Definitly the both lotus tuned and untuned and maybe 1 or 2 others.

I noticed that there hasn't been a mention of any AWD cars here.

HURRY UP WITH THE UPDATE PD!!!!!

Once the update comes around, I reckon a lot of the aforementioned cars, the M3, the 599, the DB9, they'll all get sorted out.

The F40 is a monster of a car, it purportedly does 12 second quarters in factory trim, so how can you say the acceleration is slow? Compared to what? The car will happily smash 200mph and stay there all day, stunning considering it's a 20 year old car.

Anyone find the ridiculously overpriced SL55 to be a pig to drive? I mean that Merc jiggles around corners like a '64 on hydros. Awesome acceleration, but the car understeers like a bear on ice.

Audi was meantioned and the only Audi's in GT5P are AWD.

Personally I don't see anything wrong with the 599, DB9 and M3 in GT5P (M3 is not so forgiving when pushed passed it's limits, but has great cornerspeed when driven correctly), I have tested them all in my own way and they are about what I expected. The F40 has ridiculously long gearing but acceleration towards the upper powerband is quite brisk. SL55 is a two plus ton Autobahn cruiser, I expected it to be somewhat of a pig when pushing it in the corners.

Yeah it tips the scales quite heavily, but the car has more understeer than a Daihatsu Copen and that's simply not right. Drive the SL55 hard around Eiger and you'll know what I mean, there's too much giggle in the front geometry that doesn't feel at all right considering this thing is an AMG weapon. I don't mind understeer at all, but the way the front of the car bounces at full lock when being pushed hard means that it feels like it was tuned by a 3 year old kid.

Certainly not worth the asking price!

I have driven all the cars on Eiger, yeah it's got quite a lot of understeer which I expected on a car like that (and power oversteer), the SL55 AMG managed to outpace the Evo X, IS-F and compare very closely in lap time to the E92 M3. Faster than I expected.

I hate to say it:scared:, but:nervous:...the Ford GT, I don't know what polyphony did but in GT4 I loved this car, & now in GT5 P the car is nearly impossible to control in the corners:(, WHY POLYPHONY, WHY!!!

Yes!
That thing is bouncing and rattling through EVERY turn.
Another error I think. That can't be realistic.

Three words. ALFA ROMEO BRERA. Overweight and 0-60mph in staggering 6.8s.

Okay, I have to side with the Lotus Elise in the games. I don't think I'm really as disappointed from a flaw with the vehicle itself, I just think I expected too much out of the little girl. I love the real life Elise and Esprit and the whole Lotus lineup. I think that I began to expect the car to corner better than it does as a result of reading about it, watching Top Gear and whatnot. I built the car up so much in my head that I was disgruntled when it didn't handle like I wanted... and when it didn't have an oil slik for my opponents behind me.

You gotta use the brakes(no braking when you are turning). When I'm on the daytona track I only use the brakes to bring it down to 160 mph.

Which cars disappointed me the most? The GTR because that CHEAP car beats a F430!

Honestly, the Lotus Elise, all of them.

Audi TT, Mercedes SL55 AMG, BMW tii Concept

But the worst is the Ferrari F40. It feels twice as heavy as it should be (the real F40 weighs somewhere around 2,425 lbs), its tires are more like concrete bricks, and there is way too much understeer. The only upside is the speed. An incredible car in real life, GT5 did not do it justice.

Ya know, I drive this car with 0 abs and its impossible to apply ANY amount of braking in the entry to a corner with out the thing going into oversteer oblivion. I understand trail braking will induce car rotation and the MR layout has it's distict inertia but man.... it's a bit much I feel. Must I do all the braking in a straight line to avoid this?!
The GTR without abs seems to suffer the same problem. Please someone tell me, is this exagerated bit too much or am I driving them with improper technique.:scared:

Dissapointing car i found Alfa Romeo Brera... its slow but that slow :|
That's because it ís slow in real life.

Which is exactly what it does in real life. I'm sure it's disappointing, but it's certainly not the game's fault.

Well, that's exactly what it does in real life. :) See the Top Gear F430 vs GT-R to see what I mean. Can't blame the game for that. ;)

I went out of town, and am glad to see so much feedback. Looks like a lot of people agree with me about the 599. Good to know about the M3 and DB9 too. I may have bought an M3 because I love the 8300rpm V8, but won't now. Thanks.

I find no cars disappointed me but what am going to tell y'all that there is no other game that gives you character in the car that's the magic, instead of thinking of competition and struggles with the car why not think deeper than that because each car is unique in a way

I completely recognize this fact. I didn't create this thread to bash cars, I just want to be smart with my money as I'm making my way through the game. I'll have to get 17 class A golds or 11 class S golds just to get back the money I lost on the 599. I want to buy cars that win races, then, once I've completed the entire game I'll spend money on cars for their character. All of these cars have a place in motorsport. :)

One would expect that you can take a car for a test drive before spending your hard earned cash, right? Well, not in GT5P. ;)

Out of a handful of cars I've actually driven in this game (using a SIXAXIS):

Mega disappointed with the Amuse S2000 GT1. Expected more stability with those aero parts, but its nothing more than an oversteering, wheel spinning nightmare with the most minimal of throttle movement. Plus 7 speed gearbox + big ass turbo? did Polyphony model this car wrong because the one that was shown in a few episodes of Hot Version was 6 speed and NA, aka S2300 GT1.

NSXs were a big let down too, don't get me wrong the NSXs were fun in GT4 but the slightest steering input will induce massive oversteer in GT5P.

