I put Forza 3 in and go to Fujimi Kaido to warm myself up, loading, loading, loading.. Think to myself that the sticks on the PS3 are alot nicer.. Frozen. After 3 tries trying to get the stupid track to load and having to reboot it, I unplug my 360 and now it's back in the closet, where it will remain.
Did you use the triplle screen setup trick to adjust your field of view? If you did, that's what's causing the freezing while loading a track.
As for me, I still have the very same Xbox360 120GB Elite I bought in 2007 and never had an issue with it, and I don' t really treat it very well when it comes to cleaning out dust 'n stuff. I can count the times it froze during games and general issues on one hand, even after four years of constant use.
I never had any luck with Sony's consoles, though. I went through five fat PS2s, two PS2 slims and am on my third PS3. Luckily, all of them were covered by warranty, but still. Now, after the horrible bad luck I had with the PS2, I wasn't even planning on getting a PS3. I did for GT5, quite some time ahead of its release (thanks to the delays, that is). It has frozen dozens of times while playing Fallout: Las Vegas alone... And that's on one of the newer 250GB Slims, which is better mantained than my Xbox.
Also, when it comes to games, I'm indifferent, really. Most stuff I care about is multi plattform, anyways and the only big exclusives, for me, were Gran Turismo and Forza. Since GT5, I've lost most of my interest in that franchise, though.
Overall, I'd have to go with the next Xbox. Not that I'll be getting it as soon as it releases, I'll be waiting for a model like the Elite to come out just so I end up with a console that has most of the íssues fixed that the early models are usually stricken with. I'm not ruling the purchase of a PS4 out, though. It'll be a good while after the launch of the corresponding GT title, though, and after reading a fair bit of reviews and such. Going by GT's record (GT3 and GT5), the prices will have come down a lot by that time, too.
