Who else enjoys GT5's music?

Did anybody catch that there's like 20 more menu songs that aren't turned on in the music section? I added them to the menu playlist, not sure if they've actually been playing or not though.

GT5's music is ok, anyway. I'm not sure I'd listen to it on its own, especially if it weren't associated with GT, but it's pretty good. I still think the best racing game music of all time was in the Tokyo Extreme Racer/Shutoko Battle/Kaido Battle series.

I love the menu music. Gt always had great menu music. It fits the game and menu theme perfectly. People complaining that its not their "type" of music need to realize you dont play a racing game to hear your favorite song. The jazz music fits well with the menu layout. It all works together.

Plus that funk song in the tuning shop is dope!

I don't get why people keep complaining about the menu music in this game either. We had jazz playing in the menus ever since GT2.

Anyway, I love the music. It's a huge plus for me. Fits the game very well. 👍

Love most of the music! =D London City - Electricity, My Chemical Romance - Planetary (Go), some of the jazz, and some of the classic.

Beginning to miss my own and usual music, though. But that's just a matter of ripping it into my PS3.

My problem with the game music is, firstly, 1000 cars, dozens of tracks, but no CHOICE in the menu music (or variety). The thing is, most players that are into jazz aren't really into D'nB or hardcore, or really much of the in game music. And vice versa. Now, of course, you can turn off the in game music, or substitute whatever you like. But the menu music is what it is. Add to that, there's only ONE tune for getting a car, or reaching a level or getting an achievement. Basically, some screens that you go to a LOT, you have to listen to the same tune over and over and over and....

How hard would it have been to set a choice of ALL menu music be one of say three types. Modern, Classic Rock, and Jazz...? That way, the D&B crowd don't have to endure the, I must say, quite often pretty generic jazz music, and those that like classic rock don't have to endure EITHER of the genres provided.

I guess I can live with the generic jazz, but some of the REALLY repetitive pre-race music, or post achievement music should have had FAR more alternatives. Hasn't everyone who won a bunch of cars in an event or two got bored as all hell with the music that plays as you receive your cars into your garage? I don't care what type it is, but it is just the one tune. Or the Event trophy fanfare... Same deal.

BORING...

The Jazz music fits in perfectly, imo. This is one of the bright spots in GT5.

The submenu music however... whoever decided to set the Used Car Dealership and GT Auto to these horrible selections with no option to change, and no option to mute...
It is kind of like a group of distinguished artists got together to play an inspiring and tasteful concert, interspersed with Charles Manson on an accordion. I daresay the Used Car Dealer music is so inhumanly annoying, it borders on paranormal.

So, yeah. I use the TV mute button a lot.

I love the menu music, the new car dealership tune is the best :) Can't stand the racing BGM, it's awful IMO.

I actually used the Jazz tunes the other day as some background music when I sister-in-law came over with her husband. Just had the TV off so they couldn't see what it was. lol. The clarity of it is also great. There's alot of stuff you buy on CD's that don't sound as good. They really did a great job in the studio getting it right.

the menu music is amazing.
i usually listen to my own music while driving. nothing like driving to some metallica or mastodon

The jazz is brilliant.

There's people who don't like it (usually much younger people) and one would assume a bit of gansta rap or something about cutting yourself like Linkin Park would be more to their tastes.

I agree. It's like a lot of people want the "NFS: Underground" soundtrack to play.

I for one, love the music. The thing I'm loving about the GT series more so than any other racing series (aside from gameplay) is the overall "classy" feel it has. Other racing games are so much about the action, GT has that clean, classy feel to it. A true racing situation. Not a "Fast and Furious" knockoff.

The jazzy menus make me feel at home taking my light grey BMW or Jaguar to the track. Other games feel more like I should be using neon strips, vinyls and Nitrous.

*EDIT* Plus, the Jazz implies a much cleaner racing experience. Rap makes me want to run people off the track at 200mph.

I turned off all the jazz/bossanova stuff. I don't race to music.

I have all the classical turned on for Menu's and a few of the techno/rock songs

Well I am a composer and a working jazz guitarist getting my master's in Classical/Jazz/Electronic music composition, and the first thing that struck me was the opening piano piece. Based on what I like to listen to and PLAY, this is the best video game music I've ever heard in a game.

