The Silvia Varietta is probably the worst car in the game - no speed, no handling and no tuning (271hp tops).

The CR-X delSol is also a convertible, in the same style as the SLK230 (or the other way around, rather).

Technically the Tommy kaira ZZ-II is a convertible, as you can lift out the mid roof section (apparently).

You also missed off the Tommy kaira ZZ-II, the Vauxhall VX220/Opel Speedster and the Lotus Elise 190.

My favourite is probably the VX220/Speedster.

Actually, it's worth a note that the VX220 and Speedster, whilst being the same car, are different.

The last time we used one in an OLR, those of us who have access to both cars noticed about a second per lap difference in lap times - in favour of the VX220. The cars were identical, fully tuned and set-up identically... Double spook!

weird... well i only have access to hte speedster... and its still a great car... after it i would say the s2000 and hte cobra are great

I must say, if you can hold the Cobra at 1500rpm (and your stereo is good enough) you can actually cause localised diarrhoea. Great noise.

Ditto to the post above, the best "True" convertable is probably the Griffith 500.

It has a 300 Hp V8 in it an weights about 2300 pounds.

I have also seen pics of the Tucan Speed 6 with no roof(t top), so by that classification id have to go with it.

Sorry for not putting some of those cars on the poll! I just forgot about some of those cars you guys mentioned when I made this poll.

By the way, my favorite is the S2000. I'm sorry if anyones favorite convertible is not on there...If it isn't, just tell me like everyone else did.

Targas aren't really convertibles, which is why the game doesn't let the Del Sol and NSX in the Spider & Roadster races.

It kinda sucks that it lets the Spoon & Mugen S2000's race the Spider & Roadster, but it doesn't let the Autobacs MR-S.

Anyway, the Griffith and Cobra are definitely the fastest convertibles, but the Speedster and Elise are are probably the most fun to drive.

I believe the del Sol has the same system in effect as the SLK230 does - a folding solid roof...

Umm.... Have you guys ever seen a Del Sol?

There's a big difference between the folding hardtop of the SLK (and Lexus SC 430) and a targa top. The NSX and Del Sol, along with several Porsches, some Corvettes, and many other cars are targa tops.

There were Japanese Del Sols made with a "Trans Top" that automatically puts the targa top in the trunk, but it's still a targa, not a convertible.

Mind you, just to totally distract ourselves from the point here.

Del Sol LM... Mmmmmm....

Here's my car:

And here's an NSX:

They're targas. Convertibles can remove the whole top and back part of the roof. Targas can only remove the roof, and leave the back part of the top and rear window.

Maybe if you tried real hard you could argue that the Del Sol is a real convertible since the back window rolls down leaving you with just a tiny piece of the back part of the roof.

I guess you guys are right...The del Sol and the NSX can't really be considered "convertibles" because only the roof is off of it. And yes, I have seen a del Sol in real life, as well as an NSX.

I like the Shelby Cobra as my favourite convertible car in GT3...shame they don't let the tops down...:|
