I know what you're saying. I think it goes to the fact that the 57's were a little underpowered compared to the later years....

I'll take the ZR1, there a nice car, I loved the generation of that vette too. But a family friend used to have one, it was dark green. I remember way back when he took me for a ride in it and hot damn did it screem. He sold it though and bought a Viper in 1998...damn rich people. But ya that was just a great car.

I also like the 67 427, nice car that is too. It's just so hard to pick one Vette to be my favorite car.

The only difference between the Z06 and a Supercar is the price. The Z06 is THE best car to come from the USA in a long time. It is one of the very fastest vehicles in the world. In handling and pure accelerationa and speed.

How you could miss it I'll never know, but this is the best vette ever:

Could it be becaue that particular vette was never available to the general public??? It was the concept car the stingray was based on....

that having been said, it is a cool car...

Just a few words on the ZR-1. I am not bashing. I am saying what I believe to be facts.

The ZR-1's were really really limited in numbers and only came in the admiral blue with white stripe as depicted in Gran Turismo 3 correct? I worked at a big Chevy dealership service department for a long time and only ever saw one of those bad boys. Again this is what I believe to be fact and I could be wrong.

The motor. Power abound. The only OHC version 350 ever used if I remember correctly. Developed by Lotus wasnt it? If someone could let me know if I have my facts straight I could rest easier.

EDIT: Oh wait........ I only ever saw one ZR-1....... but it was white..... I was mixing it up with the Grand Sport...... But the ZR-1 did sport a DOHC Lotus 350 right?

I think it's the '68 or '69 vette that's cool but vettes arn't that great to me... especially when they come with automatics...

I like Vettes than any American car on the streets in the modern age. Since my type of Corvette is an US$10,000 (est) aftermarket add-on, a Z06 with a regular Vette targa/hatchback body courtesy of Carravaggio. Because I like practical cars thats why I like the bodystyle. BTW I voted for the ZO6 (just like every body else.

Yeeeaaa!

1988 Callaway Slegdehammer. Fastest street legal car in history, and by far my favourite vette, and one of my favourite cars of all time. Just simply a great piece of machinery.

The ZR1 was powered by a dual overhead cam, 350CI, all aluminum V-8 that was developed in part by Lotus. It was the most powerful vette since the L88 (more power then the Z06) and it was available in all the colors a normal vette was available in.

The 96 grand sport was the blue/white striped, limited production, corvette. It was a looks package, paint, badge, interior, and rims was the only noticeable difference from the normal vettes.....

Personally I think the ZR1 was far supeirior to the Z06. But the cost of a ZR1 was its downfall.

The SledgeHammer was a sweet ride no doubt. I would have included it but I was looking for the best Vette that Chevy ever made.

Maybe I should make a thread to see who is the best Vette Modifier/Tuner..... that is if one does not already exist....

Sorry Slimer. but the grand sport and the collectors edition Vettes of '96 had a 330 hp LT4 engine. The standard vette had an LT1 300hp version. and there were only 1000 Grand sport's. 810 coupes 190 convertibles. :D I like vette's too much.:banghead:

Oops, heh. Oh well, my vote still would have gone to a '90 Z06, since it's the fastest car I've ever rode in (my friend's dad owns one).

I know, but campare that to the ZR1's 400+ rating and you see why I call it a badge special.... they should have done so much more with the GS....