I to like a lot of the Classical Guitar, Classical in general and the Jazz cuts. I do not drive with music playing but have found myself just sitting back when a race is loading or whatever and enjoying some of these tracks through my Klipsch RF7 set-up , Marantz SR8002. Truly enjoyable and I have even thought of a search to locate the names of some of what I have heard. Of-course, I love good Classsical music to start with so it is easier for me to like the GT5 stuff. Some of the Classicle Guitar stuff reminds me of John Williams, or even some Sergovia.

I hated the intro music. Hated it. The menu music is ok but I have it turned down very low. But I simply can not stand the piano pounding intro music.

Love it! Love it! Love it! :D

If I'm feeling a little down on my luck, a rousing rendition of 'Danny Boy' always gets me back on my feet again! 👍

The menu music makes me feel like I'm in an exclusive racing lounge in Europe or Japan, a classy place where you take off your hat and speak politely, and take the time to listen to the band. Like many of you, I let it play sometimes between races because it's so good, and often after a long session, I'll let the game idle for half an hour or more and let the music fill the living room like a scented candle.

Race music, off. I killed half the racing/replay tracks, and would like to replace just about every one of them if I could. This has to be the worst GT5 playlist ever. Prologue's was better. I'd like to be able to add original music of mine, but I don't have enough. Maybe if I ripped the tunes from the best of Gran Turismo's games, that would be the ticket. Hmm...

I have the music level on 1, only in menus, for playing, my better music are the engine sound of the car, I must ear the engine sound to envolve me into the race.

2 things that really make some confusion to me, they are, music in race, and drive the car with top view, driving to me is on cockpit or bumper camera, this is supposed to be a simulator right?:)

The music is pretty good with a few greats (I'm an MCR fan so that song rocks), the song from the preview video (they use for GT Academy as well) is awesome.

Some of you(who lack good taste in music :P) might call me crazy but I find the music(well the menu music anyway, I dont listen to music when driving) completely enjoyable! I heard and read from some reviewers complaining about the 'bad' jazz music? Seriously? How can one classify it as bad jazz music? I find the jazz in GT5 is done very tastefully...heck even some of the funkier stuff they have is good. One song that that the name escapes me, almost sounds like something JDilla would make.

So who else actually takes the time to just not do anything and let a track finish? heh

I love the music, I love the game, I love cars!!
I am enjoying this at every level, down to each details of the game!
GT5 is always my cheer up no matter how bad the day has been.
GT5 is my escape and the music selection there stands out and stand in opposition to what we currently hear on the radio or tv.

GT5 is my revolution against the modern conformity this pop culture is set us into.

I like the Classy-ness of GT5, i like the philosophy it is divulging, especially the contradiction with what we see in Blur/NFS/BurnOut and other Cheesy Action movies.

GT5 is like the shaken by not stirred Martini as opposed to drinking Vokda straight from the bottle.

I love all the music in GT5, most of them, except for the "Used Car Lot" music which annoys me

Race BGM off, I like to hear the tyres and the engine :)

I like all the GT5 music, but when i race, the race music is set at 40 (barely audible) and crank up the Race FX sound: engine and tire sounds are what i need to make a good time and beat the race.

It's only during replay and photo mode, and menu scrolling or slideshow that i enjoy the playlist from GT5.

👍 Yes very much so, i agree with what you say. I get the medal of understanding. Most people are too blind.
This is exactly why GT has always featured Jazz and Classical music.

Although i wish there would be a way to skip that piano section to MCB.
I dont want to having to

The Pop/Rap/Rock mainstream culture is already everywhere, we dont need to see it in GT5 either, GT5 is my vacation away from all the popularity and common music we keep on hearing on the radio.

You guys can be my friends just for saying the following :D

Jazz music is a great idea. It slows down the pace which is odd for a racing game, but Gran Turismo has never been a heart-in-mouth arcade racer, and the relaxed pace works much better for when you're just browsing menus and checking out the cars.
Plus, it makes the load times seem shorter. They take ages but the slow jazz music is that much more relaxing, that it just doesn't matter.

Jazz...it fits perfectly here.

I also like the music :)

I actually love GT5 soundtrack, menu music, photo travel music, everything, i absolutely love it :D:D

Love it! Love it! Love it! :D

If I'm feeling a little down on my luck, a rousing rendition of 'Danny Boy' always gets me back on my feet again! 👍

I love the music, especially since it is very "wife friendly".

thank you sir 👍

Now i can drive my real car and listening to GT5 music :p
that's when reality imitates the virtual world... the loop is now closed, we have a perfect world