Particularly flabbergasted by the F2007's online races: N1 tires on an F1 car on London? (rather than a flat out R-tire race on Fuji and Suzuka) WHAT WERE THEY THINKING...

the tuned cappuccino...no way in real life is a tuned cap that slow. First off all if had any internals done and a bigger turbo it would be hitting 10k no probs at a quick pace. It felt like driving my cap with a full exhaust system and a bit more boost thats it.

You all know of the final race in the S-class, so you obviously know you need a really fast, good handling car to beat it. A while back I had the most frustrating time ever, I tried using my Mine's skyline, F430, & even my Ford GT with no success. The Amuse S2000 GT1 that I raced was really pissing me off for the shear fact that it would pull away from my Ford GT while I was drafting it! I was short on cash, pissed off, & was not thinking clearly...i sold almost all of my cars(i had 12 at the time), just to buy the Amuse S2000 GT1, which turned out to be a night mare to drive, & not to mention, a collossal waste of money. I couldn't help it, i spun out or over corrected on every corner, after 2 hours of using different cars & constantly failing...i put the controller down & turned off the PS3. The next morning I used my Mine's Skyline & got 2nd place on my 1st try, I was happy & pissed off @ the same time, i sold a bunch of high dollar cars for a useless hunk of junk I never needed!🤬

Lesson learnd: do not sell any of your cars just to buy an expensive car when you're short on cash, in the end, you will be paying way more just to get them back.

Who said anything about the Tuned Cappuccino having tuned internals?

Cappuccino drivers are nuts, they think their Suzuki's run 0-60mph in 8.0 seconds on some websites (STOCK!) and reckon they'll top 120mph easily (STOCK!)

I reckon the Tuned Cap is a hoot to drive, couldn't imagine having one much quicker! How fast do you guys think these cars really are?

One would expect that you can take a car for a test drive before spending your hard earned cash, right? Well, not in GT5P. ;)

From the "my page screen", if you go into options, go to Miscellaneous, then select utilities and turn auto save off, that way you can purchase a car and try it out, then if you don't like it, quit the game and restart it again (don't forget to save your progress before buying the car you wan't to try out).

was not blaming the game, ;)
but its just dissapointing, such nice car, so slow. :banghead::grumpy:

Yes I know it is true. haha 👍

Are you serious?
The lotus is a big disappointment after riding in a real one.

He's right. My buddy just bought a 2005 lotus elise the other day. He added a custom supercharger and a few body mods off an exige (I'm not sure if thats how you spell it). That car is a thing of beauty. The cars in the game do not compare to the way that car handles, it was like nothing I have ever experienced in my life.

After we took a spin in it we came back to my house so I could show him my racing sim setup, we turned on gt5p and the last car I had driven was the lotus. I sat down and went to the high speed ring to show him the game and was astonished. I use to love the way that the lotus handles in gt5p, I thought that it was the greatest thing ever, but after actually riding in one at speeds in the range of 130 mph, I can say that the game has it all wrong. I couldn't believe how easy it was to get the car loose on the game. In the real car you could pretty much do whatever you want and not even worry about it. In the game you had to really watch your self or you would be sideways in the middle of a turn. This was literally minutes after setting in his car, I could still feel the butterflies in my stomach, and gt5p completely took them away. I would have to say that riding in the actual car completely ruined my lotus experience in the gt world. And I would assume it is the same for anyone else who has actually had the opportunity to ride in any of the beautiful cars in the game.

There is one in sydney with 131rwkw and tops out at about 260km/h has no problems beating slightly tuned silvia/200sx/GTST/GTTs on the straight. 0 - 100km/h in about 8 seconds sounds about right for a stocker. There just as quick as a sr20de Japanese spec pulsar SSS (100kw) With a full exhaust system running 10psi, coilovers mechanical diff. I had no problems with keeping up with much bigger cars at wakefield park around the corners. Such as your R33s, S15s and mx5s etc. On the straight the sil and r33 had no problems over taking braking into the first corner, lets just say i didnt let them get to far. :sly:

When i get a tuned ecu and run about 15psi it should give me about 70 - 80 rwkw in car that weights 700kg is pretty dam good. Dont doubt these cars because there only a 3 cylinder.

Remeber the cappuccino has great power weight ratio. I was more dissappointed at the fact the accerlation is pathetic on the tuned cappa. A real tuned cappa will be more poke and have better accerlation.

If your in Syd more then happy to show you my cap.

What you're suggesting is 80 rear wheel kiloWatts from an ECU and a mild boost? Hmmmm. Theoretically that works out to about 105hp at the wheels and if you were to take into account drivetrain loss (let's say... 22% drivetrain loss), that works out to about 130bhp at the flywheel.

That's double what the standard engine puts out. Considering the Cappuccino is already running boost (you'll have to enlighten me on standard boost levels, I'm guessing 8psi stock), the suggestion of getting an extra 67 horsepower from such a small engine with an exhaust, boost upgrade and remapped or custom ECU is highly doubtful.

I'm not a Cappuccino owner though so I might be wrong. I have no doubt that you can extract some large numbers from these things, but 0-100km/h in 8 seconds is way off the mark for a stock car. 0-100km/h would easily take 13 seconds +, the Honda Beat does it in 14.5 and that's mid-engined with better weight distribution, equal horsepower and equal weight. It might not have the torque of the Cino, but torque doesn't take 6.5 seconds off a sprint to 100km/h.

Look at the car from a power to weight ratio. The stock car has about 11:1 power to weight ratio (11 kilos for every HP), your average Spec R Silvia has about a 5:1 power to weight ratio. The Spec R will dash to 100km/h in sub 7's (6.5secs?), so you're suggesting that a car with a much higher pwr/wght ratio is only 1.5 seconds slower?
