Some of you(who lack good taste in music

) might call me crazy but I find the music(well the menu music anyway, I dont listen to music when driving) completely enjoyable! I heard and read from some reviewers complaining about the 'bad' jazz music? Seriously? How can one classify it as bad jazz music? I find the jazz in GT5 is done very tastefully...heck even some of the funkier stuff they have is good. One song that that the name escapes me, almost sounds like something JDilla would make.
So who else actually takes the time to just not do anything and let a track finish? heh
I love the music, I love the game, I love cars!!
I am enjoying this at every level, down to each details of the game!
GT5 is always my cheer up no matter how bad the day has been.
GT5 is my escape and the music selection there stands out and stand in opposition to what we currently hear on the radio or tv.
GT5 is my revolution against the modern conformity this pop culture is set us into.
I like the Classy-ness of GT5, i like the philosophy it is divulging, especially the contradiction with what we see in Blur/NFS/BurnOut and other Cheesy Action movies.
GT5 is like the shaken by not stirred Martini as opposed to drinking Vokda straight from the bottle.
I love all the music in GT5, most of them, except for the "Used Car Lot" music which annoys me
Race BGM off, I like to hear the tyres and the engine
I like all the GT5 music, but when i race, the race music is set at 40 (barely audible) and crank up the Race FX sound: engine and tire sounds are what i need to make a good time and beat the race.
It's only during replay and photo mode, and menu scrolling or slideshow that i enjoy the playlist from GT5.
I agree. It's like a lot of people want the "NFS: Underground" soundtrack to play.
I for one, love the music. The thing I'm loving about the GT series more so than any other racing series (aside from gameplay) is the overall "classy" feel it has. Other racing games are so much about the action, GT has that clean, classy feel to it. A true racing situation. Not a "Fast and Furious" knockoff.
The jazzy menus make me feel at home taking my light grey BMW or Jaguar to the track. Other games feel more like I should be using neon strips, vinyls and Nitrous.
*EDIT* Plus, the Jazz implies a much cleaner racing experience. Rap makes me want to run people off the track at 200mph.
👍 Yes very much so, i agree with what you say. I get the medal of understanding. Most people are too blind.
This is exactly why GT has always featured Jazz and Classical music.
Well I am a composer and a working jazz guitarist getting my master's in Classical/Jazz/Electronic music composition, and the first thing that struck me was the opening piano piece. Based on what I like to listen to and PLAY, this is the best video game music I've ever heard in a game.
👍
Although i wish there would be a way to skip that piano section to MCB.
I dont want to having to
The jazz is brilliant.
There's people who don't like it (usually much younger people) and one would assume a bit of gansta rap or something about cutting yourself like Linkin Park would be more to their tastes.
The Pop/Rap/Rock mainstream culture is already everywhere, we dont need to see it in GT5 either, GT5 is my vacation away from all the popularity and common music we keep on hearing on the radio.
You guys can be my friends just for saying the following
Jazz music is a great idea. It slows down the pace which is odd for a racing game, but Gran Turismo has never been a heart-in-mouth arcade racer, and the relaxed pace works much better for when you're just browsing menus and checking out the cars.
Plus, it makes the load times seem shorter. They take ages but the slow jazz music is that much more relaxing, that it just doesn't matter.
Jazz...it fits perfectly here.
I also like the music
The Jazz music fits in perfectly, imo. This is one of the bright spots in GT5.
The submenu music however... whoever decided to set the Used Car Dealership and GT Auto to these horrible selections with no option to change, and no option to mute...
It is kind of like a group of distinguished artists got together to play an inspiring and tasteful concert, interspersed with Charles Manson on an accordion. I daresay the Used Car Dealer music is so inhumanly annoying, it borders on paranormal.
So, yeah. I use the TV mute button a lot.
I actually used the Jazz tunes the other day as some background music when I sister-in-law came over with her husband. Just had the TV off so they couldn't see what it was. lol. The clarity of it is also great. There's alot of stuff you buy on CD's that don't sound as good. They really did a great job in the studio getting it right.
I actually love GT5 soundtrack, menu music, photo travel music, everything, i absolutely love it

Love it! Love it! Love it!
If I'm feeling a little down on my luck, a rousing rendition of
'Danny Boy' always gets me back on my feet again! 👍
I love the music, especially since it is very "wife friendly".
