I think you have to be using HDMI, not component cables. People had problems playing UK demos on US machines with component.
 
My 5000 yen PlayStation Network ticket has arrived via email, which ones thing time to download GT5: Prologue.

Hehe yeah, since then it has been checked through export at the airport (they seem quite slow to update the tracking data after looking at the times).
 
Sweet - so its working fine :D Very nice! Looks like I might be buying a voucher tonight! Next step - we need someone to go through and give us some conversions of the menus and we're set :D

Mine has been ordered :D Unfortunately it won't arrive until after I go back to Scotland for my holidays, but I won't have my PS3 there anyway - but I'll be playing it first thing in January :)
 
So they say PS3 is region free for games, but isn't that only if you use HDMI? If you use the normal yellow, red & cable does that still work?

(great timing after I've already ordered the game anyway :dunce:)

If you are playing a NTSC game on a NTSC TV with analog cables, you're fine. If you are playing a NTSC game on a PAL TV with analog cables, you're screwed. Vice versa.

With digital cables (HDMI or DVI), you're alright either way.

I want to play the GT5 Pro Logue from Renchi, so Japanese version on my PS3 in europe on a PAL tv, would that be alright?

I downloaded the demo with my Japanese account during the tokyo motorshow, and that worked. So does that mean this will as well then?

I guess the video output of the demo is the same as the retail version, so i guess you will be ok.
