A bit off-topic, but is why is this in the rumble strip?

Not sure if it may work, but report the original post and just say that it should belong in the "console and gaming" forum.Because I didn't think to open it in the console and gaming forum.
The mods can move this thread and the other one if that would be for the best.
Completely lost on why Gran Turismo is on there 3 times (which seems abit skewed) when GT5 isn't even relevant anymore and "Gran Turismo" is a whole series.
GT5 was indeed one of the most disappointing racing games I played of the GT series. The standards absolutely killed that game for me.
On the other hand I truly enjoyed GT6. So maybe you should expand the poll to separate GT5 and GT6.
I did not like Project Cars at all so I voted for that. Plus it was a buggy, unfinished game at launch.
I could add those two options, but the first "Gran Turismo" option would remain as I can't edit the existing options anymore (that's actually a pretty smart feature). So you'll have a GT5 and GT6 option in addition to the first one, unless that's okay?
Yes I think that would be fine if you added GT5 and GT6. Then people could vote between those. If the original GT stays, I think that will be fine. ..."
It played like a more-rigid burnout though, if its classified as a Burnout game its the worst one.lol @ Need for Speed fans raging over Most Wanted 2012. That was one of the best racing games of all time hands down.
I mean, Burnout with real cars and real lighting? What's not to like?
Normally I just brush things like this off, because it's all subjective but whaaaaaaat?I voted for other, Gran Turismo 4 was the worst GT for me, because it had the most unrealistic and extremely boring car handling. It's the reason I found the joy of PC sims, so at least something good came from it.
I think my post says it all, is there something you want me to elaborate on? If a game claims to be a sim and the handling is unrealistic, then I will most likely not like that game at all, car handling is the no.1 most important thing for me in a sim. I was absolutely gutted the first time I drove a car in GT4.Normally I just brush things like this off, because it's all subjective but whaaaaaaat?
I don't think it claims to be a sim at all, no the marketing line doesn't count as a claim.I think my post says it all, is there something you want me to elaborate on? Its all down to new things and improvements.Surprised GT6 is beating GT5 on the polls here. Sure, GT6 was more of an evolutionary release and took its sweet time to deliver some promised features, but GT5 was the one that was hyped to infinity for eons only to finally be released as a disappointingly flawed mess that failed to meet pretty much any and all expectations.

If you take GT4 for what it really is, a simcade (or whatever the term is nowadays) it's a really enjoyable game, but it's not (and has never claimed to be) a simulator.
...That's a first.
It's a marketing slogan, not a claim.Sorry, but I can't take you seriously if you're going to say that GT never claimed to be a sim.
"The real driving simulator" is written on the cover of every GT game, so not only claiming to be a sim, but the real one would imply it's something special compared to other sims
As I said, it's a marketing tag. It applied in the 90s and maybe to GT3 but it just became a meaningless marketing tag to sound catchy and link the series together. Marketing 101, really.Sorry, but I can't take you seriously if you're going to say that GT never claimed to be a sim.

Not sarcasm. I haven't heard this kind of take on GT4 before, ever.Is that sarcasm? Just asking because this is not the first time I've had to explain my opinion on GT4 to people on this forum.
Ok no problem just making sure I wasn't missing a joke or something. There are a few others who share my opinion on here and we've had this argument at least twice before. Not sarcasm. I haven't heard this kind of take on GT4 before, ever.
A very vague quote, from a time when he had to make do with the PS2 to make the actual driving simulation isn't proving anything.Ok, I don't agree with you on that, but here's a little bit of an interview with kaz before GT4 released.
What do you think will be judged the single greatest achievement of Gran Turismo 4?
Kazunori: It's a difficult question because I always aim for a over 100 percent in all aspects of any game I create. However if I had to pick one I would have to say the actual driving simulation is its greatest achievement.
But it's saying they've improved it... even though they're creating an actual sim racer (yes, they do call it a Sim) so they should be aiming to match reality anyway. As for Project cars, it's fine to say "beyond reality" as that is the same as claiming it's not the same as reality.

One rule for one Dev, another for another seems fitting here...
Again, it is a vague statement. Yeah sure he goes for 100% in all aspects of every game, but (and this is where the PS2 bit comes in) he was limited by the PS2 hardware whether he said so or not. He, and his studio, would never be able to simulate real life like a modern sim because the PS2 is incomparable against the later consoles, not to mention PCs (the main platform of sim racers) so you'd have to compare it to contemporary games on the same system rather than any PC based sim to get a fair result. Something you don't seem to want to do.It sounds like you are making up excuses just to defend GT4. He says nothing about making do with PS2 (it was one of the most powerful gaming machines at the time) and there is nothing vague about saying "the actual driving simulation will be the greatest achievement", right after saying he "always aims for over 100% in all aspects of every game".
I'm not interested in discussing project cars, I've never even played it.
