I don't want to see a particular series, but what I want though is to see machines from a particular series/championship.

In this case its nice to know that we're getting fully liscensed NASCAR machines(an I hope the same goes for Camping World trucks) rather than manufacurer tuned cars that resemble something close to a NASCAR stockcar. The game goes for Indy, SuperGT, and hopefully F1.

Speaking of F1, the F1 championship will never make it into the GT5 as codemasters have to the rights. Aside from that the individual machines might be a possiblity since codemasters rights seem limited only to the championship.

From what I've read/heard the FIA holds the IP rights to the cars as well as the championship. So the most recent F1 cars we can hope for in GT5 are the 2008 versions.

IMHO, ts better than just 1 F1 car, like they did with GT4 and 5:Prologue. I love indy racing, they require a lot of focus, and drain a lot of energy quickly. I remember them in GT4, and those races alone took me months to beat. The championship itself was crazy for me- each race took me about 2 days to complete, and there are 10 championship races, plus the others, which I think was 15 of them, so do the math.... 25x2= 50 days total spent in GT4 Indy races. Closer to 2 months since I didn't race every day.

I truly hope the races are like that again in GT5! :scared:

Here is a 1969 race, held at the Targa Florio in Italy & near Sicilly. The whole length of this precarious road course, that was designed funnily enough by Porsche is 44 miles long.Although from what i've been reading, that is a section of it, it's actually more than 200 miles of mountain road.Should work well with GT5 then :)

S&S.

The first Targa Florio race is exactly 277 miles long or 446 kilometers. This race first started in 1906.

Firstly, the FIA don't control the rights over F1, FOM does.
Secondly, no one has ever given proof or evidence that FOM has ultimate rights over the cars and drivers. Only that they have rights to the name "Formula 1" and a few (not all) of the "Grand Prix of.."

So as far as I'm concerned, the cars can be licensed from the teams/constructors seperately and F1 can be in the game but under a different name.
There's certainly nothing to stop PD using pre-2008 F1 cars. I have no problem with getting a full grid for at least one year each decade, or at the very least a selection of race winning cars and bizarre ones.

Wikipedia
FOM maintains the commercial rights to the team names and all media content regarding Formula One.

What other proof do you need?

Edit:
I think SUV's should stay in forza where they belong, i would really only like to see WTCC

Have you played GT4?

I prefer a varied range of cars, but that is just me however some one make series racing are beyond awesome. No way properly off roading in 4x4s/SUVs is awesome.

Are we talking online or offline with these series, I'm confused.

ALMS
Rolex Series
Continental Tire Series (formally Koni Challenge)
BTCC
WTCC
DTM
Speed World Challenge from a few years back before it started to suck
Group B rally

Now, I understand there are already two threads that address this issue that are currently active. But, these threads only include, rather than concentrate, opinion. So, with a poll, we might be able to see exactly where the passion lies in terms of inclusion.

So, with that in mind, which series (not already featured to the best of my knowledge) would you most like to see in Gran Turismo 5? These championships are ones that haven't been featured heavily before or are not likely to already be included.

There's a good chance that any winners here won't be featured in Gran Turismo 5 (at least not initially), but this might be useful for future outings in the franchise.

The World Sportscar Championship or more specifically the Mille Miglia & Targa Florio mountain road race <----- (277 miles long). The difference with these races, is they are endurance oriented & every mastered bend, straight, hairpin & S bend etc is an adrenalin fueled event. Also gives you a chance to get acquainted with the cars.

Offline presumably Spaghetti69.

Ah the old AI chestnut raises it's ugly head. A series of races against AI who rarely overtake or who finish in the same order as they start on the grid would be useless. Anyway sorry for derailing the thread topic and I really hope the AI will offer the competition needed and PD is addressing the issue.

FIA International GT Championship (GT1, GT2, GT3 &/Or GT4)

In the Ring with unlimited number of cars in all classes combined in one race.

Nice; I'm liking the responses. So, let's keep it going! If you haven't voted yet, what do you want to see?

If you pick other, by the way, and specify, I'll look to include a list of 'others' in an edit of my first post. This will happen a bit later on and is for any particularly popular picks.

Cheers.

F1, back to the 'ring. With Niki Lauda's hotlap as the AI driver. 👍

Stock Car Brasil (Copa Nextel). I'll love to drive those Astras and 207 from this series, and i'll fall in love if the Street Circuit of Salvador is in GT5 (just dreaming, never will happen).

Another series, Rallycross sponsored by whoever from different eras.I know Esso sponsored these races in the 80's.FIA European Rallycross Championship.
