day, but I'm very dissapointed with both the the Audi models.

Well 599 is also pretty heavy in real life zo a tuned lotus could be beating, then again a tuned lotus may not have a stereo, nice seats etc but in a game you dont really need that. :sly:

At first i also hoped the 599 was quicker then it apparently is but its a fun car to drive on the rights tyres, nice and tricky 👍

Edit: Car that dissapointed me was BMW M3 :( Cant keep the thing steady.
 
I'm gonna guess that Turbo is trying to troll you. The lotus 111R may be hard to drive, but once you get its handling down it's possibly the best car in the restricted races. As far as cars I was disappointed in, I would have to agree with the M3.
 
The car that disappointed me the most was the 599GTB. Waaaay too hard to keep right on road tyres of any sort, but then again, I am a Sixaxis user. The Fiorano gets trounced by the Viper and Corvette in a straight fight. Probably gets smashed by the Lexus, BMW and SL55 too!

Aston Martin DB9.

Purchased it last night for 181,000 credits and its a good car, but not as good as I was expecting.

My favourite car is most def the Mine's R34 GT-R! Either that or the Ferrari F40, turbo lag is a pain, but once you figure out how to keep it under control its brilliant!

What are you guys serious i love the 599 and it may be crushed by Viper and Corvette on straight but on corners 599 monsters both of them. ;)
 
Yeah 599 is fun, i have to recall M3 as most dissapointing as i now found a brilliant setup in the setup forum for the M3 and its a brilliant car now!

Dissapointing car i found Alfa Romeo Brera... its slow but that slow :|
 
M3 is the most disappointing one for me; Still can't get higher than Bronze on the Eiger time trial; closest I can get is half a second off of Silver, and that was a fluke apparently, as havent been able to get near it since! Just can't seem to get dialed into it like I can with the GTR, Ford GT or F430. ho hum!
 
M3 is extremely disappointing. A lot of this comes from the poor quality of the sound of the car. It is just a constant whine. Acceleration seems mediocre, so too does handling. I'm sure it is a much better car in real life.

The M3 would have to be the most dissappointing car in this game. Its slow acceleration, to its sluggish engine sound. When you think of BMW, you think of quality, fast, performanace and Luxury. I guess BMW is def AIMing for a luxury car and not a sports car or race car. The Z4 is just a dissapointing, with its bull dozer handling, and slow engine.
 
The f40. For the price i was hoping it would be almost untouchable but i really hate it. Slow acceleration, understeer and a hideous price. I cant bring myself to sell it though because the resale price is so poor!
 
yeh i couldn't agree with you more, it's annoying that the ///M Division are focusing a bit too much on the luxury side instead of the driving. the E30 is the ultimate followed by the E46, E36 and then miles below the E92! M Division need to sort their game out.

Disagree completely, can be made to dominate all simply because they're so good in the corners.
 
Well for me I would have to say, the BMW M3. I am BMW freaky....and no way this car handles like this. I know it's tricky to drive one after seeing my people reviewing this car but this car just handles pretty bad. I think PY kinda rushed a bit with this car and didn't give the right attention but I know I might be wrong too since this car is a little tricky still with all the technology involved behind this car I don't think this car drives like this at all. So yeah BMW M3.

Trust me when I say this....the sound on the game kills the looks of the car real car in real life. There's nothing more beautiful than the new V8 M3 sound. IT sounds like the M5 V10 inspired engine from F1 and my God...the rumble on this thing is just incredible. My friend he just got one and my God...it's beautiful and it's mean and might fast. So it's the game...not the car in real life! :P
 
The ford gt. It can't be that hard to drive in real life. I know the top gear lost control of it, but in the game you can't even control it at low speeds without a lot of practice. I'm pretty sure I could set in that car in real life, and at least drive it down the road without crashing it. It took me a couple hours and the right tuning in the game to be able to even go through the second turn on the high speed ring at a decent speed.

funnily enough I actually found it easier to drive with all the aids OFF - having any kind of traction control on meant it kept oversteering through fast corners; turned it off and managed to run some decent laps in it in stock trim.
 
I find no cars disappointed me but what am going to tell y'all that there is no other game that gives you character in the car that's the magic, instead of thinking of competition and struggles with the car why not think deeper than that because each car is unique in a way

I'm on the same road with the Amuse S2000. Not disapointed at it but driving it on Daytona Road course witth some gear ratio tweaking actually gives you a fun wheel spin. :sly:


I'm a bit disappointed at the F40 & the fact is my favorite car (2nd) it lacks acceleration at times & feels uncomforatable while turning as in you have to be completly straight to have your speed. On the bright side, it performs good & handles great.
 
The Ferarri 599 did disappoint me to start with, but i'm gradually tweaking the tuning on it and am finding it quite a blast to drive.

I agree i think its the game, But in real life this car is no joke. TOO FAST plus that V8 But I have a feeling that PD will tweak the car in the updates.
 
The BMW tii Concept really disappointed me when I first drove it. The tires felt like they were completely bald, as the car had no grip. It seems to be different now, though.
