Im in the market to purchase a new steering wheel and I was wondering which one you guys think is the best one to get? Any and all input will be extremely helpful and greatly appreciated

G27's price should be dropping quite a lot these days, because of the new fanatec wheel.

it's not the absolute best, but it does the work for what can be considered very cheap for what you get.
If you want the absolute best, be prepared to spend thousands of dollars (literally), or about $500 for the whole CSR package (not elite, no rig and no extra accesories).

A budget alternative is the DFGT. I got mine extremly cheap, and it does the job.

I was thinking on the fanatec, because it works on PS3 and on Xbox360. but it cost around $200 just for the steering wheel and $200 extra for peddles. Little to much to pay.

I wonder if the money microsoft makes by only allowing XID devices is really worth the annoyance it causes owners of non xid stuff purchased for ps3 or pc.

Im never going to buy an xbox because i refuse to buy a 2nd wheel, rarrrrrrr.

Yeah good point, they lost quite a lot of customers excluding Logitech from their console. We can find a used x360 for 100 / 150 €, a very affordable price, problem is for the new CSR wheel+pedals we are talking about 400€. There is no a decent DFGT alternative on the same price range. And let's say with 500€ we can buy a Trustmaster T500 RS which is a damn good piece of a wheel, and yes, better than CSR. (Don't trust Inside SimRacing they are biased when they talk about Fanatech).

Since its in the GT5 forum, i will say the Thrustmaster, because of the force feedback.
