Depends...sometimes you need it, like with the Cizeta, you need to use the aids to correct the oversteer, its horrible on that car.

I can drift best most of the time with no ASM, but a little TCS. With the Peugeot 205 Rally Car though, which you can drift very nicely, it's much easier without TCS. So, it really depends on what you're driving with.

actually there is a drift forum and you should have posted it there....but as there are already a few answers.....it depends on the ride you driving. but for me...NO aids. :)

You can try with aids on but I don't think you will be able to drift well. personally aids off is better for drift and its so much fun too. you can even do 360 spins and 180 turns  I usually use the aids when driving a powerfull or uncontrollable car.

Welcome to GTP. I assume you should turn 'em off (the AIDS that is). Now if only we could go to the options menu and turn off the other AIDS....

I feel like I need to be an auto mechanic to fully understand everything in this game. I just leave the aids alone because I'm sure I'll make my car worse, whatever I do. It took me forever to understand that increasing the gear ratios can increase the top speed, but can aversely affect the acceleration, or vice versa. The other day I wondered why my 500-hp car was maxing out at 109mph :yuck:

Heck, I just add all the stuff that's going to get the most HP. I honestly didn't know a turbo acted differently than just hard-tuning the engine (it's called "turbo lag" or something). I generally add turbos to everything, since I can get more HP for the money than a stage 3 tune.
