Hello there! I really hope I'm not restarting my horrible habit of hyping about a car, buying it, and never using it again. But I recently thought about buying an Acura/Honda NSX and cruising with it in GT5. I've seen more than one version of the NSX, and I want to know, which NSX is best? The Acura from the premium dealer? The Type R in the Honda dealer? Or one of those standards?

List the exact name and what makes it the best. Please make sure to say its performance when stock or tuned when you post.

The FR one. No,really the standard LM road car is the fastest in my opinion. But the premium type-r is the best all around.

Would have to agree with NABeast, my NSX-R LM road car has 669hp with a full tune, but for "normal" NSX's, you have to have the Premium NSX type R, so nice to drive... I would also recommend the Honda HSC as well.

Have a good one

If you can find the '92 Type R, it's actually very good. I like the design more than the NA2 body style, but that is just personal preference.

The Original.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! Knew I would get a quick response!

EDIT: Wow the NSX Type R '02 looks incredible in New Formula Red with a black carbon fiber hood. Goes great with the roof and spoiler.

The Premium NSX Type R '02 (NA2) is the best, no doubt. the NSX LM Prototype Road is obviously faster, but the handling and driving feel of the NA2 Type R simply cannot be matched by any other car out there. I managed to chase down a Viper ACR using my fully-upgraded NA2 Type R around the Nordschleife, managed to overtake the dude just before the long back straight. :sly:

If you want to go for a bit of nostalgia, the Premium NSX '91 (NA1) from Acura is also good too, but it's a bit wide and tail-happy so it needs proper tuning. Still, it's a load of fun. 👍 It also looks good in Formula Red paint with carbon fibre hood and rear wing, as well as gold or yellow wheels. That overall look reminds me of Go Hojo's NSX from Initial D. :D

Please don't murder me when I say this: I have only seen one episode of Initial D. (better than none I guess)

Currently, I don't have a lot of time to watch the show, so I have to watch all of them eventually. And why does the show have two completely different animation styles? First is the typical "anime" 2D look for the characters and everything (which looks fine, don't get me wrong), but then the cars appear in some strange 3D rendered model. It looks out of place compared to the 2D characters and buildings, but I guess I'll have to get used to it.

LOL It's always been like that, ever since 1st Stage. But you're gonna have to forgive the renders from 1st Stage because it was made in 1998. Don't worry, at each new stage the animation of the vehicles gets better and better (without doubt 5th Stage has the best 3D renders). Just imagine what the races would be like if they were 2D as well, they wouldn't look half as good. You won't get to feel the action. :dunce::lol:

First time I've ever known of Go Hojo's NSX was in the arcade game :D, that got me interested to read the manga. :)

There was a movie version?

3rd Stage is not exactly a movie version or a summary of the series. Rather, it just continues on from where 2nd Stage's story left off. The Initial D anime goes like this...

1st Stage - 26 episodes
2nd Stage - 13 episodes (not sure if 13 or 14, but it's not more than 15)
3rd Stage - OVA <--- your so-called "movie version"
4th Stage - 24 episodes (full series)
5th Stage - approx. 26 episodes

back on-topic:

Thanks to this thread, I think I'm gonna dust off one of the '92 NSX Type R NA1s I have in my collection and give it a spin. :D

The part in the story where the 86 had a blown engine is only referenced in the OVA, it actually happened along 2nd Stage's storyline.

Oh yeah forgot to mention, also thanks to this thread, I'm REALLY planning on getting an NSX as my 3rd car in IDAS 7 AAX. Ever since IDAS 4 I've been wishing for the NSX to make it to the game. Hope it's not broken as it was in IDAS 6, I don't want to get flamed for using it. :D:lol:

EDIT: If you want to give some of the race-bred NSXs a go, use the older Takata Dome NSX (the yellow one, '03 or '04, I think) the NSX LM Race Car is a bit tricky to use, a good transmission setup is imperative if you want to properly harness that car's powerband and get its full potential out.

dont know about the series all i know is what i saw in the movie.

Race cars:
1 - NSX LM Race Car (or LM Road Car, they're basically the same car with and without decals)
2 - Any of the NSX GT500/SuperGT cars (the 4 premium ones have slightly better numbers than the standard ones)
3 - Acura NSX '91 race modified

Road cars:
1 - NSX Type R '02 (premium)
2 - NSX-R Concept '01 (standard)
3 - NSX Type R '92 (standard)

My favourite is the '92 Type R, with the NA2 Type S a close second. The NA2 Type-R is a bit too "easy mode" with all that downforce, but phenomenal all the same.

And I think the Initial D movie thelvynau is referencing is the "Chinese" live-action one. Which I quite enjoyed, although I've only watched a scattering of episodes of the anime across the first two series, sorry "stages" :dopey:

What's IDAS?

When in doubt, the latest premium model of any car is often the best.

Don't forget that the Acura only has 5 gears, opposed to the 6 in the '02 NSX Type R ( which I find quite annoying to be honest ) ;-)

Apart from that, as others have mentioned before : the '02 type R is the best all-rounder.
Sure, the NSX-R LM is a hoot when trashing it ( and you can add a turbo :p ) , but I still prefer the Type R

^ this one. :)

yeah, for me I find the shift lag annoying when you try to tune the Premium NSX NA1 to reach an ideal top speed. But it's still fun to use in cruising; around Nordschleife my suspension tune more than makes up for whatever momentum I lose whenever i experience shift lag. ;)

Turbos don't work well with NSXs that can use them, too much turbo lag :yuck:. I hope superchargers can be fitted to all showroom NSXs in GT6. :D

I like the NA2-R, Type S, '92 NA1-R, NSX '90, ARTA NSX '00 and the LM one(reminds me of Keiichi Tsuchiya's LeMans GT2 1995 Car)

I like prototype LM Road/Race Cars, I also like the Loctite NSX (JGTC).
But my favorite is the Acura NSX (And its RM version)

The RM Version looks really sick! Even the interior looks awesome.
