Which real life tracks do you want to see in GT5?

I would love to see the Barber Motorsports Park in GT5. Porsches driving school is currently there, and there are some other manufactuer's thinking of moving things there. This track has been regarded as not only one of the finest tracks in America, but perhaps the world.
What he said.

And not to neglect the fantasy aspects, include all the tracks from the previous Gran Turismos, and come up with a few more worthy contenders as well.

Admittedly I didn't read through 19 pages of posts so my apologies if this has been said already.

I'm an American and by NO means a NASCAR fan. However, if Gran Turismo is going to tout itself as a driving simulator covering all aspects of racing then yes, there needs to be at least 1 or 2 famous American oval tracks in the game as well as a few NASCAR vehicles. Indianapolis is home to one of the most famous races in the world; someone explain to me how that track has not yet made it into the GT arsenal?

Indianapolis and Daytona would make excellent track additions because, while being ovals, they also have good, technical road courses. Indy is also home to the F1 USGP, and Daytona is home to the Rolex 24hr endurance that sees teams from around the world. Those are two major tracks that IMO are far more famous than Infineon.

Road Atlanta is another outstanding American track; a very demanding road course that's been a famous American track for years.

And while my info on Australia is limited, I would very much like to see more cars & tracks from there as well.

Obviously Gran Turismo is biased towards Japan but let's be realistic... if Polyphony Digital wants to hold the title of driving simulator as well as a historical representation of autos and racing on a worldwide scale then we need to see the tracks I've mentioned.

Which it doesn't. PD never claimed GT to cover all aspects of racing, their goal is simply to include as many cars as possible, covering as much of the automobile history as possible. In that respect, NASCAR vehicles may have a place in GT, but ovals don't necissarily. GT is all about the driving, it's games like Toca Race Driver (or whatever it's called, with all its different names) that focus on including as many racing disciplines as possible, not GT.

I'll do a little searching online later on today, but I do remember reading an interview with Kazunori Yamauchi in which he taked about Gran Turismo being more than just a racing game, but an interactive world history of the automobile. So yeah, if he's going to make that claim he really needs to get out of Japan a little more :D

İSTANBUL PARK!!!:sly:

Obviously PD can´t include too many tracks in the game, since you would never actually have the time to learn them all. And one race on each track would be a bit boring, no?
But it would be nice to have at least the F1 venues and perhaps the Speed GT venues aswell. And throw in the DTM and Aussie V8 ones too... and all the Super GT tracks and... and...
Well, there are a huge number of wonderful tracks in the world, and let´s say I can only pick out three new additions from that and add to the GT series. Spa - Francorchamps, Silverstone and Mt. Panorama (Bathurst) would be my picks!

Here's a couple of dead tracks i'd like to see brought back:

brooklands1-lg.jpg

the old Brooklands track at Weybridge, in England: died in 1939. the first track that could've competed with Daytona or Talladega. Too bad it never did. Interesting RIGHT HAND turn on the frontstretch!

Don't believe me? look at that banking!

The famed Riverside International. Died in late '80s. Replaced with a stupid shopping mall. Here, here is the kind of track had that La Sarthe charm in America. Here, here, is a track that deserves to live again, in Digital form.

The final configuration at Riverside.

Road America
Road Atlanta
Las Vegas Motor Speedway Oval & Combined Infield Road Course
Pocono International Raceway Oval (actually a triangle) & combined infield road course
Jerez (F1 before Martin Donnelly's accident)

I like to see more ovals with overlooked infield road courses that make it into the game.

oh boy, i hope i don't get my head bit off for suggesting this one...

Darlington Raceway...while it looks like Super Speedway, and Twinring Motegi's oval...well, it's alot smaller and tougher.

the banking's steeper, the racing line's narrower, and the surface is infamously bumpy and abraisive. PD could simulate that by upping tire wear on this track.

no, there isn't an Infield road course, but I think the surface and line more than makes up for it. I suppose that damage modeling would be more obvious here than anywhere else.

Well being that I have been driven (passenger) on Lime Rock and my dads car club goes there every year, i'd definitely like to see that. From real life, at least 1/2 of the Formula 1 circuits, Suzuka is great & Monte Carlo (kinda there) should be the actual race track.

The biggest thing I think they should add, are various stages from the world rally championship.

I like the way you think. I've long wished for a Gran Turismo Classic that would be nothing but classic passenger and race cars. Nothing after 1975. The race tracks would be all the old tracks that don't exist anymore, or the original configurations that aren't in use. Riverside and Brooklands were two of my top choices. I'd also like to see tracks like Avus in Berlin, the 8 mile version of Spa-Francorchamps, the classic early-50s version of Le Mans, Laguna Seca before the infield section was added, and Watkins Glen when it was run on city streets instead of a dedicated race track.

Too bad we won't get to see anything like the Carrera Panamerica or Targa Florio. Those would be so much fun.

so much fun, but SO LONG as well! Yeeikes!

Think of the data required to build those long courses! you'd almost have to have a different disc!

by the way, thanks for supporiting me on the "Dead Tracks" idea!

There are so many good tracks that have been closed, or existing tracks that have been sanitized, it would great to be able to race them again, even if it's only in digital form.

I'd like to see:

Nurburgring F1
Nurburgring F1 with connection to original track
Any other versions of nurburgring!
Silverstone (all versions)
Donnington (international and GP)
Brands hatch (all versions)

Plus any other famous tracks such as:

SPA
Monza
And any others that have been mentioned already!

But has anyone here (especially from UK) ever though about having Rockingham motor speedway? Along with the versions including the inner part of the oval? (if rockingham was mentioned already, i thought i'd mention it again!) :sly:

And what about that 'salt lake' track where they get the land speed records?

Hope these get included!

You mean dried out lakes? We have a bunch of those in Death Valley (Southern California) and That would be fun to drive at.

A really unknown track, Calabogie :)

Length: 5.05 km (3.05 miles)
Number of Turns: 23
West Track: 2.2km (1.38 miles)
East Track: 2.81km (1.74 miles)
Track Width: 40 feet
Elevation Change: 65 feet
Camber in turns: 0% to 6%
Straightaway: 2000 ft.

Nice!👍

Looks like a decent track - and it looks like it can be used with multiple versions like the Twin Ring Motegi track from GT4.

I just hope that all these mentioned tracks make it to GT5!:scared:

Being from Quebec, I'd like to see the Mont-Tremblant Circuit, located in Quebec. It has a 40-year history and would be perfect for GT5 races. Here is the track data and a link to a pic:

Lenght: 4,26 km or 2.65 milles
Number of turns: 15
North loop / small circuit: 2.46 km or 1.53 milles
South loop: 1.91 km or 1.19 milles
Average width: 11 m or 36 feet
Year of construction:1964

I would like to see some real WRC stages. If they can fit a 13 mile track on PS2, they can fit any WRC stage on PS3.

it`s unreal, but i`d like to see polish track, Tor Poznan (Circuit Poznan). there are more holes than in swiss cheese, like 90% roads in Poland ;/
here is the photo:

I'd like to see more American Road Courses. I'd like to see Sebring, Road Atlanta, Road America, Mid-Ohio, Lime Rock, Watkins Glen and maybe even Daytona with option to run oval or road course.
