Which racing view is fastest?

Bumber cam for me... would love the cockpit, but the 2 wheels in my sight turn in different rates and it confuses my mind. We should get a chance to adjust the visual turning of the virtual wheel (like gtr).
 
In GT4 I always used the roof cam as it allowed me to see part of the car and also the apices of corners etc, but I was really looking forward to a nice cockpit view, refined a-la-Gran Turismo so I use that in GT5P. Initially I was not as fast in cockpit view because of reduced visibility but now I find it more comfortable and natural than any other view. I also enjoy it the most, but as someone mentioned, some cars with the steering wheel on the 'other' side sometimes makes it difficult for me :)

When i'm racing online i start with the chase view and change to the in-car view after i get around the first corner at Suzuka because i need to see everything that is going on around my car. This is so i can at least try to avoid being punted.

Im SHOCKED :),it looks so weird?Driver view,only acceptable on PRO mode!
 
It was always bumpercam for me, but now i've moved down into a chair in the cockpit.

This did mean that placed my screen a lot closer to me since the cockpit view does tend to make your view of the road about half the size it was before ;(

Though that does seem to suggest to have a negative effect on the drivability of the view (seeing half the road you saw before), in fairness i have to say thatthe cockpitview gives me much more info on how the car is handling.

That is not a recipe for fast driving (as timppaq above is much quicker then i am but he uses bumperview) but to me it seems more immersive (though the 'feeling of velocity' is 'faster' with bumperview i think.

What looks weird to me is two wheels+hands turning out of sync. How can you drive on the edge like that? Please tell me.. ;) 👍 ..but respect for doing that.
 
btw, this should be made as public poll methinks :) ..well, I guess it's too late.
 
Bumper cam for me too... I used cockpit for a while, but when I tired bumper cam I was immediately faster.
 
Probably because I drove bumper cam for years playing GT4, I am consistently faster in that view, often by a couple of seconds per lap, which is nothing to sneeze at when you're in a competitive race online.

But, I drive nearly 100% of the time cockpit view because it adds so much realism to the experience.
 
if you can't drive fast with **** pit view, you need to go play another game... :)
 
Cockpit view ONLY

I don't think I've driven further then 50 feet in this game outside the cockpit

Bumper view feels like I'm tied to the front of the car. I realize it's the most popular view but I've alwalys found it strange, feels like your floating in the air just above the track. Where is the car?

I used 3rd person chase in GT 1-3, Roof cam in GT4, Cockpit only now and forever.
 
I use bumpercam exclusively. I find it easiest to sense weight transfer in that view, and it also very cleanly presents all the needed input (RPM/speed/rear view). It's also a centered view, which makes adjusting to left or right hand drive cars a non-issue. Some claim it's less realistic, but honestly, it shows what I focus on when driving anyway, so this isn't an issue for me.
