OK, retro style cars are becoming popular among car enthusiasts around the globe. If you were a car designer, what would you design? Here is mine as an example for you guys:

I like the idea of that Capri RS3700.

I'm thinking a coupe version of the on-again/off-again Bluesport roadster, with styling heavily influenced by the original Karmann Ghia.

Your Cortina idea is closer to a remake of the 1960s Falcon :p

A remade Cortina would be better off with 1.4-2.0L 4cyls with 100-300hp depending on spec and aspiration.

No, the Cortina was a completely different car to the Falcon. Look at the difference between the two at the time.

The closest is the TE Cortina to the XD, but the XD was about 30% bigger than the TE was.

No, a Cortina was better as a six cylinder, period.

:odd: The Cortina never went away. Not in Europe anyway. It morphed first into the Sierra and then into the Mondeo.

also, I've been re-imagining something real for years. reviving the old Studebaker nameplate so there's such a thing as a purely american made car again! though I did think of a mini for Europe (Kyte). imagine a redone Gran Turismo Hawk (yes, it was under that name legit), or an Avanti III R3 (it'd go so fast a Veryon would be embarrassed :P )

The Taunus and the Cortina became the same thing eventually. They're both the daddy to the Sierra.
